It is criminal how few views these videos have! I’ve learned so much from them!

I've just got Gestapo Hunters and the first mission - at night - has me practically pulling out my hair. I had an awful job trying to taxi the Mozzie and it took me at least 15 attempts (getting closer to the runway each try) to actually take off. I got through the mission, got home, but I confess my inability to see the airfield, let alone the landing strip, made me use autopilot to land. Thanks for another great video and remember, no matter how old these vids are, they will be new to someone, who like myself, have just encountered the Mosquito.

This was taken during a kind of training mission we did together. I was pretty bad and the flight back was actually quite exciting. Later that day we did a night raid on some German installations on the Finnish server. Several bombers and escorts. It was the only time I flew for the Allies. After we had landed I knew why we were getting our asses kicked as Axis. Haven't played since then but that memory will stay with me forever. Just the landing with one bomber touching down every few seconds and escorts circling above was glorious. Thanks again to you and your comrades. Hope you're doing well. Super helpful thx! I'm a total newb so I didnt even know how to use the rudder, I lost patience trying to take of with the 109 using rudder trim. Then I learned the 109 has no rudder trim and I was like then WTF! Bro you tought me about the Z axis. lol

I'm having a real hard time with this mission. First attempt was OK, I shot down one of the fighters, helped shoot down another 1 or 2, and then spent a while chasing one. Finally got ole Fritz lined up for the kill and *click* no more ammo. I probably shouldn't have wasted them going after the Ju-52 that passes low under your nose before Dorsten. So I crashed into him from behind killing us both for a bit of a laugh - because I thought the mission was fun and I'd try again nbd. Next attempt was going similar, had 2 kills and then all of a sudden while chasing a third one mid-airs me from beside/behind slicing my entire plane in half. Then since then it's just gotten worse and worse and I swear there's more fighters each time. I've tried staying with my guys when they all scatter near Münster, but no such luck. The AI seems to prioritize the human player. Maybe I'll try what you do and go investigate that little town on the way to give time for my guys to take the attention. In my Mk1XC Spitfire I always ground loop on landing and almost always lose a flap. So annoying - especially as I consider myself a half decent pilot and have been flying sims since the first MS Flight sim in 1982 - so it's a habit I am having a hard time breaking.

Great Video, as just started, have a Hotas warthog set, and rudder peddles, but not sure how to set them up?????? I am a Historian of WW1, as grandfather was in this war, in british army in Trenches, am now 65, and have studied History all my life, partic. the GREAT WAR, have HUGE collection of books, and WW1 shell casings, and a lot of other collectables etc, so any help is much appreciated, nad your snippets of info about what the pilots went through is great. Great Video, explaining the oil, fuel, air mix, and other things like the Caster oil, side effects, I suppose, there scarves, helped to not take in so much of the castor oil, wonder how many of the Pilots had accidents ???? in there pants, but better than dead!!!!! all relative!!!!! Thanks, as just starting, and learning basics to recover from spin is really helpful, Now all I gotta do is remember this and NOT Panic !!!!!!! LOL Can you imagine what it must have been like, in Bloody April, when losses on Allied side was so high, Pilots were sent up with not many more hours, than ME, a complete beginner, my Grandfather, was in Trenches, and gas got him, he survived, but died at early age years later, again what would ypu choose then IF had the choice ???? Army, Navy, or Airforce, tanks you got asphyxsiated from fumes, infantry sent over the top, Navy if shelled and ship sunk, chances of survival were nearly nil, and aircraft, you could get shot Obviously, but no parachute, planes caught fire so easily, and aircraft could fall to bits, I fully understand why some pilots, kept a webley hand gun handy. Hey colonel, how many hours have you played on IL2 ?

I can take off and turn (sorta) now - still having issues sticking the landing. When you say "bleed off the speed" do you mean just pulling up on the nose or cutting the throttle? Am I supposed to be at 0% throttle *before* descending, or doing it at speed until I hit the ground, then cutting it? You also think an airfield's big enough, but I never seem to have enough space coming in...🤔

How can you set a convergence point?

You mention climb speed optimization. How do you know your best climb speed ? Also, if you have a plane that isn't as capable as the enemy, maybe pulling out and climbing is a worse choice than getting into a turning war.. If you were in a Zero for instance. Yes ?

Hi , I have this long standaing doubt..is the Pricipals of flying Prop planes the same as flying fighter jets . like attitude = speed and altitude =power and those basics flying concepts that you ahve thought in your other series about basics of flying.I want to better my flying skills in DCS and ARMA modded DLCs, hence asked if they are appliable there too

I am a regular viewer of your videos. I would appreciate it if you could explain to me how your computer is built in terms of hard drives. I run some heavy simulators + STEAM and they require a large amount of space and speed. A. What drives do you have on your computer? B. Are they all SSD? C. Do you have any external drives on which your simulators sit? D. Where are your simulators installed?

It's amazing how far away from the target was considered a direct hit in ww2. No real impact from the mission but still considered a success. On a personal note, I work on the railway and find it extremely offensive that you're trying to bomb me and my colleagues 🤣

Good points! The note about the Conga Line is that easily you have a lot of planes with equal energy levels and someone with more energy can easily exploit it! 😅

Like your posts and have tried your joystick setup with no luck. Also wondering if anyone else lost their cameras? No matter what, redownload or reset everything no luck.

Yep it would be very nice to have more people flying in MP but the problem is the steep learning curve for those who start so the only real option would be COOP against AI but since the AI is so shallow as it is this wont work aswell. I relly hope the AI in IL-2 Korea will be better than in IL-2 GB, in 2025 we will see if the genre has a future, also jets should attract more people, fingers are crossed!

I really with IL2 had a bigger audience down in oceania as it is you are cursed to play with 250 ping on eastern US servers and all of the problems associated with that
