Hey man, great video, I also watched your follow up video regarding your Headman Header purchase. I was in the same boat as you, with a 64 Chevelle (on my channel). LS swapped with long tube headers. They were dragging and the car sat way too high, even over stock height to clear them. Was searching and searching for 3/4 length headers, but was leery of the $200 headers (I knew they were made in China). So I was glad to find your channel and this video series. I went with a set of Headman's (Made in USA). Yes, they were pricey, but also because I wanted ceramic coating. $748 out the door. Gonna go the same route as you with some Borla exhaust. I also have an H pipe, might look into the X pipe swap and probably will do a set of Borla resonators. I have flow masters and they drone like a night mare on the freeway and sound like broken glass in a blender when I stand on it. SUB'd!
I was recently in the market for a set of Mustang 302 tri y headers. I knew i would be heating them to tweak the fit for a F-150 install. The beggest concern i had with the EBay offerings was the 201 stainless versus 304. I went with a set of Scott Drakes for that reason. Will they hold up any better? The answer is like a glass coffin, remains to be seen.
What gearbox do you have in your car? I having trouble putting heaters into my car because the flange hit my 500 series gearbox. I’m thinking of buying the headers you got but that’s the reason I’m asking what gearbox do you have that way I won’t come across the same problem.
That thing being turned would not affect performance one iota. I bought the same ones and i can care less about that come my LS runs like a raped ape and i saved 100s of dollars. I love them. 20 years ago you would have paid $350 for those. All hail ebay!
They might be good headers for a tight fit but they burn up your spark plug boots because They don’t give enough clearance in between each spark plug but the spark plug boot will touch the tubing of the headers that’s why those eBay headers are a bad choice. They burn up spark plug boots like crazy. Stay away from the headers from eBay just buy cast-iron manifolds from hooker I’ve used those on so many different swaps and the exhaust always sounds nice.
And now I know who to blame. Haha joking but my eBay s10 swap headers don't even have a collector spike in them. Must have fired the blind guy just decided you were right since I'm not building a a race vehicle that I could just do without them. Of course since I purchased them in advance I had no idea whether they would fit in 60 days as it's been 6 months. eBay's a joke eBay is worthless eBay is the epitome of shit. I will not shop there anymore. Is the same thing that happened with a dirt bike mud flap just a few hours on it Acerbis brand I don't know if you were guessing or not but yep it's cracked all to shit. Yeah thanks for listenin'.
@@ClassicNation shame on you, iam 60 years old and I make a little over 50k a year, I always buy MADE IN USA when I can, we got to save our Jobs ,Please I beg you no more China junk parts on that old Chevy, Kids probably made them Headers Please Buy USA
@@steveblankenship2413 You'll be happy to know that I ended up sending this pair of headers back (the 2nd replacement was just as bas as the first two), and instead, switched to a pair of USA made Headman Headers.
Will they fit a 2005 Silverado short bed ???

Any fitment issues with hitting the steering box? I have an ls3 in my 65 impala with a borgeson steering box and CPP headers are touching
thanks for the gasket brand
O2 code in a 60s impala? Doesn't even sound right
Yes it does, because it is running an LS.
Cheap ebay headers are noisy because of issues like those , we had a set that was so bad sounded like a bad lifter making noise.
now i know what to look out for when buying ebay headers...
Happy to help!
any idea what shortie ss headers would fit on my vortec/5.3 LS into my 84 cutlass supreme?

Did you ever get the 3rd pair? If so how’s the quality?
Yep, I sure did! Headman 68710. They turned out great! Check out the updated video here: th-cam.com/video/WWMEzbMSwzs/w-d-xo.html

@@steveblankenship2413 Thanks for the input Steve. I too try to get made in USA parts when I can. Did you see the gaskets? Those are made in the USA.
