I have been watching One Piece since 2000 (bootleg HK DVDs was the only way to see it then!) and I have been waiting 23 years to see Zoro do the “Z-slash” one of the best moments in anime history for me.
the bar is so low for one piece fans. i hate to be one of those people, but remove the flashy lights and we’re left with sheer mediocrity. a fight between two people who use swords and the majority of the fight is spent with them at least 15 feet away from each other while they take turns doing attacks.
@@elanadeshina1489 Your criticism is sound, but then again, just let people enjoy what they want. This episode is genuine beauty in my opinion, but I get the notion that many people won't adhere to that. And that's perfectly fine.
So it was initially a debate in the manga.. But the anime outright shows Zoro cutting through a flame on King and the flame went off when he lost consciousness.. I know people have said this before but I might consider scaling anime versions of one piece characters different from their manga counterparts 😂. This whole fight was a masterpiece. From the flashback to the ending attacks. Maan I did not expect Toei to wild out like this💯
It's safer to call the anime more canon than the manga (for wano) simply because Oda has had a lot of say and direction in how the anime displays things for the wano arc.
@@agnihistoria7951 true in certain regards I can't still can't completely agree that it's more canon. My gripe would be how animators have been changing certain aspects especially within the endings of certain fights. Luffy vs Kaido 1 ending is a good example of it. Sanji vs queen ending also kinda made the same mistake..
I really need time to get back into making videos - I think this episode along with Sanji v Queen really highlights what I've been feeling since reading these moments in the manga. Zoro and Sanji are the Wings -- but in different ways. Sanji turns down power to boost the humanity and humility via the traits that Judge put him down for, but Luffy praises him for. Literally a running theme. Kid Sanji looked at Judge's painting of the royal genocide and was disgusted. Sanji never sought power. His will was first inherited by his mother Sora - to be loving and Kind - and only bolstered via Zeff. Sanji is the peak example of "support" in this way - but is also packing power to boot. Zoro leans into power even if it means death for him - and says he'll overcome even that (death) if he needs to. This leans heavily into the statements made during his recruitment: "The Pirate King needs nothing less than the World's Strongest Swordsman". As well as being emphasized with moments like "nothing happened". Zoro is the peak example of "power" in this way - but also packs support as he is literally the pillar that keeps Luffy held up: Usopp moment, Water 7 (From Nami: When those 2 figure out what it is they have to do, they always pull through), Punk Hazard ("Luffy, we're in the new world, we can't get caught slacking!"), Dressrosa (riding with him clearing the path towards Doffy), Plenty of times in Wano (most notably constantly on the roof). Equally important, but in different ways. And specifically with this episode, seeing the parallels between Zoro and King highlighted even more is beautiful. Zoro shows more trust and faith in Luffy than King does Kaido. And I think the flashback of King saying "it doesn't matter, so long as you remain strong" is the clear evidence of where a fracture appeared in King's belief of Kaido. However? The trust between Luffy and Zoro remains unbroken, and has only gotten stronger. Arber was named "King" by a King (Kaido). Zoro displayed he IS a "King" alongside another King (Luffy). And tying that into how Zoro even chastised King for burning his own subordinates ties this thought-process closer. It's really nice weaving of threads everywhere throughout - just less obvious as with Sanji (who has always been a beautifully written character with his personal moments).
The way the anime showed Zoro just rushing through that king lava attacks were definitely showing Zoro lack of fear in regards to death. Dude was on a mission 😅
i dont think we should be calling the added stuff "filler" wano has added alot in terms of the anime adding context to the manga. even this fight is showing us all the shit we didnt see from the artwork, it's less "filler" and more like "complete context"

Something that not many of you might be familiar with and that did not pay much attention to. In Asian culture are 3 types of dragons. Dragon with 3 claws, 4 and 5. The more claws the dragon has the more powerful he is. Nobody but the emperor is allowed to use the image of a dragon with 5 claws, or places such as temples and shrines where the emperor visits can depict dragons with 5 claws. The dragon with 4 claws is used only by the crown prince. Coming back to One Piece. Kaido's and Momonosuke's dragon form is depicted as having 4 claws. Meanwhile, in this episode, we see King before creating the dragons, he made a dragon hand with 5 claws, and then each claw transformed into a dragon. Now, knowing Oda has very extensive knowledge about mythologies, it wasn't a mistake. My theory is that Kaido's Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu was not awakened yet, but probably in an intermediate state same as Luffy's Gear 4th. Probably Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu's awakening is when they transform the dragon into a dragon with 5 claws. It will be Momonosuke who will achieve it, and we will see that in the final battle against t world government.

