Rare blade letter 2/31: Wulfric Dear Wulfric, You truly are a special blade. Not just because of your strength, but because of your symbolism. You were Rex's gift from Vandham after slaying a beast. But, you also are a symbol to not judge someone by their looks. While you may look like a monster on the outside, on the inside, is the heart of an angel. When you helped an elderly lady to her home, everyone was scared, but not her. Even if she couldn't see you, what she felt was someone willing to help her in a time of need. You should never judge a person on their appearance, but instead see the good in them, no matter what. I hope your new driver sees the same Wulfric we've come to love. You may look like a wolf, but your as kind as a puppy. Until we see each other again, Wulfric.

From the start to now, I’ve enjoyed every episode, interacted with those in the comments and have been introduced into my favourite franchise as of now. For many this has been an ongoing ordeal of upsettingly long proportions and there’s no shame in thinking that. However for not only myself but a lot of individuals, it’s either introduced them to the awesome world of Xenoblade or helped them realize that Xenoblade 2 is not as bad as they thought. It’s been a long journey of being taught things I didn’t know about this game, funny moments and opening myself to the genre of JRPGs. It’s even helped me with my mental state on multiple occasions. Chugga, if you see this. Thank you for everything that your channel has been built up to. I am incredibly happy for your existence alone even if you didn’t make these videos.

@@milanbeerepoot4260 Well, it's kind of a Superboss. It's above the player level cap, but it can't be battled again after beating the quest, so I think that disqualifies it from being a Superboss, but I'm not sure.
In the base game yes. There is a stronger higher leveled enemy in the DLC. As well as one that is technically stronger but only by levels. Not gonna say who they are or what they are. But I thought id say just this.
I’ve always done my core grinding on Ken. Once you’ve fought it once you can respawn it with the tombstone in any weather, and I actually HAVE had an easy time fighting it with my levels even in the high seventies. I just keep it locked in a driver combo constantly and use QTpi’s level 4 if it does anything dangerous.

