Thanks for your insight. So now I have a question. I sew canvas for boats and golf cart enclosures. I have left over canvas and vinyl that is not really enough to make an additional piece. I have had this material for several years and the amount is growing with each project. Can you give me any ideas for getting rid of it for fun and profit and keeping me out of the pool halls? all the best neal sw fla.
Hi Neal! Sure, you can definitely sell your pieces of leftovers. I just did a quick search on Etsy for "canvas pieces for crafts" and had some interesting results. First, someone is selling a 44"X64" inch piece in a roll for $49.95 with free shipping. But the second result is more interesting! This seller is selling small pieces by the pound. They advertise it as free (Almost) They sell 3 pounds for 22 cents! But here's the kicker... The shipping is a flat rate of $32! I know of discount shipping that would cost around $12 clear across the country! Let me know if you want to know more. More about this in my upcoming livestream. Thanks!
Neal... I was thinking about your canvas. I have a laser engraver. I know there are a lot of laser engravers that actually laser designs on canvas. If you decide to sell your canvas on Etsy, I would highly suggest that you target the laser engravers...
@@nealhere Hi Neal! I believe that you answered your question in the wording of your question! You need to get your left over canvas into those very pool halls that you are trying to stay out of! I am sure they have bar stools in those establishments that could be in need of a new canvas or vinyl cover, heck, even a customized one with the logo of the business. You would get paid for putting pool players butts on your scrap canvas and vinyl left-overs! If you can stay away from the tables you could turn a profit 😆 Stay safe and have fun! ZZ Mark
"don't get hung up on the walmart way of thinking" -- SO TRUE. I want to learn how to make cabinetry - the stuff sold at home depot and lowes is crap and does not last. Norm Abrams showed us how to build before there was youtube. - I remade one table using laminate and it was fun and it came out great. FWIW.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's inspiring to hear about your journey with cabinetry and the fun you've had with it. Keep up the great work!
Great video. I think it is important to do what you enjoy in your retirement years. I am 65 and I plan to retire at 67 from my job of 25 years. Then I plan to do my TH-cam channel full time. it's another way of making an income from something you love.
This is great video with excellent information. I agree that for me, at this point in my life, it’s just a game that keeps me active. Some make money and some are simply for the creative outlet. I have hats made in a design that I create, I set up a booth at a local parade, and sell them. I only make a few dollars each, I’m sure I could get more online but then it might be an actual job, and it’s fun to see people wearing my stuff around town.
Looking to start side hustling on Etsy etc with 3D prints, laser engraving and woodworking. I'm STRUGGLING with a name. Want to do my own website as well.. 😩
Great! A nice thing about Etsy is that you can have multiple stores. (I have 5) This way, you can have individual stores to highlight each offering category which will benefit you. As far as names, I highly recommend you check out Domain Name Soup. It's a word spinner that not only can help finding a name, but also if the name is available. If you want more info about setting up a website, just let me know! I checked out your channel and subbed! Thanks for commenting!
@@repairsrule thank you. My YT is a hodge podge too. Didn't know way back when if I could get several up to adsense... STILL waiting on getting the hodge podge up to 1000.
I am 63 and truly want to retire but. Can't get SS right now.I need a part time job to allow me to get off my feet for 12 hrs.I need tge moneBut I dont want to work with the public or ckean houses or babyset.Any tips for me?
Hi Sandy! Interesting comment... It appears that you are looking outside the box (cleaning houses and babysitting). But I'm not sure what you mean about working with the public. That is where the money is, even with house cleaning and babysitting. I assume you don't want to work in a retail setting or a phone representative. I have a couple of questions... How large of an amount of money do you need? The quickest way to a larger sum is by selling something. Also, any hobbies? That's the way to create a more passive income. Thanks for the comment and question!