It is really interesting getting both a David vs Goliath dynamic but also kind of like a King Kong vs the plane fighting dynamic of something being able to fly verse something that can’t and how zoro has to use the leverage of things around him, being at a disadvantage in air and the impacts of his own blows to manoeuvre himself is just such an interesting way to show a fight.
Zoro saying he dislikes making those type of excuses (the biological o,nes) is an homage to Kuina who used to tell him that she will never get to be the strongest swordsman because she's a woman and thus will always be weaker than other men. He really is showing how much big a part Kuina is in his mastery of swordsmanship even after all of these years.
The way I assume kings power works is that when his flame is on his back he uses it to propel himself like a rocket for that extra speed but when he retracts the flame into his body he has better defence because any blow that meets his body has that flame act against it and create a counter blow so it somewhat cancels out. Idk. It probably isn’t any “science” behind it, it’s just there because Oda wanted it like that but that’s what I like to think atleast.
Zoro broke up the ground in strategy, BECAUSE he cannot fly! Dope!! My Arrector Pili fire everytime I see that Z at the end!!! Sincerely a beautiful episode. Love the content!! KING OF HELL 💯🔥
1062 is so much better than the manga. They genuinely improved on Oda’s work. I think the detail I haven’t seen anyone pick up on is when Zoro does his second Ultra Tiger Hunt, the impact crater behind King is in the shape of a crescent moon. There’s also a quick hint of Asura in the impact frames when Zoro prepares his final attack. Vincent Chansard is crazy good.
Idc why you make your content just keep making it. I miss the good old days when Brago would just make a vid for the sake of just making a vid. Its always fun to hear sarcastic comments about OP
Bro when Zoro finishes his ult. attack on King, he writes his name with the black lightning, if you stop it four times he does it letter by letter. I saw this on the twitter and had to go back and I actually found them. It's insane the details they put into this episode!
Amazing fight scene, it kinda reminded me of Ultra Instinct Goku vs Kalifa. In terms of One Piece though, the fight that sticks out to me the most is Luffy versus Rob Lucci.
I would love a video describing you're favorite entrance fav fight fav backstory fav show of respect fav emotional connections fav arc fav theroy. Also on a side note with the vi vi lin lin thing what if the final main crew member is already a member sorta like lin lin could have been with joy boy its a huge connection that i haven't seen talked about
Purple is when Enma is now being fed enough haki and is forced to pull haki to cut what IT wants to. Green is when Enma is being fed enough haki and can cut whatever Zoro wills it to cut.
Can someone pls explain that oni giri that zoro did , was that lasers ? Did he even attack king ? What was that ? I never seen that move do that before , was that in the manga ? I’m so confused
It's kinda sad that this fight is so called the best, But I won't be greedy, I'm sure Oda Will allow Zoro to get in his bag for new named attacks in the future, But for right now we as One piece Fans Are satisfied with the conclusion of Zoro Vs King 👑. And Law you Are Absolutely Undoubtedly correct about Zoro being one of the Quickest Strikers in One Piece, Zoro Vs Kaido, And Zoro Vs Kuma are some Great Examples of Zoro's Prowess and Skill as A Swordsman.
