All of this is so beautiful…thank you for sharing your journey with your Dad. I am on this journey with my Mom and I pray that I would continue to show my Mom that grace. Hugs to you 💋💨

What a beautifully written eloquent story honoring your precious father. Thank you for sharing it. My father also had alzeihmers and then got covid and passed away February 28, 2022 this year. He was a minister and loved by all. A precious, godly example and loving , supportive father. We miss him dearly. My heart is full of love and many memories are still with me. I hope to see him in heaven some day!

Beautiful, Kathy. I know mom was so grateful when you and Roger moved in to help. I'm glad you have the fun memories of Dad still close to heart. We were lucky to have him. I admire your bravery in facing and trying to understand your pain and consequences. Just know that you were and are loved by ALL your family. One of my favorite memories is a game the siblings played with you. The four of us would sit at one end of the living room, then make you go to the other end of the room and run to us. We competed for you. How special is that, lol?

Thanks for watching this Diane. I have a warm memory of everyone living at home, playing games , and just living life together, like the memory you describe above.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is a marvelous testimony. In my mind's eye I could picture your father and then feel the devastation as his all of you coped with a devastating disease and finally your father's spirit leaving his body. You're a gifted storyteller. I think your story should be published. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you so much for sharing your story.
I lost my sweet mother in law to Alzheimer's. My husband was diagnosed when he was 62. It became obvious that something was wrong when he wired a new bedroom for our granddaughter, all wrong. When my son discovered it he came to and said "Mom, he is forgetting how to do things he taught me how to do*.
This man lasted one and a half years to succumb to pneumonia resulting from aspirating his meds, a direct effect of the dementia. 12 days in ICU when he asked to have the ventilator removed so he could go home to be with the Lord. I agreed. His home going was precious but too soon. Far too soon.

Sue, I have chills learning of your story and the sadness your family experiences at the hand of this dreadful disease. You don't know how much I appreciate the courage it took to share this with me and my followers. I will say a prayer of comfort for you tonight.

Thanks Faith, after I hit publish, I have had some doubts as to the appropriateness of this video. We are all so complicated and tangled in our relationships. The best part was I expressed my honest feelings, those apart from others in my family. I have finally realized, I am allowed to have my experiences and interpret them on my terms.

@@mysewingpractice I feel like that’s a totally normal reaction to sharing something so personal on a public forum, Kathy. I remember when I first realised that I did not see the world or my own family dynamics the same way as my sisters. That really shocked me. Lol. We are all so different and I imagine that if your family saw your tribute, it would bless them to learn your experience.
