This is something that needs to be addressed. Game developers live for this kind of attention. And it's a good way of acknowledging the talent and hard work they put into making the games we love.
Sea of Stars, the performers in the taverns. Each pixel-art performer playing their instruments perfectly to the music, and changing animation for different styles on those same instruments (plucking a bass versus using a bow). Talking to an individual performer makes them stop, while the band continues to play, just without that instrument as part of the track. The musicians eventually get the ability to play their tavern versions of just about every track in the game, and the devs did this treatment for EVERY track they can play. It baffled me as an unnecessary detail that I definitely appreciated.
In Cyberpunk 2077 if you go in the database and look at "Driving" then "Choosing a vehicle", the developers mapped out driving styles for each vehicle such as FWD, RWD, AWD, Front engine, Mid engine and Rear engine placement. They provide realistic driving experiences in the game for each vehicle which I thought was really cool.
If you play Shenmue long enough, eventually it becomes Christmas and the weather changes to snow. Also, if I’m not mistaken, you can find a drunk person dressed as Santa leaving the bar. Always thought this was insanely accurate especially for a system as old as the Dreamcast.
Honestly, it depends on what interests you. Like pointed out above (or below idk) Oddheader is good if you like interesting Easter Eggs and stuff like that. But there are a few really good video game retrospective channels. And there are a few EXTREMELY good channels if you don't mind the mashup between video games and the particular TH-camr's other personal interests (or philosophical takes on mainstream mediums of art). That air conditioning sign next to the car wash sign is just as detailed, it lists the real world refrigerants that were out at the time, R134 and R12. Notice R12 only says "with deposit?" Thats because that one was discontinued in the 90's so it only had a limited supply left by the 2000's and it was probably being pretty marked up then too.
Was going to mention the AC sign as well - I own an auto repair shop and I'm an AC specialist. In addition to what @mattwolf7698 said, note that 1234yf is _not_ mentioned, as it wasn't yet a thing in the 2000s and didn't start to gain attention for automotive use until about 2009.

Speaking of Monster Hunter, in Monster Hunter: World Iceborne, there is this steam engine mini-game where if you send it to overdrive your Handler will throw sweet potatoes inside to cook them. Now there is a specific part of the main storyline in which your Handler will be unavailable and cannot support you therefore you are given a different Handler during her absence. If you were to do the steam engine mini-game during this sequence, your temporary Handler will show up during the engine overdrive cut-scene with her own unique animation that fits her personality. I was surprised that Capcom bothered to add that small and easily missable detail but I'm glad they added that in because I'm one of the few lucky players that stumbled across this.
I just knew Microsoft Flight Simulator would be in this list. Several pilots are fans of its accuracy. There's also Forza Motorsport where the weather effects on the racetrack are quite accurate simulations.
I’m sure only several pilots are fans of its accuracy as most of them laugh at it. It’s not even FAA verified so you can’t earn real world hours while “training” on it
My personal recent favorite crazy detail is in Alan Wake 2. If you shoot the office water cooler tanks in the game, the water drains out accurately. Shoot low first and the whole tank drains. A second, higher shot produces no leak. Shoot high first though and you can drain the tank bit by bit, bullet by bullet.
I've seen from a programmer that this is actually very easy to do. You just "synchronise" the water to the bullet hole. The rest is just "fancying" it up with water drainage and prevent it from going back up
my favorite game detail is plywood in RDR2, in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover, you will find the Manmade Mutant, the house its windows are boarded up with plywood. but plywood was not abundant at the time not tell around 1920. in the 1800's only towns near a port had any plywood... and that house is the only building with plywood on it and it's at a port!!!
I noticed that Aloy would rub her arms to try to warm herself up and say it sure is cold. I can't remember if she does it in Zero Dawn and or Forbidden West.
The phrase you want for number 2 rather than realistic is "internally consistent". The game says vampires can't come out in the daylight, so they can't come out in daylight. Internal consistency is one of *the* most important things in a story for me.
12:47 Fun side note: This username is probably Dutch (source: I am Dutch). It says: Snackbar De Vogel, which would translate to ‘Snackbar The Bird’ (a snackbar is a sort of small scale McDonald’s, I don’t know if it’s a known concept in the US). I think it’s funny for Falcon to come across this username!
