If you chop up drum loops you get the groove and feel live drums give, which is very hard to replicate through midi. You get the swing, authentic reverb and the same drum-set. Sounds more cohesive. Also, if you have the sample cut out at the end, you get that old school sound you hear in older records when they'd play it on the MPC. I highly suggest you actually get an MPC if you're into making boom-bap beats!
