I love that you drew a parallel between the red scarf and her girlhood in 'WCS'. Two separate relationships, but Jake and John BOTH took advantage of her youth at the time and essentially robbed her of her innocence as a young woman. Jake kept the scarf almost as a "trophy", because it reminded him of her innocence, and John robbed her of her girlhood which she could never get back.

Girl yes, but that's what's so sad about it! There's no way she could ever forget the moment she realized he didn't feel for her the way she did for him because it was at her 21st birthday party! That's supposed to be full of great happy and fun memories but hers will always be sad to think back on. We only get one life, you don't get to relive your 21st birthday. Once it happens, that's all you get. Which speaks to how important it is to make the most of your life events but also how you should never be the reason for someone's horrible memory of an important milestone.

Don't wait too long to watch the short film so you won't have to focus as much on the lyrics. The short film version has a very impactful scene where Taylor isn't singing but the actors are acting out a scene that pretty much every relationship has had. I almost think every couple should be required to watch it together. It shows how Women and Men think differently. I believe if we understood we process things differently there would be less arguments.