Another seriously small detail in TLOU2 is at the workbench you get jumped at, there’s a jar of screws n nails on the desk that Ellie has to defend herself with on the fly, and after the fight is over if you go back to the workbench, when she sets her bag on the table it bothers the now loose nails
10:47 - “The fact that the initial bad-guys for the first three parts are Vampires that are transformed by a Magical-Stone-Mask, is one of the more reasonable aspects about, one of the more grounded Story-Telling-Elements.” 😂 I’m sold
What about the Ghost of Tsushima? That game is insanely detailed and one of the many quirky little things is the fact the weather changes depending on how you play the game. As Jin begins to abandon his honourable ways as a samurai as he becomes the Ghost, storms will become more noticeable, and depending if you chose to fight by direct combat, the weather will change accordingly to a less turbulent manner. But if you embrace more to the style of the Ghost by using stealth, storms will be more frequent and more aggressive.
I've driven a taxi in Finland. Taxi drivers here get all sorts of other little discounts too: Coffees are usually cheaper, restaurants may have taxi driver discounts especially at lunch time or during the night, or even special meals for them, and so on. Truck and taxi drivers also can use showers, break rooms and even saunas at gas stations. Hotels and B&B's might have cheaper rates. And so on.
The fact that they included a Monster Hunter game, in an already stellar video, makes love this video even more. Looking forward to the next video Falcon! Keep up the great work.
In the original Splatoon for WiiU (and again when inkopolis returned in splatoon 3) as you approach the audio rig near the tower in the plaza, the bass in the background music will get an equalization boost when you're standing near the subwoofers and the treble will get a boost when you're standing closer to the tweeters. This blew my mind when the game came out and it's details like that that led to the 1000+ hours I've put into the series since.
I love the little details like when Falcon says, “Goes above and beyond!” And it shows the the camera going to Birds Eye view from Assassin’s Creed…and cuz Falcon is also a bird!
Similar to metroid, returnal for the ps5 uses the new technology in the controls to simulate rainfall and what it would feel like hitting the suit through the controller. Its pretty wild
I've played the heck out of Horizon Forbidden West on PS4, and I'm shocked that I never noticed this yet! And I'm usually one to pick up on this stuff like grass actually being under the snow and things of that sort. Guerrilla really outdid themselves here!
having an eclipse in a simulator game is actually very well thought out… as it is something you do encounter and these simulation games are sometimes used as a low level training for real life events. especially pilots
The thing I've liked the most is the detail to both textures and coloring in Samus's Chozo Power Armor in Metroid Prime Remastered. I really need to get back to it to see if they included the Fusion suit, because if they did it'll be the best looking version of that suit yet (something that both the original and the trilogy collection on Wii didn't do so well with).
A couple honorable mentions for characters playing musical instruments in games: Days Gone, the guy at one of your camps who plays the guitar and sings is really playing the guitar, note for note, and it is amazing!! Red dead redemption2, when you go to Saint Denis and watch one of the live performance shows, just pay attention to the drummer, they got it, the closest I’ve ever seen for this type of game!!! Either way, I was blown away the whole time playing through days gone, and when I got to the camp towards the middle half of the game, where you have the gazebo where a few people will be hanging out each each day, the guy that plays the guitar in a kind of alternative rock style of music, he’s actually really good and it just made the game that much more immersive and detailed!!! Another good one would be the Witcher3 wild hunt the concert that you get to watch with what’s her name playing the ukulele or small guitar or whatever it is? That whole scene is amazing!
#10 - [GTA4] Car wash is $5 for cars and $3 for Taxis #9 - [Flight SImulator] Eclipses can be seen in game (though incorrectly) #8 - [Fallout: New Vegas] NPC who says has broken legs, actually has broken legs when viewed in V.A.T.S. #7 - [Horizon: Forbidden West] Cold actually turns fingers blue, and warm up when near a fire #6 - [Saints Row 2] Phone numbers shown ingame can actually be called ingame. For example taxis #5 - [Witcher 3] If you don't wear shoes when talking to Bootblack, Gerald will say that he will first put on shoes #4 - [The Last of Us: Part 2] If Ellie picks up a magazine in the aquarium, a glass bottle falls. If you return latter as Abby, the bottle is either broken or on the table depending what action you took with Ellie #3 - [Metroid Prime: Remastered] Raindrops flowing differently depending on the angle of your gun #2 - [JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R] When fighting as Dio, you can only fight on nighttime or interior stages #1 - [Monster Hunter Rise] Two Taiko drummers perfectly match the hub theme in their animation. If you change the hub music, they are on break
I don't know if anyone has said it, but the first time a vampire died from sunlight was in Nosferatu, the silent film. My favorite vampire is Carmilla and she goes about during the day all of the time.
