A weekday Advent liturgy at the House of St. Simeon and St. Anne in Jerusalem illustrates limited inculturation with Jewish tradition. Among the Hebrew-speaking Catholic community, Advent, which marks the beginning of the Church's liturgical year, is moved earlier to be closer to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. This makes the season more than twice as long as is typical elsewhere.

This is the original language of the mass. And the Catholic Church has continued the sacrifices to God unbroken since the sacrifice at calvary

Is there a printed Missal in Hebrew? How can we acquire one? Maybe we can start with the Ordinary of the Mass in Hebrew? Once we have mastered the Ordinary, then we can pass to learn the Mass Proper and the Lectionary.

I feel the need to learn Hebrew as a Catholic... how do I start? Where do I find a Hebrew Catholic mass? Should Hebrew Catholics wear a kippah??

So is the belief that Yeshua was born at Succot, and thus advent starts at the middle of Elul, goes through the Yamim Norim, and then the 15th of Tishrei would be the feast of the Nativity?
Also, is the Sunday obligation moved to Shabbat? Are they allowed to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Succot, Shmini Atzeret, Pesach, and Shavuot instead of the church holidays? I remind you that the early church had Messianic Jews living as Jews, but not Judaizing the non Jews. That it wasn’t until the evil decree of the council of Nicea that Messianic Jews were forced to give up their Jewishness. The council of Nicea was good as it solidified the doctrine of the Trinity, but it also had its errors.
Are they an eastern rite or a western rite?
As a baptized (but not practising) Catholic with Jewish roots (I was born to a Jewish teen, a rape victim, and adopted by a wonderful Catholic couple whom I still call mom and dad to this day), who is now living life as a Messianic Jew, I am quite curious and intrigued.

Hebrew Catholics are permitted to observe all Jewish holy days and religious traditions. They are the only Catholic converts permitted to observe non-Catholic religious practices because the Church views Judaism as the root of our faith, we have been grafted onto the vine. No other convert eg Muslim, buddhist, protestant etc are allowed to do this.
In Romans it says - By your baptism, you have been grafted into the Jewish vine. Catholicism is not a Gentile religion. It is the religion of faithful Jews into which Gentiles have been made acceptable.
You should watch Dr Brant Pitre channel Catholic Productions, he is a Professor of Ancient Judaism and the New Testament: he explains the link between ancient Judaism and Catholic practices which many today don't understand where we get it from. Ancient Judaism from Jesus time has little in common with Modern Judaism. Read the Early Church Fathers as well, most were jewish men who personally knew the Holy Apostles.

Catholicism as practiced today would be completely foreign to anything that Jesus and his disciples practiced. Gentiles grafted on to the Church, but purged it of Judaism rather quickly. They felt vindicated in their Anti-Judaism, because the vast majority of Jews rejected the Gospel narratives. I love Judaism. Catholicism is very suspicious to me. Catholics essentially took a Jewish Messiah and made the belief conform to their gentile way of life. Catholics not only disregard a Jewish way of life, but have utter disdain for it. Real Jews keep the practices of their forefathers, not the way of gentiles. Paul has confused the world. It is true that their is one God for everyone. However, there is one Torah for the Jewish people, and you cannot void it. The Law given to Moses was not for everyone in the world, but is only binding for the children of Israel.

How are you supposed to know who the priest is? Why doesn't he have a chasuble?

    • @michaelcaza-schonberger9282
      @michaelcaza-schonberger9282 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

We are all priests according to 1 Peter, furthermore, only the pastor wears his stole with the two ends over his shoulders. The deacons wear their stoles like a sash. If you’re catholic, you should know this.

How desacralized, banalized and poor liturgical celebration...the church is nothing but an empty hall, a guitar, no icons or religios images, no Christian or Jewish element at all.... no pews... how sad

Friend, when the LORD spoke to Abraham, he was not having anything that you mentioned
Neither did Moses posess anything what you mentioned when GOD called him or when the Israelites worshipped HIM in the desert
Neither did the Apostles have anything except themselves when they were gathered in the upper room praying, when the Spirit of GOD descended upon them 🙏
GOD searches the hearts and intent more 🙏 Peace be with you and GOD bless you !!

This guitar and versus populum orientation shouldn't take place in a Hebrew Catholic Mass.
