Thanks for the video. This was a nice compromise between a reasonable length while still providing a good amount of detail. I'm getting my crankbaits in order for this upcoming season and needed a good refresher. I find it quite useful at times to just get back to basics.
I have more DTs than I have of any other line of hard baits combined. I always have DT-6s, DT-8s, and DT-10s with me on the water. Throw mine mostly on a the 7'4" MHM Legend Glass. Sometimes throw the deeper divers on a Phenix X-14 for maximum distance/time in the target depth. It's a great rod in particular for the DT-20. I'd love to see Rapala release an actual super deep diver. The 10XD is good when the fish are aggressive. I currently use Duo Realis G87 20A for a more subtle super deep diver. Would be cool if Rapala got a foot into that sector of the market.
Went and stocked my boxes and Rapala's is what I bought first and there aren't many colors and sizes that I don't have .Guess I'm going to have to start buying Mega Bass , Lucky Craft and some customs .What I'm basically saying is I'm a really big fan of Rapala's they are up there with the best baits in my opinion .Like them so much I went overboard. Going to need a new tackle bag soon .

I have a Rapala DT-14 in the Firetiger color. Beautiful and such a well polished high quality product / lure. I need to fish with it more though. I always find myself using the trusty Rapala Super Shad.
I’m not afraid to go up a size on crankbaits. It’s much more of an issue with Jerkbaits that you want to suspend. I don’t think it affects the action of the bait, but it may make it dive a little deeper than you want.
I think the OG slim is the better choice. It's an incredible lure that really works great in cold water, but the DT is not far behind. Thanks for watching.
I don’t seem to have trouble with the stock hooks. If you fish any bait long enough, the hooks will need to be replaced. I use the stock hooks on DT’s and then when they wear out, I upgrade. Thanks for watching!
Funny story about that “Bar Fish” color from KVD. So I have a lot of KVD 10XD (25 feet) crankbaits. My Dad and I decided to go fishing on a very hot day, and my Dad told me: “The fish ain’t gonna be biting, it’s too hot out.” And I told my Dad: “The fish are just in cooler water; they are down deep in the cooler water, they are no different than us humans. When it’s hot out we move slower and like the cool AC. So when we go I am going to be throwing my 10XD’s / 25 foot deep divers.” My Dad and I get out on the dock and my Dad was using a big sucker minnow. I crack open my tackle box and I say: “Dad which one of these 10XD’s should I throw?” My Dad says: “Well... give em’ something they have never seen before, I would go with this...” and my Dad points at the 10XD in the Bar Fish color. So I whip that lure far far out there, and I know it’s hot out so the fish ain’t moving fast; they’re moving slower, just like us humans when it’s hot and muggy out. So I am doing a slow steady pull, and letting the lure pause for 7 seconds; slow steady pull, and letting the lure pause for 7 seconds. About 30 minutes in I feel a very slow, soft, sluggish weighted pull on my line. And I say: “-Oooh Dad! I got one! It feels like a nice Bass the way he took it.” I keep reeling up slowly anxious to see what I got. And it was a nice 30-32inch well fed, healthy Northern Pike! And I had a 18inch Tyrant Flourocarbon leader on too, just in case a Pike or Musky hits my lure, and sure nuff... one did! So that’s my KVD 10XD “Bar Fish” story.
He bit it on the pause too! So subtly though, and you just felt the rod and the line weigh down. I was using a Berkeley Big Game Power Series rod (Walmart $25) and I was using a Quantum open faced reel (I think you can find them at Walmart too for $25 - $30) and I had on 65lb Power Pro or 65lb Spider Wire Braided Fishing Line.

All DT Series crankbaits rattle. It says it right on the box. If he kept reading the side of the it at about 19:18 in the video the next lines say "Natural Balsa Action Long-Casting Rattlin' Crankbait". He was so close. If paused, you can clearly read it.
@JARoot-ic8wy if you hold the hooks together and the split rings and shake it close to your ear you will in fact NOT hear any rattles..now the dt-4 & the dt-6 DO have rattles.

Loved your video on the DT lineup by Rapala. I absolutely love to fish the DT 4 and 8 but my ultimate favorite is the DT Fat 01 in Hot Mustard.

Where do you get the sureset hooks at? some of my dt series have just a regular treble hook in the back.

Have you tried the Bill Lewis MR-6 it's quickly becoming my favorite 6 foot crankbaits but nothing will ever replace the DT in my box

What size KVD Triple Grips do I use on a DT6? I am hearing it affects the action of the bait if I go up one size?

What about the quality of the hooks? Looks like the 2 dt10s. Had bent hooks

Haven’t yet. Waiting on them to become available on TW. Looks like flat sided DTs with circuit board lips.

The Dt’s are great baits but I like the strike king just as good

The DT line is not silent…….they have a faint rattle!
They have no rattle. That’s just from the hooks
