    Just had an idea - could you achieve the same result with ilford enlarger filters? By the way, I am a young (ish) photographer from London, and thank you so much for doing this series, it is so helpful! Please continue to do more!

    Another option for attaching filters to lenses that lack filter threads is the Lee Gel-Snap filter holder. They offer a 4x4" filter frame that will take wither glass or resin gel filters and there are two plastic tabs behind the filter frame that have a thick rubber band running between them. That rubber band can be placed around the outside of any lens barrel up to 82mm in diameter. I use these with old brass lenses all the time. They are typically available through Adorama and less commonly through B&H. They run $10 from Adorama. A crafty 3D printer could probably fashion something similar even cheaper for their own use.