A positive outlook on gaming on gameranx. Say less! Haha specially details. The instrument thing is surprisingly accurate on Fortnite Festival too. Wild
One that was talked about lot by now but people still seem to miss out if they are not in the known is on Totk, the torch in one of the promos and early cinematic when Zelda and Link are seen exploring the underground of the Castle, when you visit it on your way to the end of the game you can see that very same torch there. Idk, I just think that’s pretty neat.
In GoW-Ragnarok when you enter a building or cave from daylight you need to wait a bit to allow kratos' eyes to adjust to the darkness. And conversely when exiting he is blinded by the brightness. Never noticed that in any game before. Thought that was awesome
Back in the IRL counterpart to the times that The Witcher 3 is set, leather boots were expensive, and most people weren't just out killing bandits for the funsies to take their shoes, and they might not even fit. People did go around barefoot to spare their shoes if there were no specific hazards to their feet beyond that which their vision could protect them from. It's only with modern rubber soled shoes that we wear them all that regularly at all.
In Saints Row 3, there are random vigilantes that spawn on the map, and you can recruit them as followers. I once found one fighting with the STAG guys, and when I whistled a nearby gang member, he also joined me.
I like to give an honourable mention to Yakuza games, particularly Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased his Name. There's a few very very small details that you can miss if you don't take the time to explore and take in your surroundings that really showed the Devs love for the work done. There's quite a number of little details within that I found in my 66 hours of playtime before deciding to finish and complete all challenges. Even Yakuza 0 had tiny details easily missed. They're great.
Out of the details I saw in horizon forbidden west, I was surprised. Its real small details and all but dang...they went down to smaller details that make sense, seeing your characters hands turn blue for being in the cold so long.
Regarding #1, Lego Star Wars the complete saga, if you enable music in game, you can see inside the cantina the creatures playing their music. If you disable music in the settings they’ll also sit down.
If you do another list of this you need to include the fact that Sanji cannot hurt any women in any One Piece game, it's a very accurate detail to his character, very annoying on some missions but they at least work around it by allowing damage to be dealt by knocking others into female characters.
That mhr music is drilled in my brain and i actually knew about that drum thing because to get a trophy you must speak to everyone and make sure the music in the standard music or they wont be there
7:32 "(Where)withal" does NOT rhyme w/ "Wiffle". I've Discovered how Insane it is that Falcon can't be bothered to Accurately Detail & enunciate his words in his own native tongue JFC
Saints Row 2 does tell you that you can call the numbers. There is a throw away conversation in the game early on that mentions calling the number on a food truck or billboard. Its in the middle of an action sequence, so easy to miss, but it DOES tell you.
Along the same lines of Last of Us 2 remembering you broke the glass, in Fallout 3, NV and 4, if you move plates, bottles, glasses, cans or whatever around and come back to those areas later, everything is where you left it. If you drop a bunch of items, gear and weapons, they fall in a circle around you. They are still in that same place every time you come back to that location.
Talking about Dio and how choosing a stage matters made me remember how i got my ass kicked by a friend while playing Jumpforce using Sanji, i thought my pad was broken ans wailed through the match coz he wouldn't attack only to finish the match and my friends told me Sanji will never hit ladies....Simp on a whole new level.....i just couldn't 😂😂😂😭
I've actually noticed the Monster Hunter Rise taiko drummers playing accurately and stopped for a minute or two to checked them playind and found myself smilling. Once I've changed the music and saw them resting without playing the drum I was really happy!
❤️ I really do appreciate the finest of details in games now, because of different franchises that have seem to regress like far cry and assassin’s creed when it comes to the smaller details. I don’t know if it’s at the cost of graphics or those are things that they can’t put in a trailer to make more sales to less diehard gamers, but boy do I really appreciate them these days
That was one of the more obvious details in The Witcher 3...there are loads of them. Geralt's beard gorws back over time and in one quest Yennifer reacts if you've haven't shaved it. xLetalis has all that pretty much covered after 8 years.
@@tricky_flixtrue, the beard one is one of the first if not the first detail that we can tell from the beginning of the game. I personally didn't know about the boot detail, it is pretty cool.