Last episode before new game plus. A gauntlet of the game's toughest enemies in a video over an hour long. And it dropped on my birthday, no less. What a finale. See you guys in NG+!
There's two things Emile didn't point out here that I think are worth mentioning: 1. Cloud Sea King Ken (and any other weather-based unique monster spawn for that matter) only requires the foggy weather on its first defeat. Emile did this in the video but didn't draw attention to it, but respawning it via the gravestone works in any weather. 2. The ten Dilaton Chips gotten from the sealed bulkhead after defeating Ophion are the *only* Dilaton Chips you can get per playthrough without DLC, meaning a playthrough of NG+ is required to get another ten if you run out. With DLC, it's not much better: only an additional seven per playthrough may be gotten as quest rewards. More can be earned via Challenge Battle Mode, but they're locked behind maxing out on Ether Cubes in certain 3/5-or-higher ranked challenges to get the third chest reward, with an *abysmal* drop rate on top of that (the highest is 1.2%). *Use these chips wisely.*
You forgot the most important detail about the Tachyon Chip! It resets the weapon's appearance for Rare Blades, meaning everyone can FINALLY have their cool-looking weapons without it being sub-optimal!
I still remember my first playthrough of this game, I accidentally aggroed Gladiator Orion, I was terrified. However, I was soon laughing because I moved the camera around and saw him falling to his death because he was topped and clipped through the ground, free treasure I guess.
The Tachyon Chip from Tyrannotitan Kurodil is also the only core chip that preserves the unique looks that each of the Rare Blades' primitive weapons have. Dagas' axe that Chugga was praising a couple episodes ago, Ursula's bear paws, Agate's axe made of glowing pink crystals, Azami's cannon with the creepy claw hand, Perceval's katana made of dark tentrils with the flower guard, KOS-MOS's Zohar cannon, and more great designs are available without double digit auto attack stats. The downside is that it doesn't apply to signature (legendary? Whatever you want to call them) blades like Poppi and Brighid, with the exception of Aegaeon.
Something to note about Kurodil is that while it is the highest level superboss, it would be not quite accurate to call it the hardest for one simple reason: It doesn’t get level difference modifiers. Speaking from personal experience, I fought it on my first playthrough at level 76/77 and was able to beat it on my first attempt. Doing it at a lower level also has the advantage of it not getting to ultra annihilation flare before it is dead, as you can full burst it to tear through most of its health.
Important note about superbosses that are susceptible to driver combos, you can inflict a DoT effect (like volcano) and keep spamming driver combos to extend the duration and boost the power of the DoT. No need to go for building up orbs for chain attacks (you can instead use chain attqcks as a way of avoiding dangerous moves), in fact, the DoT setup is the fastest way to kill Ken on Bringer of Chaos since chain attacks are pretty gimped on that difficulty and getting the DoT to reach the damage cap decently quickly is pretty straightforward with the right setups.
I promised i wont cry when the series nears closer and closer to its end... This game means a lot to me and this lets play is no exception. This Lets play Came during a very hard time of my life(that im just now getting truly out of, started the journey to get better in March this year). I know its not done yet, and I will continue enjoying all of Chuggaa’s content obviously, as i have been for a while now. I tried to wait a little longer when im all better to get my feelings (and thanks) out. But i think im doing well enough to say with confidence that, alongside the main game ive been playing for 780+ hours, i would set aside time if i could to watch this series, as its been pulling me through the mess i was deep in, and I honestly feel like this was a factor in me seeking recovery. It would give me a type of joy when new episodes came out that type of joy was something i havent felt in a while, and i desired to make the step forward to get the necessary help for me. Thank you, chuggaaconroy.
If you are having trouble with the super bosses, it’s probably thanks to the enraged status. If you get the DLC, you can use Corvin’s level 2 special to purge it. If you don’t have the DLC, try and pull off a powerful fusion combo on a break and chain attack with a full multiplier. This should annihilate any super boss.
Corvin is just extremely powerful in general. Not just because he’s the only blade that can remove rage status but he also deals a stupid amount of damage with his level 2 and 3 specials even without boosts from aux cores.
Cloud Sea King Ken and the other Sqoods always terrified me. I have Megalohydrothalassaphobia, so any absurdly large sea creature-like enemies make me uneasy.
45:24 Everybody pour one out for the Unique Monster in the building to the right who was just one level off from being showcased in this video. Just tragic.
Wait… Aion is the ultimate artifice, story wise, the biggest threat to Alrest, and it is weaker than a lesser artifice, some random guy with a katana, a squid from Tantal, some robots in a treehouse, a weapon from either Judicium or Mor Ardain, and a tiny velociraptor with gas problems.

If you're having trouble starting off the battle with Mk.VII Arek you can attack him from the hallway behind with Ether Cannons. The hallway is actually too small for the Grandum Sovereign to fit so you'll essentially isolate it away for the rest of the fight giving your a chance to do a bunch of damage to Arek
When I was fighting Ophion for the first time, I kept falling off the edge so I decided to fight him from exactly where Rex was standing in this video. I couldn’t see Ophion but my attacks were hitting and it got the job done.
Funny story; While Tyrannotitan is the highest level enemy in the base game, there's one enemy in challenge mode that's roughly level TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY It's a Radclyffe, so it's meant to explode. I spent half an hour taking it down with Seal Self-Destruct
When I first discovered that final superboss, it reminded me of watching Chugga's XC1 episode on superbosses, notably the one at the top of the mountain. So I knew not to mess with it XD
One interesting thing to note is when these superbosses become available. For most of them, they only spawn once you enter the final chapter, aka after the Amalthus fight and you enter the First Low Orbit Station. However, for Gladiator Orion and Tyrannotitan Kurodil, who happens to be the lowest and highest level superboss in the game, respectively, they are spawned in right at the get-go. As a matter of fact, you can access the Kurodil fight as early as when you can first explore Temperantia (about chapter 5/6), as long as you have the necessary skill checks. You will have your cheeks handed to you immediately (unless you are in New Game +), but it is a fun thought.