King might not even realize his weakness. With the flame he's ultra defense but with the speed he may not have ever been hit. To him, both invincible. I think at when he was nervous about ultra tiger hunt, he was nervous because either flame was more vulnerable or he wasn't sure how zoro was breaking him down. Love your content BDA. Keep it up! Note: All this happened in an instant
The thing is, Zoro DID hit him in speed mode. He just didn't get hurt. The most damage Zoro did was messing up his mask a little. THATS how durable King is supposed to be even with his flames off. Which is probably why he was so comfortable using it. Because most people still can't hurt him regardless, even if they do land a hit.
Brago you know and i know you just rewatching the episode cause it was so over the top and your a zoro stand but sure lets rewatch it i have watch the sanji fight like 12 times but i have watch zoro vs king 8 times now and never gets old
Brago u missed the scene as a kid Zoro says “ I’ll become the greatest my name will reach the heavens” and right after the conq haki lightning spelled his name in the sky after defeating king and calling himself the king of hell
The only thing that made it the best OP fight ever was the animation. If fights are all about pretty colors and auras then Demon Slayer has the best fights. Looks like OP finally took notes and I can't blame them lol auras sell 😅
I took the coloring of the haki to mean that purple aura = strong normal haki, while the new green is supposed to tell us when Zoro is using conqueror coating so we have a visual tell. Similar to how Sanji's Ifrit can be told apart when it turns blue
Basic haki is like life force....and that is mainly used as armament....the purple haki is his basic haki or armament haki....green is his conqueror aura....similar to luffy's gold aura
The love the episode. The only thing i wish they would've changed is that they have Zoro's conqueror's haki red lightning leaking/flowing from his swords constantly, instead of having it just flash around the screen
Like luffy have golden power for conqueror coating, zoros is green, as he coat his blade with full haki, you can see he use ryo when he did 2nd tiger hunt, and conqueror coating first time on kaido, but he transcended to next level at 1080 when he finally start coating with conqueror haki in his blade. And this fight is actually haki guy with blade vs fully buffed guy who is literally god and have, devil fruit to support him. Haki wins
The reason why Oni Giri i9s that powerful is because Zoro used a King of Hell mode attack. King of Hell attacks are just another level. Just like how luffy used to have regular Pistol and then in G2 he has JET pistol. All of King of Hell attacks are life-threatening to even the yonkos.
It's not filler it's extended canon. If they gave us the full fight in the manga the pages would be more and it would take longer to release a chapter. The roof top has extended canon, Luffy vs Kaido, Sanji vs Queen, Roger Flashback, Oden vs Kaido, Luffy vs Katakuri, Luffy vs Doffy, MF, etc. It's all extended canon. Filler is them making us rewatch an episode having Sanji and Chopper as narrator's. But nothing less great anime recap my boyyy.

But best episode to me is still "Nothing Happened" episode
The way I assume kings power works is that when his flame is on his back he uses it to propel himself like a rocket for that extra speed but when he retracts the flame into his body he has better defence because any blow that meets his body has that flame act against it and create a counter blow so it somewhat cancels out. Idk. It probably isn’t any “science” behind it, it’s just there because Oda wanted it like that but that’s what I like to think atleast.
I remember your chapter review you were so hard this fight but the anime did a wicked job still
Zoro broke up the ground in strategy, BECAUSE he cannot fly! Dope!! My Arrector Pili fire everytime I see that Z at the end!!! Sincerely a beautiful episode. Love the content!!
KING
OF
HELL 💯🔥
Thank you Brago for doing this💯💯
This episode combined with my already obsessive nature about Zoro just about killed me 😂😊
This is all we've been asking for. You can keep the auras but focus on CHOREOGRAPHY!! I want zoro and king fighting not their auras
I loved this video!!! I got hype all over again! Incredible animation! Zoro is different 👿💚
13:35 is it just me or that crater that is behind king looks like a crescent moon?
