Todd, I agree with you 100%! I think we guys have a propensity to make everything into a me-vs-you scenario. I’m willing to bet that if the friend wasn’t there, and the diameter of the table was somewhat shorter, Ryan would have sat down opposite of Emma instead of by her side. Effectively doubling down on the oppositional nature of the interaction.
The competitive mindset can be so pernicious. I’ve made the same mistake in interactions with New York women and, because NY’ers are so headstrong, even a good interaction can spiral into a never-ending game of tug-o-war.

I haven't seen this movie, but let me guess, he gets her in the next interaction. One thing I've realized is it's very important to reframe these kind of interactions, and look at them, if they are not immediately successful, like they are actually just "first dates" and that if the universe means for it to happen the paths will cross again, sooner than later, and the "2nd date" will be a closer. He can easily pick up the interaction again, having established some rapport, and they know each other now, she knows he's got balls but is still a mystery to her. It's mostly good. I agree with you though that the "putting it all on the table, final argument" thing was forced and girls don't like to have their hand overly and overtly forced. He didn't let her do any of the chasing, or make anything seem like it was her idea. But big points for boldly putting the balls on the chopping block. It's fucking fun to approach and spontaneously interact with beautiful women, no matter what the result. It makes life richer. You got a great way of breaking this stuff down. Thanks, man.

He's naturally cool, but not as cool as Steve McQueen, sadly Hollywood like to portray men as needy and cheesy due to their agendas and whilst they know how to write entertainment they don't understand real game. Nice to have movies reviews of game nonetheless. I LOVE It Happened One Night from 1934 staring Clark Gable. Check it out!

There was this guy at my university who sat surrounded by lovely girls every day at lunch. They’d all be laughing and having a great time. One day, he happened to be by himself and sat staring at me the entire time, not saying a word. He was so magnetic that I almost got up and went to sit with him. He couldn’t come to me because he was in a wheelchair and my table was in a raised area. He was paraplegic.
Thirty years later, I still regret not going to his table (I had a boyfriend), just to figure out what his charisma was. I think that he was bone deep okay with himself and happy.

Guys could successfully get a great woman in a relationship and decide 'nah, life isn't worth living without the game'.

Hi there Todd. A superlative breakdown which helps enormously as when single gentleman like myself go to a movie such as this, and I did actually see the movie when it came out on my own, one wonders how much of this Hollywood charisma and charm would actually work pragmatically in the real world. So, as I am English, you know already I am going to kindly and respectfully suggest a break down of a James Bond 007 scene if you please. One scene that has been analysed by several TH-camrs already is the first Daniel Craig 007 movie, Casino Royale, where Bond meets Vesper Lynn for the first time on the train. Your analysis of this scene would be definitely on the next level compared to your contemporaries. Anyhow, Bond or not, thank you again for a truly value full analysis of this scene. Best wishes to you and Cheerio

If you are a good looking guy, by most women's standards, and are confident and a little playful, and funny, you can say about anything, even being a little pushy, as long as you aren't crossing the line. It's a fine line to walk perhaps, but your margin for error is increased by your relative attractiveness.

Certainly you can learn how to be more witty and all, but what I meant is if your natural personality tends to be in the realm of more 'quiet confident' (or playful etc.. Etc.. ) and your natural personality is not being a verbal wizard, then there must be a style of game to accommodate all sorts of personality types, that are attractive to that character
So for example sitting comfortably and confidently in the pressure instead of 'hip firing back' with clever comebacks and stuff like that..

It might be worthwhile to break down a typical romance movie from start to finish. I've been looking at romance movies from your example: boy and girl hate each other, they have an experience, hate changes to love, boy and girl love each other. This does seem to be the plot line of several movies. This also suggests that this is the experience girls desire, since these movies are written for girls.
In several of these movies the girl is engaged to be married when she meets the boy she hates. It's scary to think that girls long to meet a bad boy while they are engaged.
Also, since boy hates girl in the beginning, boy is not chasing girl. So, if you could breakdown one or three movies, showing just one scene each of boy/girl hate, boy/girl experience, boy/girl love, that would be helpful in seeing how to develop a plot line in game.
In addition, I have been working on letting girls chase me. First, girls seem to enjoy chasing me. I assume girls enjoy chasing guys in general, since I am nothing special. Second, the more a girl chases me, the less attracted I am to her. Ironically, the less attracted I am to her, the more she chases me.
I am seeing things from the girls point of view for the first time. I can see now, exactly how in the past that a girl lost whatever attraction she had for me, the more I chased her. A scary realization. It's almost better to chase the girl and have her dump me, thinking that I lost something special, than to cause the girl to chase me and to gradually lose my attraction for her, until I don't see her as special anymore and don't care if I lose her.
If I keep letting girls chase me, I'm afraid I will never see another girl as special. Of course, the fact that I will no longer see any girl as special will probably help my game tremendously. I will probably have more girls than I want, because I no longer want them. Reality bites.

I understand emotion before logic but in the movie he knew the kind of woman he was dealing with. He saw he wasn't appealing to her mood and all he had going for him was winning her friend over so he had to change it up using logic while still keeping the mood. She's a lawyer so she's going to be prone to logic first. He didn't get her that night but he definitely got her attention.