In Metroid Prime, if you charge your blaster and shoot it at a wall while standing directly at the wall you can see Samues's eyes from the reflection of blast😊
Wish Starfield carried over the same sense of discovery that's found with the Fallout series. Yeah Starfield is huge but you feel like your seeing the same things on every planet
@@Chill_Mode_JD Exactly. Over 100 hours in also have to deal with it crashing every hour to every 15 min on my series x. Than every planet you explore for exotic loot and weapons and it just doesn't happen, No special weapons hiding anywhere in the random planets. Frustrating
I think it was in Morrowind when you become a vampire you can't be cured, and no matter what if you go outside during the day you take massive damage until you die. Fun mechanic
Pleasantly surprised to see the JoJo one on the list but in addition to those two games, it was like that in Eyes of Heaven as well. Love them keeping the attention to detail over several games!
Read dead Redemption 2 online when you play with the band in the moonshine shack and bust a move, while playing that instrument, you can notice that instrument isn't playing during the fancy move you performed until you hold it correctly and start playing again.
the darkness 1 does an amazing rendition of the areas around new york someone who went to my job corp verified the parts of new york and she said all of those things are there
This is something that needs to be addressed. Game developers live for this kind of attention. And it's a good way of acknowledging the talent and hard work they put into making the games we love.

it's almost 15 years old😔

Too bad they wasted time on that instead of making the game actually work then.

Another seriously small detail in TLOU2 is at the workbench you get jumped at, there’s a jar of screws n nails on the desk that Ellie has to defend herself with on the fly, and after the fight is over if you go back to the workbench, when she sets her bag on the table it bothers the now loose nails
10:47 - “The fact that the initial bad-guys for the first three parts are Vampires that are transformed by a Magical-Stone-Mask, is one of the more reasonable aspects about, one of the more grounded Story-Telling-Elements.” 😂
I’m sold
Did my man just say “where-with-ill”? 7:33
And “uh-Loy” 😂
You guys should do a video about the best start screens in games. Iconic start screens in games that you never forget! Nobody talks about it.
👍🏼
what about the uncharted 4? when Nate Puts the Light on SAM, Sam does that "put it away" face
Fr
having an eclipse in a simulator game is actually very well thought out… as it is something you do encounter and these simulation games are sometimes used as a low level training for real life events.
especially pilots
The thing I've liked the most is the detail to both textures and coloring in Samus's Chozo Power Armor in Metroid Prime Remastered. I really need to get back to it to see if they included the Fusion suit, because if they did it'll be the best looking version of that suit yet (something that both the original and the trilogy collection on Wii didn't do so well with).
It’s been 6 years and Falcon still pronounces Aloy’s name wrong…..that’s almost impressive
Probably on purpose... you commented on it... and I commented on your comment....
When you get your pants or shirt half wet in uncharted 1 that blew my mind back in 2007
spotting details in games is just another entertaining aspect of video games now. Seeing how games trying to imitate reality is just so satisfying
I love that you included MH Rise in your details list because I think MH isn't appreciated enough outside of the community.
I used to use the taxi service all the time in SR2. It was the games version of fast travel that was NEVER explicitly stated.
I’m convinced, Mr. Falcon pronounces characters names wrong purposefully to get people to comment about it. See, I’ve fallen for the syntax trap
11:28 bruh really? In Oblivion being a vampire was a commitment
Best Attention to detail award NEEDS to be a thing!!!
ngl, Aloy's fingers reacting to the cold is a pretty amazing detail!
Video idea… “Top 10 sandbox games where you have infinite freedom”
Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress and others
A couple honorable mentions for characters playing musical instruments in games:
Days Gone, the guy at one of your camps who plays the guitar and sings is really playing the guitar, note for note, and it is amazing!!
#10 - [GTA4] Car wash is $5 for cars and $3 for Taxis
#9 - [Flight SImulator] Eclipses can be seen in game (though incorrectly)
#8 - [Fallout: New Vegas] NPC who says has broken legs, actually has broken legs when viewed in V.A.T.S.
#7 - [Horizon: Forbidden West] Cold actually turns fingers blue, and warm up when near a fire
#6 - [Saints Row 2] Phone numbers shown ingame can actually be called ingame. For example taxis
#5 - [Witcher 3] If you don't wear shoes when talking to Bootblack, Gerald will say that he will first put on shoes
#4 - [The Last of Us: Part 2] If Ellie picks up a magazine in the aquarium, a glass bottle falls. If you return latter as Abby, the bottle is either broken or on the table depending what action you took with Ellie
#3 - [Metroid Prime: Remastered] Raindrops flowing differently depending on the angle of your gun
#2 - [JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R] When fighting as Dio, you can only fight on nighttime or interior stages
#1 - [Monster Hunter Rise] Two Taiko drummers perfectly match the hub theme in their animation. If you change the hub music, they are on break
I don't know if anyone has said it, but the first time a vampire died from sunlight was in Nosferatu, the silent film. My favorite vampire is Carmilla and she goes about during the day all of the time.
