Ideally, you will fall right into the pond and live. One time, as I was falling I started hearing gun shots below. Hearing the praises of realistic and correct behaviour to break the water surface in Hogwards gave me a good chuckle when you then start swimming in full plate armour like it's made of foam
A buddy of mine cleared Morrowind in two jumps with a custom potion. He made it from the beach to the top of the volcano, then jumped to the far beach. Hit the ground in 2-foot of water, got stunned, and drowned lol.
My buddy and I cheated to set acrobatics into the thousands, and thought we'd try jumping across the map. WHOOMPH, straight into the air. Couldn't even see the ground. Five minutes later, no ground. I'm not convinced the character's even falling yet, but there's no point of reference to know. Ten. Twenty. No ground. We left it going, walked to the gas station, went and hung out at the park, and finally came back. Still in the air, but by some miracle of timing, maybe thirty seconds after we settled back in, the character hit the ground.
Great video, thanks Falcon! An honorable mention should go to Farcry Primal, where you get to jump off the Pardaku Lookout, great view over the map, totally optional, nice falling effect and you get a trophy for your trouble :)

That car hit Batman way harder than the fall from a 200 meter high building.... Also,i've jumped from this building in Fallout 4 in full power armor. Not a scratch.

Surprisingly my most memorable falling moment was Borderlands 2. Being prompted to jump by a friend, and then them having enough time to say “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY DID IT” while you fall. It was such a fun moment. 😅
In Spiderman 2, although the One Freedom Tower is the tallest point in the game, we get an even higher one temporarily in the game. In the finale, when the whole city is covered with Venom vines, there's a huge outgrowth above the Avengers Tower which slopes up. At the end of that is the technically the highest point in the game. From there you can glide across to May's house to start the final mission without using any power ups. Just one long glide. It was amazing
I'm glad to see "Crackdown" on the list. That game gave me vertigo. You next list has to have the jump from the tower into the underground toilet bowl in "Crackdown 2"!
Destroy All Humans 2 Takeshima Tower. Gotta have max jet pack upgrades so you can A) get on to the top antenna and B) slam the ground with a shockwave for that epic landing.
The fact that we complain about games (some complaining is warranted I agree) is insane to me. I can't believe how lucky we are to explore these vast open worlds to our hearts delight. Great video guys, cheers.!
Something about the source code Rockstar uses that without a doubt is so distinguishable from other open world games. You know when are playing a Rockstar game.
Immortals Fenyx Rising actually have a LOT of high places to jump through, and if you're into scenic exploration the better. The highest one is on the last chapter (peaked mountain), and if you jump or glide around, you'd be getting a slow, progressive change of season or theme while you're at it falling down~
In fallout 4, you can jump off of the brotherhood of steel's airship. In fact, the first time I realized that you can do it without dying by wearing power Armor was one of my favorite things in the game.
Oh man... the best moment in this entire video is when Batman lands clean on the street below like a total badass only to get plowed over by the oncoming traffic afterwards.
I ascribe to the "Squirrel Theory" of Spidey. His physical strength seems to FAR exceed the force of his fall from any height at all, unless he speared ALL the way down and went head-first into the concrete. Look at how much concrete debris has fallen on his head, or some of the shots he's taken from supervillains that undoubtedly exceed the force of his body-weight falling at terminal velocity in a neutral pose... thus, like a squirrel, he could fall from ANY height and survive... at least in earth's gravity...
It amazes me how many people still seem to think that you can’t jump off a building without a parachute in GTA V. And the game has been out for ten years.
Lol. I love seeing these if only to compare if I found the actual highest point in a game. Also, the final cut in the Batman segment where he gets hit by a car is brilliant. Lol.
Oh yeah, I'm very happy you guys put crackdown as number one! Played it so long ago with my best friend at the time, doing like, Ethernet cord linked tvs or something(can't remember) But crack down 2 and 3 have been some of the most fun I've had out of games! Fun video:):)
A couple years back I got suspended from Twitter for "promoting suicide" by talking about the giant dive jump in BotW. Since then I created a new acc, noticed I didn't care about Twitter, deleted that acc and my life is ever so slightly better. But I'll always remember the dumbassery of that suspension.
I always get that feeling in my legs whenever anything deals with heights, even in video games Yet ironically or maybe subconsciously to face my fears I really wanna go skydiving
Same, and I realised my real issue was UNSECURED heights On a roller coaster? No problem!! Near a cliff? Nope! Because I might fall down and somehow slide 50 feet across the ground and then go over the edge 🤣🤣🤣
I think there IS a way to get from the highest sky island in Tears of the Kingdom to the ground in the depths without even wasting a fairy 🤔 If you have the glide suit, you can dive off the bottom left point of the island above Lookout Landing, glide over to Mount Daphnes Well, and with a bit of precession diving, plunge through the well into the pool in the depths. That's about 3645 vertical units (not sure how big that is in meters, there's still debate over how much each map unit actually is). That said, if you want the highest dive, go to the southernmost sky island in North Gerudo Sky Archipelago, there's a float block you can take up to the top of the sky box. If you then dive from there (which should be a height of nearly 3200 vertical units) to Gerudo Summit Chasm, and then aim to land slap bang in the middle of Gerudo Canyon Mine, you'll have fallen about 4330 vertical units. That's further than if you tried to do the same dive into Hyrule Castle Chasm (which only goes down to -0999 versus Gerudo Canyon's -1130).
In Cyberpunk, the best building to jump off is the one where you talk to Kerry after the Us Cracks party. It's almost straight down, and no Super-hero landing can save you.
I'm not sure if this is already known, but I believe in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, if you max out acrobatics, you can't die falling down. I've jumped from ludicrously high places, and the most damage I take is half-ish.
A odd one here, but if you hold a lawn chair in Farming Simulator, you can run onto it, which will let you go up ridiculously high. I've never reached a ceiling since I keep falling off, but you can see the edge of the map, watch all the buildings unload, etc. And there's no fall damage, so you just drop back down to the ground without a problem, ready to do it again
How the hell do you guys consistently pop out this quality content. And the ideas are always watch worthy. How long will it be till you run out of ideas? Crazy...
Probably a lot of ideas come from the comments... You know people will talk all day about a game if they like it. Gameranx is some quality stuff though
For Dying Light 2, its quite easy. Either landing on the big blue bus or anywhere in the moat that surrounds the VNC tower. You dont take damage landing in water. Wanna do it again? Fast travel to the top
Fun fact: You don't need the boots to survive the jump off Mass Fusion in FO4. Aim your jump to land in the settlement of Goodneighbor, and you'll enter the town's interior cell before you hit, ending the fall animation and teleporting you safely to terra firma.
I was starting to get disappointed towards the end of this list, thinking that Crackdown was going to be snubbed.
