- Today I find myself in the catskills of NY at the Homowack Lodge, a resort that was mainly Jewish clientele. The resort suffered a massive fire in early 2023, burning some of the buildings to ground leaving nothing but ashes. but some buildings still remain. join me as i take a look inside the remains of the Homowack Lodge
I was there in the 70s with my parent's.
Ohh cool, I saw pictures of it when it was open. I would've loved to see the bowling alley
Hey Jay! Just watched your joint explore with Mobile Instinct. Nice to find you. ❤
Thanks for coming
I was there when it was on fire. I was one of many firefighters trying to stop the fire
Ohh wow!!! Well you guys did great job saving what you could.
Just subscribed to your channel after watching the one with you and your friend at the abandoned steam engine in PA. Subscribed to his channel too. I love watching videos featuring abandoned places!
Awww thanks for the support it means a lot to me
My husband and I just came back from visiting the borscht Belt Museum in Ellinville. I donated several items to the museum.
That is awesome!
Thanks for sharing!
I was also one of the firefighters there. Took us close to 4 days due to rekindling. Main entrance was where the majority of the fire was.
Ohhh wow. Well you guys did a great job of saving what you could. Yeah I remember seeing the main entrance wasn't much left from that building
Came over from Mobile Instinct!!!! SUBSCRIBED!!!!
Thanks I appreciate it a lot

Wow... I love the pool area. To think of all the memories this place gave to so many 😔💙
So happy to see a video from you Jay!! Always enjoy your locations and the stories. Keep up the great work. Be safe 😊
Thanks! You too!
Bowling alley was cool ..Might still be under the burned part ..It was in the basement...Yes had a outside ice skating rink ..and skiing out back as well..small hill
I saw the ski area but I was running out of day light
Glad to see you! What a beautiful area, I bet that resort was pretty cool back in the day.
Really enjoyed your video! I wish I had a way to explore some place abandoned.
Thanks!!! I'm glad you like them.
@@journeywithjay you're welcome!
That's Wild brother!👍
It was known for its bowling alley, I've never seen a crispy bowling alley.
You did an exceptional job of documenting a fading piece of history from an era nearly gone but not forgotten. Excellent use of photos from the Homowack's heyday. I agree- it looks like what was once an incredibly beautiful place with lots of fun, rest, and relaxation for the whole family.
Thanks!!!!! I appreciate that.
Why were you demonetized?? I LOVE your channel!
It's because back in 2021 I was busy and didn't get to upload any videos in 6 months so it considered my channel abandoned ( how ironic right lol)
@@journeywithjayyou can start another one, worst case. Name it something similar like '2journeywithjay'. Folks searching old channel name would be directed to similar new name.
Thx f/posting & good luck 🌿
@@houseofsolomon2440 I'm close to getting it back TH-cam requires 4000 hours of watch time. And once I get that I will start getting a couple bucks each month to help pay for my gas driving to these places.
My family and I spent our 1 week vacation in the summer up there in the Late 60's to late 70's. I have many good memories. I can tell you where you were @ 4:28 that was the main dining room. 6:16 that's the coffee shop. Above the coffee shop were rooms. 7:07 that's a picture from the main dining room not the coffee shop. The place with the ice skates, I think was built after my time there. The outdoor pool looks like it could be cleaned up and filled with water. Thank you for sharing this video.
Ohhh wow thanks for watching and your info on the place I appreciate it
Just subbed. 😊
Thanks I appreciate your support
@@journeywithjay I got you! You have great content!!!
Yes jay can we get you to go upstate?😊
I travel all over. if there's a really cool abandoned building, I don't mind taking a road trip.
So noone chased you off the property? Its still accessible inside? Thanks so much for this!
No nobody bothered me at all. I even parked my car on the side of the road and walked over. Some of it is accessible and okay to walk around, other parts are a little sketchy from the fire.
Cool explore
Nice explore Jay. I think sometimes winter locations are the best.
Yo bro, great channel.....mobile,you and lamont are my favorites
I appreciate that a lot, thanks sooo much
Sweet find !
Sad to see that place in that condition a lot people grew up spending time there .
That could be a Bob's Discount Furniture . A mezzanine, nice! Yo, those Ice Skates!!! Sweet! I didn't expect to see a lot of stuff still there, thought they would have been empty shells. That hallway is shredded though. A lot of beds too. Great find and great vid!
Yeah this wasn't far from us when we were up that way filming
When did this establishment cease operations?
Wow! It must have been quite a nice resort
Hello just subscribed
Thanks!!!! I appreciate it
Just came from Mobile Instinct. I am subscribing.

Jay, I hope you carry some kinda protection -- You never know were you'll meet some 2 legged NY snakes --- Stay Safe !
Cool explore dude x I’ve seen explores of it before it was burned 🥵
Hey bro, I just found your channel, because you and Mobile Instinct like to go to inactive train lines, try following him bro, because I'm Indonesian, I also like to go to inactive train lines.
👍x.
The graffiti hoodlums always find these places don’t they? 🥺😭. No respect.
The name made it sound like a gay hotel.
You move the camera too quick and too often, I got dizzy and had to stop watching.