17:27 “Rare”. What I’d have given for that to be the case in my own experience this last playthrough. Anyhow once you kill Ken once, you can respawn him with the gravestone regardless of weather.
19:00 A legit strategy to grow stronger at this stage is to just Driver Combo superbosses for their core chips. Sure, you may not win, but you keep the chips anyways which you can then use to make your Blades even stronger for the salty runback.
29:45 Auto-balancers are perfect against this guard.
40:05 Alternatively, go all in on Specials Recharge/Damage and use Corvin’s Level 3 over and over again.
43:20 In the base game this was the only source of Dilaton Chips, and before NG+, this was all you got: 10 chips to use. The Expansion Pass added two quests that give them out: Corvin’s Quest and the one DLC Quest we’ll not be seeing until NG+.
Undeniably the best chip for Poppi a. Accept no substitutes. Otherwise Shield Hammers benefit the most from Dilaton Chips because they’re all about Block Rates.

Rare blade letter 2/31: Wulfric
Dear Wulfric,
You truly are a special blade.
Since NG+ is starting next episode and consequently the last stretch of content for the main game I want to say something. This has been perhaps my favourite of all let’s plays you have done Chugga.

It's pretty awesome that you can actually fight ophion here. I never new you could fight itin my first playthrough and ophion always stuck out as a plot device for me, but finally facing it after all everything is so satisfying.
I honest to god thought he died at the end of Chapter 7, because you last see him in a supposedly destructive explosion where the two artifices seemingly to mortally wound each other. Plus, you don’t ever hear of or see him again in the story after that.
(Also, I love the fact he can be in Kasandra’s h2h, minding his own business while she and her driver have an awkward conversation.😂)
Although it is a bit hilarious story wise. Aion, the peak of the Artifices and capable of laying waste to Alrest is level 70. Ophion is over 100.

The last hits of Adenine's Level III Special really looks like a Wind-element Shippu Jinraikyaku (at least the Smash one). Or maybe just the whole thing, idk
Last episode before new game plus. A gauntlet of the game's toughest enemies in a video over an hour long. And it dropped on my birthday, no less. What a finale.
See you guys in NG+!
There's two things Emile didn't point out here that I think are worth mentioning:
17:57 your Blade icons flash when they can continue the Driver Combo?
You forgot the most important detail about the Tachyon Chip! It resets the weapon's appearance for Rare Blades, meaning everyone can FINALLY have their cool-looking weapons without it being sub-optimal!
I mean it is sub-optimal for most blades, just not terribly sub-optimal.
I still remember my first playthrough of this game, I accidentally aggroed Gladiator Orion, I was terrified. However, I was soon laughing because I moved the camera around and saw him falling to his death because he was topped and clipped through the ground, free treasure I guess.
Thanks for playing Xenoblade, your let’s plays made me want to try the game and now I really enjoy the series ❤️
Funny seeing Emile not know how to say Ouroborus considering XB3 coming out later on.
27:45 "you're weak to water, I don't have access to that"
*Sad Dromarch noises*
To be fair, no access to water is most definitely better than using dromarch as your water blade of choice
Properly seeing the foggy atmosphere with all the squoods for the first time reminded me so much of The Mist. That's some nightmare fuel right there
I promised i wont cry when the series nears closer and closer to its end...
27:45 : "You're weak to water, don't have access to that"
- Dromarch will remember that
The reason he said it is because Adenine gives extra damage to weaknesses and she's on Nia too
Dromarch will remember but he’s too busy not being useful at really anything so i dont think he would have the chance to exact his revenge
Super bosses and challenge mode is where the combat of this game truly shines. It is so satisfying.
Cloud Sea King Ken and the other Sqoods always terrified me. I have Megalohydrothalassaphobia, so any absurdly large sea creature-like enemies make me uneasy.
i still remember spending a good week getting everyone tachion chips for no real reason aside from my love of the unique weapon designs.
45:24 Everybody pour one out for the Unique Monster in the building to the right who was just one level off from being showcased in this video. Just tragic.

Especially useful info given how easy Orion is to cheese