King kind of reminds me of Sephiroth when he was falling. Like a one-winged angel
Trying to pause to see all of king's stills like when he was using his imperial flame wing and changing from a chill up present was epic
This ended every argument about zoro vs sanji
Thank you for using my quote that king has no ambition of his own but Zoro wants to be the king of swordsmen
I can feel the passion in every word. this how I was talking to myself during the episode but lil more screaming lol
Idc why you make your content just keep making it. I miss the good old days when Brago would just make a vid for the sake of just making a vid. Its always fun to hear sarcastic comments about OP
Wait !!!! The king vs zoro fight foreshadowed the potential intensity sabos flames might reach!! “ his flames are like magma”
B.D.A Law my bro I enjoy your videos a lot...#from South Africa....sharp bro!!!
when he's slashing thru the dragons reminds me of Goku surfing on Keflas beam
A masterpiece. Amen
Zunesha and luffy's grin will be the beginning of One piece breaking the internet
Bro when Zoro finishes his ult. attack on King, he writes his name with the black lightning, if you stop it four times he does it letter by letter. I saw this on the twitter and had to go back and I actually found them. It's insane the details they put into this episode!
The way I see it the green aura is conquers Haki and the purple aura is regular armament Haki.
i just realized King is just a huge John Mayer fanboy and is waiting on the world to change
Amazing fight scene, it kinda reminded me of Ultra Instinct Goku vs Kalifa. In terms of One Piece though, the fight that sticks out to me the most is Luffy versus Rob Lucci.
It’s crazy that you saying king doesn’t have a goal of his own but everyone was complaining that king didn’t have conquer haki
I love how you broke up his down… keep goin FR
6:22 dope frame! Looks like zoro’s looking into hell making sure everything is going good 😅!
Can someone pls explain that oni giri that zoro did , was that lasers ? Did he even attack king ? What was that ? I never seen that move do that before , was that in the manga ? I’m so confused
That shot of Zoro.. looking down on king with all the flames around him...was kinda like king was a fallen angel
Hey! Fun fact! That's exactly what the person who's art was stolen for the thumbnail had in mind when drawing it!
Brago you know and i know you just rewatching the episode cause it was so over the top and your a zoro stand but sure lets rewatch it i have watch the sanji fight like 12 times but i have watch zoro vs king 8 times now and never gets old
When Emma is purple, it is pulling Zoro’s Armament Haki. It’s green when Zoro uses Conqueror’s
Brago u missed the scene as a kid Zoro says “ I’ll become the greatest my name will reach the heavens” and right after the conq haki lightning spelled his name in the sky after defeating king and calling himself the king of hell
nice long video! good stuff brago
If this is Zoro vs King, I’m not ready for Luffy vs Kaido
the fight was really good but i heard many saying the animation are insane then you never watched really insane animations!
The only thing that made it the best OP fight ever was the animation. If fights are all about pretty colors and auras then Demon Slayer has the best fights. Looks like OP finally took notes and I can't blame them lol auras sell 😅
Zero looking down on King like “what’s a King to a God?”
Katakuri vs Luffy Snake man to me is much more memorable then this. Still a good fight to watch tho post Conquerer awakening
I agree by far the best fight episode to date.
I took the coloring of the haki to mean that purple aura = strong normal haki, while the new green is supposed to tell us when Zoro is using conqueror coating so we have a visual tell. Similar to how Sanji's Ifrit can be told apart when it turns blue
IS BRAGO COMING TO ANIME EXPO LA?
Yeah it's very rarely and I gotta appreciate how much the anime added
Basic haki is like life force....and that is mainly used as armament....the purple haki is his basic haki or armament haki....green is his conqueror aura....similar to luffy's gold aura
Bro that thumbnail is too cold
In the end that's z with flute is sooooo damn good
W episode. Imma have to go back and reread, but it feels like it’s moving so fast for Toei😂 I mean I’m not complaining because G5🤩🤩🤩
This is for sure #1 fight sequence so far
We’ll be back ina few weeks with that gear 5 react don’t worry 😂❤
The intro to this is almost word for word the same as king of lightning’s video first 3-5 mins
Not enough people are appreciating the music during the final moments of the fight for me 😮💨😮💨
The love the episode.
Mihawk v Zoro needs to be a 30+ minute short movie seperate from the anime.