Driveclub also had super realistic rain on the windscreen, including reaction to turning and wipers.
A positive outlook on gaming on gameranx. Say less! Haha specially details. The instrument thing is surprisingly accurate on Fortnite Festival too. Wild
one more thing about the car washes in gta 4 if you bring a convertible car they wont bring it through the car wash but they will hand wash it
I love the Taiko drummer thing. Someone put in a decent amount of work to add this tiny detail.
U know Falcon's favorite NES game was Duck Hunt for sure. He prolly hit his baby falcon beak on the screen to get the ducks his first playthrough 😂😂
In Saints Row 3, there are random vigilantes that spawn on the map, and you can recruit them as followers.
I once found one fighting with the STAG guys, and when I whistled a nearby gang member, he also joined me.
Nice video 👍.. can't wait to see the details in gta 6..rdr2 already blew me away 😮😬
Thanks for the heart 🙏🥰
In nyc if you go to a car wash it’s like $16 but TLC vehicles(taxi Ubers) get like $14. That is pretty cool
Rockstar is on another level when it comes to little details that most gamers may miss
The way falcon pronounces Aloy at 4:40 hurts my soul
Is there a comprehensive list of every word that Falcon mispronounces in Gameranx videos? I'd love to see it.
“… as a little baby bird playing Nintendo.” 😂
You and me both Preyful Bird…. You and me both.
When GTA6 comes out, this type of videos can soleiy be dedicated to it. Gonna be insane
I've actually noticed the Monster Hunter Rise taiko drummers playing accurately and stopped for a minute or two to checked them playind and found myself smilling. Once I've changed the music and saw them resting without playing the drum I was really happy!
Great content keep it up falcon and gang
I’m still in awe of rdr2 and I just replayed it recently. I hope gta 6 is at least as good as rdr2
Nah mate, geezer on the sesh on a cotch leng ting gwarn
❤️ I really do appreciate the finest of details in games now, because of different franchises that have seem to regress like far cry and assassin’s creed when it comes to the smaller details.
I don’t know if it’s at the cost of graphics or those are things that they can’t put in a trailer to make more sales to less diehard gamers, but boy do I really appreciate them these days
great video
so a video idea (games that refused to die)
what do you think?
That was one of the more obvious details in The Witcher 3...there are loads of them. Geralt's beard gorws back over time and in one quest Yennifer reacts if you've haven't shaved it. xLetalis has all that pretty much covered after 8 years.
Gerald’s beard growing over time is probably one of the most obvious details you could have listed tbf, even more so than the boots thing
@@tricky_flixtrue, the beard one is one of the first if not the first detail that we can tell from the beginning of the game. I personally didn't know about the boot detail, it is pretty cool.
If you embrace the vampire side in skyrim you will take dmg, or was that oblivion? Nice content as always!
Just played untitled goose game. It was awesome to see that the goose's sound is different depending on the object that it has on it's mouth!
In Metroid Prime, if you charge your blaster and shoot it at a wall while standing directly at the wall you can see Samues's eyes from the reflection of blast😊
I am a huge horizon fan and I never knew that was a thing
Whats up falcon, good work
Wish Starfield carried over the same sense of discovery that's found with the Fallout series. Yeah Starfield is huge but you feel like your seeing the same things on every planet
You clearly do not understand thr system mechanics that run the machine. Bloody amateur hack
Wide as an ocean deep as a puddle right
@@Chill_Mode_JD Exactly.
Read dead Redemption 2 online when you play with the band in the moonshine shack and bust a move, while playing that instrument, you can notice that instrument isn't playing during the fancy move you performed until you hold it correctly and start playing again.
the darkness 1 does an amazing rendition of the areas around new york someone who went to my job corp verified the parts of new york and she said all of those things are there
You should do a video of best idle animations like the way crash bandicoot juggles apples or whatever when you leave the controler
Falcon carrying the Gameranx team on his back. Only good presenter on this channel.
I play brass instruments and Yakuza 0 has the realest depiction of a jazz band I've ever seen
ive seen videos of them and falco has played every game the hell man i wish i was in his position
