  • Avocado Green Mattress inside cut away review and comparison to the original design. Having over 15 rears experience selling this design, we felt compelled to compare to our original design.
    Overall good firm bed with a conventional feel and good value for a natural bed. Excellent for durability. Not so great for side sleepers and curvy body types.
    What is inside that an avocado mattress that may impede performance?
    The Avocado green mattress cutaway reveals a lot about performance.
    1. The "radically honest" fire barrier ingredient is certainly not organic and plastic materials typically sleep warmer.
    2. the many stiff non-woven plastic fabrics inhibit body conformation.
    3. Gluing every independent pocketed coil to a top sheet of polypropylene ... umm... the wont be moving independent.

    Just a heads up for anyone interested, I spoke with Avocado a few minutes ago as I have them on my short list. I emailed them this video and they said none of the layers highlighted in it are used any longer in their mattresses, there is not any non-stretch polyester or polypropylene layers in any of the 2020+ models per their rep. Sent me a video they have showing each layer.

    This completely explains why I hated the mattress!! I really wanted to love it but my shoulder and hips could not sink in comfortably. I started getting really bad back pain because my spine was misaligned (I sleep on my side). I could not understand why, but now I see it must be the polyester layers

    I find it funny that there aren’t many reviews of their mattresses on TH-cam done by a regular person that doesn’t work for a review page. There was one but I can no longer find it. She said she had the eco and had to buy a topper.

      AVOID AVOCADO MATTRESS!!! This overpriced mattress was a nightmare. Took few months to receive it, then within a year, it started sinking, and we started getting body pain. The warranty process was long and complicated, we ended up just donating the mattress. What a waste of $3,000. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. It's very unfortunate because I had high hopes for this so called organic mattress company! Biggest wasteful purchase of our lives!

      It’s odd that the online reviews are done by people that are in the reviewing business. Occasionally, you’ll find a real consumer and for some strange reason these reviews disappear quickly. We’re just looking for someone trustworthy and truthful, not someone getting paid.

      If it is hot, it might be due to that there are synthetic materials in it (poly) which don't breath the way natural materials do. Instead of polyester, they might have use flax or hemp material, or a cotton. This video is an eye opener!

    • @DesignSleep
      @DesignSleep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The beds are ok. They have a classic conventional feel. So it feels like what people are used to. Next level Ergonomics mandates elastic surface tension. That has been compromised in this design, however it gives a classic conventional feel for a firmer bed.. When it comes to individual comfort one side firm one side soft and tailoring the mattress obviously they cannot do that periform this.. We want to avoid mattress returns from the bed and the Box world. So clear reviews that mention some of the design issues are what is necessary.We are just trying to help.

      @@designsleeprefreshlife71 you are welcome and I like the fact you display it visually. In the time I grew up you lived with what you had and I don't ever recall having the option to return something 'just because'. There are reasons and then this new model where the bed companies send out mattresses by mail and claim only 9% return the bed. In my day if you made a bad decision you lived with it. It now makes me rethink everyone I am in business with and the old saying you need to know the other person and not yourself. This world is in trouble

There was no way for me to ruly know that until I tried it, so thank goodness I can return my "mistake."
