    Girl you just taught me alot. I watched alot alot of African movies and in love with the culture. The culture is similar to mine and wanted to learn a few words so I can learn a bit more. Hope to visit Nigeria someday.

    I am so happy that I found your challenge. I am Nigerian, half Yoruba half Egbo . Both my parents speak Yoruba. I don’t know Yoruba do to life situations. After watching this video I am most definitely sure I have been called these things. This is why I desperately want to learn Yoruba! I need to learn Yoruba

      Haiti is an African country basically, lol. when I first moved into East Flatbush Brooklyn and heard so many Haitians I though I had moved into an half African neighborhood instead of an all Caribbean hood. I ended up studying with a master Haitian drummer back then, but recently I was chilling with a friend from Benin City Nigeria and when he was playing his traditional music it was giving me serious flashbacks of Haitian traditional music

      @@proverbalizer there is a branch of voodoo in the north, called nago...there are actually lwa in the pantheon like legba, ogou and chango, yoruba deities.

      @@oritafilms yeah, Nago is the term for Yoruba descendant in Haiti, also in Brazil I believe. There are many different dialects of Yoruba and I think Anago was the name for one of the most western Yoruba groups in the region of Dahomey (modern Benin Republic)

    I am noticing that some of the insults deal with ppl not being able to make smart decisions, or have the intelligence or good sense. Sounds like my Southern American upbringing. Can I say that Yoruba ppl value common sense, intelligence and decency?

    I have a couple lesson requests: More with verbs, especially how do you say things in different tenses (past, present, future etc.)
    And a lesson on conjunctions and all types of little connecting words such as, and, or, if, but, however, because, so, when, which, that, who, to, for...etc.

    Eka rooo i'm Italian i've been in Lagos Ileja in the '70 up to' 80. I remember some insult but don't remember what they mean. Sorry don't want to insult any one here. Oriodda.. Orieffo....     I've never been insulted by any Nigerian (or at least I thought since I don't understand the language anyway 😆) .. All I got from them are positivity and good vibes in my experience .. And oh, Jollof rice .. Oh yes !! 😃😋

      Olodo means a stupid person, rabata is used to emphasize the person's stupidity. So Olodo rabata means someone who is very dumb.

      In Germany Mu´mu means cow. Wo´wow means dog, Ma´mau cat. a chow´chow is also a dog. Those are africans tribs, which went to Germany.

    So someone said to me the other day she is going to call me something...i'm not sure how to spell it but i found out from another Yoruba Colleague that it means Fake Yoruba man...she insisted it isn't an insult though. Lol.
