Hi Kathy. Thank you for going onto the TH-cam platform. I too am a retired nurse in Queensland, Australia and we have 3 very active grandsons. I have returned to sewing in the last few years and enjoy watching the many sewing vlogs. I first started watching another Australian, Kristen from The Dahlia Sew society, and have learnt so many new things. Big 4 patterns are quite expensive in Australia so discovering indie patterns has been a gamechanger for me. Looking forward to hearing more about your part of the world.
Thank you and welcome back to sewing. When I returned, the first thing I did was learn all the idiosyncrasies of machines. You all find knits are easy, but you need to learn a few basics. obviously, the children these days wear knits most of the time. I sounds like we have a bit in common!
Oh how delightful to spend time with you!. I love the little grownup jacket. And your vintage tools are awesome! I have been wanting a velvet needle board for ever! I hope you enjoy your time of!
I love Minerva! I’ve only ordered twice but I bought multiple cuts each order and the fabrics were fabulous. I got some cotton lawn by Lady McElroy, shirting and heavy linen. Just delicious fabrics! I got my packages super fast! I’ve also ordered from elsewhere across the pond with the shipping taking up to 3 weeks!
I like the looks of the horizontal stripe cotton/spandex and cotton sweater knit. Wonder if they have matching ribbing for the sweater knit. Will have to check.
Do they have coordination ribbing--that's a good question. Yes, I will definitely keep that fabric in mind when I plan to make a sweater/sweatshirt. Last year, I purchased a couple cardigans, and this year I would like to make them
I hope you're feeling better, Kathy. Sucks to be sick in summer! But enjoy your family time and little vacations! Looking forward to seeing what you get up to when you get back to your normal routine. Minerva is great, but I don't order from there too often but when I do, I'm usually very happy with my purchases. Did you sign up to attend Whitney's shirt making class? I remember you said you live pretty close to her, so I thought you'd been keen. x
Thanks Faith, I am getting somewhat better, but not completely, It is difficult for me to relax and get better.I did not know about Whitney's retreat until way after it sold out. I guess it wasn't meant to be, but I am super disappointed . I put myself on the wait list, but I am certain I am about 999 on the list. I have followed her from day 1 and feel she just needs to meet me!

Wonderful! I love the fabrics too! And they seem to be only getting better.

@@mysewingpractice My favorite cardi pattern is FREE!!! Sinclair Harper. It’s a beauty and they even include Talls sizing. Also like my Marlo pattern.
Have a great time.
Thanks, I appreciate that! We are watching the grandkids for an entire week!
