  • This video shows a selection of trains on both the West Coast Mainline (WCML) and Chiltern Mainline at South Hampstead station, nestled in a deep cutting a couple of miles outside of London Euston station. In the video, we see LNWR Class 350s, Avanti West Coast Pendolinos, a London Underground Class 710 and the empty stock of the Caledonian Sleeper on the lower level and a Class 165 and a pair of Class 68s on the upper level! Enjoy!

nostalgic for me this. stood on this platform as a kid with my dad around 1962 watching steam trains come thundering out of that Primrose Hill tunnel heading north. the sound of them coming and the smoke that billowed out of the tunnel portals was incredible to remember. we only lived two streets behind the station (Goldhurst Terrace) and you could hear trains all night long. we left London in 1967 and live in Liverpool, i go back to Euston once a year for a meeting and still get exited going through South Hampstead for my own personal reasons as Dad is no longer around. so thankyou for this video.
