I had NO idea that gauge measured mixture. FINALLY someone mentions it! I wouldn't have even known how to google that question. Re question at 3:26 - water on the cooler side of good, and oil radiator could close just a smidge to bring the temp over 90.
Keep it simple. Temps vary in a climb, a decent, in cold or hot weather. Trick is simply to keep the temps within the prescribed norms. Keep an eye on them but better still, keep your eyeballs outside the cockpit as well!
The Pe-2 s35 DOES have RPM controls. Two little levers next to the supercharger control. If you want to look at a complete instructional video then see Requiem's channel: th-cam.com/video/DDA5yJyUNoU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zYVuLy4C1o5siyrP at around the 1.00 mark.
This is what is wrong with this game in my opinion. One of my favorite games used to be Aces High II. It was realistic in that you carried certain amount of ammo and the plane's performance was effected by the load out and fuel level like it should be. You pushed the throttle forward and after taking off you pulled up the gear and you were off to fight and have fun. In this game and games like DCS you're not playing a game anymore, they turned it into a job where you are taking notes and studying more than you are actually just flying the plane looking for enemies to shoot at. If most of us wanted to have to learn all of this we'd go to flight school and become an actual pilot. This is supposed to be a game to play to escape reality for a while and just have fun, not a damned job.
That's arcade style play like War Thunder. IL-2 and DCS are Flight Simulations where the real world aircraft performance and characteristics and the pilot's abilities to manage them were a big factor. They weren't out there to have fun. That said, in IL-2 you can turn all those parameters off. Great for single player.
@@paulhunter1735it depends on the settings of the multiplayer server most require full engine management but there are a few with simplified controls. I totally disagree with your assessment. controlling the engine management is part of what makes the sim entertaining. And once you learn its not to hard.
@@paulhunter1735 Individual servers generally set the "techno chat" parameters. You will have limited success against any but the most novice players. Try Wings of Liberty or Berluga servers.
Thank you Colonel.
as always. Thank you :)

Noted, thank you. This video is concerned with managing engine temps.
Addendum: The Propellar control levers are there. They have no function in the game.
@@colninny8769 They do have funciton. You can adjust Prop RPM; i.e.constant speed 2600; 2450; etc.
@@Jbroker404 they don't work for me in the Pe-2
@@colninny8769 you might have to set RPM Control to a button in addition to the axis you already have.
How does one create that card with the info on it to put in the cockpit?
See How to create a cockpit data card video :)
@@colninny8769 will do!

@@paulhunter1735 no, it's controlled by the server host. Look for Normal servers vs Expert servers
