  • The healthcare industry relies heavily on patient information and data for accurate and faster diagnosis. Data analytics has reduced patient wait times, scheduling tasks, and many more patient care-related tasks. With real-time and historical data access, practitioners can predict trends, achieve medical advances, and drive long-term growth.
The impact of COVID-19 on the healthcare industry has been evident to everyone. Big data tools have played significantly important roles in the world of healthcare in making decisions to tackle the pandemic. In addition, the pandemic highlighted areas of healthcare that can be improved with the implementation of data analytics in the system.
Not just improving daily operations and better healthcare, data analytics can be used for predictive modelling. For example, we can track trends in the dataset and, based on that, make predictions and then track the outcomes.
Instead of just treating a patient, practitioners can now analyse patients’ risk of chronic diseases by analysing their symptoms and comparing them with a centralised dataset. All this comes with greater accuracy and lower costs for the healthcare industry. Be it descriptive, predictive or prescriptive analytics, healthcare data management can lead to better care and treatment if implemented correctly.

Duplication and manipulation of data, validation of data etc are important issues and tasks in healthcare digitalisation.
