Honestly this is perhaps the most frustrating of these. Oh sure technically its not that bad, but the message is disgusting, and frankly the whole thing reeks of gentrification. I never really thought I had strong feelings on graffiti, but this really pissed me off. They never really respond to Zeke's comment about the art representing the citizens, sure you can make fun of how lackluster the graffiti was. However the story essentially amounts to literally whitewashing the neighborhood, saying how it has degenerated while just showing some people sitting on a stoop (the horror!!), and acts like images of nature are more reflective of the people. End of the day I guess the art does represent them, it represents the gentrified, whitewashed attitude of this community. Also while I don't particularly care about graffiti in general, there is a genuine reason why I am pissed about Zeke's point getting utterly ignored, cause graffiti can genuinely be representative of civil strife. From the graffiti on the walls of the Budapest train station from migrants locked into those deplorable conditions, to graffiti calling for solidarity in predominantly black neighborhoods being oppressed. To write graffiti off entirely, and to ignore the point about it being representative by just saying its ugly essentially amounts to saying "stay in your lane". It can be a form of non-violent protest, and that needs to be recognized
ahh I see The Tandy WHiz kids are the TRUE villains of the Jet Set Radio games and yes, calling graffiti bad and ugly without really explaining why is pretty dumb. especally since they really only focus on like one group who just use the exact same tag all the time. I have seen some rally good and creative works of grafffiti and even my mum and her girlfriend appreciate graffiti art. This comic was basically written by a white guy who just didn't like or understand youth cultur and demonised it because it wasn't wha HE thought was okay.
Yeah, I really didn't expect the "last" Tandy Computer Whiz Kids comic to end on a message of white supremacy, but here we are. Truly, the Darkest Timeline.
It honestly does come off as the Whiz Kids trying to sterilize this neighborhood that isn’t even theirs in favor of their “beautiful” artwork while shaming this kid and telling him to do things their way. Couple that with them painting their mural in the exact same place and with the same person and it really makes it seem like it’s more about the superiority of how they do things then anything else.
They're basically discriminating against all graffiti because some people draw swastikas or swear words or sex references in public places, sure the offensive stuff should be gotten rid of, but sometimes graffiti can give a neighbourhood a certain sense of character. You know more about a graffiti adorned neighbourhood than one which is just white.
“You shut up and learn the quadratic equation dangnabit.” That is all too real. I mean, why did High School teach that when most of us use basic Algebra at best post college? Speaking of education, schools should have taught us Excel and Quickbooks because they are becoming more of a requirement in the office setting. I mean we really only learned alphanumeric keyboard, Word, and PowerPoint. Unless you have 10 key typing in some places, you are in a very bad spot at the office. I may have gone on a tangent here, but teachers could have better prepared us for today’s job market rather than irrelevant mathematics.
Consider yourself lucky that you got *_actual_* math, hope you never fall into the rabid hole of "proofs" and "axiomatics" Spoilers: There's your reason math is separated from science.

Was anyone else a little uncomfortable over the fact that the black kid was a tagger and needed the whitest possible people to show him the error of his ways? Anyway, welcome to the end of an era, cheers everyone.
yeah.. the first black kid they show in the comic as a main character and he's technically an innercity criminal that has to be saved by the old people and the white kids from a potential life of crime :/ I also agree with Linkara, trading one piece of graffiti for another cause you like it more just feels icky, like gang signs or hate speech ( swastikas, " go back to where you came from", random cuss words, SS symbols, and etc) to give a few examples are understandable though. it's definitely a case by case thing though. I'm also for someone destroying it though if it's their building and it's done illegally and they don't want it there, that's their choice. though as Linkara also points out I'm sure graffiti is the least of their problems. abandoned cars on the street, trash everywhere, loose or broken fences and boards from buildings, this might just be from it being stylized or old, but are clouds supposed to be yellow? ( so pollution in other words). looks like a corrupt government :/
@@Ijustwatchthevids Not really especially since he eventually gets assimilated by Alec and Shanna and starts having the same PSA+Promotion dialogue that everyone else has.
I also noticed that in their final mural, all the people on one side were black and all the people on the other were white. With some old guy who looks like an authority figure standing as a barrier between them.
@Mullerornis "racist" yeah, old ass comic made at a different time period is suddenly made by "racists" I think you need to go back to history. Since plenty of art, specially graffiti is pretty much like that. Hell there is a graffiti near where I live that not a single white person is on it. Only blacks smiling. Guess I should be calling whoever made that racist as well right?
And so here we are at the end of an era. The final Tandy Computer Whiz Kids comic. I'm kinda sad now. No matter how goofy and bizarre the situation was, they always brought a smile to my face.

A nitpick with the art, but that wheelchair ramp @11:26 is a death trap - Granted, attempts at wheelchair ramps to make places accessible that are actually death traps are frustratingly common, but... Maybe a senior center should not have a wheelchair ramp that's dangerous to navigate? (Double checking, the recommendation at least in the UK is 1:12 for unassisted navigation and 1:8 for assisted)
"The Answer to a Riddle" was the first episode of Atop the Fourth Wall that I ever watched, so the Whiz Kids do actually have a bit of a space in my heart, especially since its thanks to AT4W that I got into comics. My only regret is that we never found out what Alec and Shanna did on their Summer vacation.
And thus, by linkara set the whiz kids free with the help of nimaway by overriding the giant Tandy computater and defeating miss Wilson with the 90s kid by him being the 90s kid and using commodore. That would be the ultimate ending to the saga
So I thought about what happened to the people of this comic. Detective Shaw, for incompetent police work and letting kids do his work for him, ended up fired and was never seen again. Mrs. Wilson was eventually confronted by the principal of the school and the police for her running the Cult of Tandy and trying to brainwash kids into worshiping an outdated computer system. However, she killed herself before they could catch her and left a note about how the glory of Tandy would live forever. The kids themselves were treated for their brainwashing and eventually they were released to go back to society. Alec and Shanna though were so brianwashed by what Mrs. Wilson did that they've been permanently scarred by the whole thing. Today, they're still in a mental ward with doctors trying to break them free of their obsession over Tandy and hope one day they'll be cured. Feel free to come up with your own ending about what happened to these characters!
Detective Steve Shaw became so stressed for declaring war on drugs that he eventually started using them himself. He was soon fired from the Coastal City Police Department. He lost his wife, he lost his job and due to the drugs he kept taking he became crazy and depraved, feasting on rats and wandering across America until he found his way into Gotham City. He was last spotted in close proximity to Wayne Manor... And nobody's seen Bruce Wayne in a while. Mrs Wilson withdrew from society as did her husband. Returning to her home town to raise her daughter. Seems all innocent and cute until you realize what her intent was. For you see she did not love her daughter, she wanted to sacrifice her to create a magical weapon that would smite those who did not believe in the God of Tandy Computers. Her life ended when the weapon burned her mind, destroying what remains of her and the Cult of Tandy. The lost weapon is currently in the possession of a... Linkara? Meh I'm sure nothing significant will ever happen there. Alec and Shanna now broken by their mental conditioning returned to the 'Camp for Disturbed Youngsters' where try as the staff might, they simply could not be broken, and were last reported to have disappeared. Funnily enough ancient legends and texts from alternate universes fill the pages of the Absent Grimore. Tales of Reapers who guide lost souls to the otherworld, taking them to a realm wherein individuality is stripped, their essence laid bare where all that remains is the very fragments of what remains of the beings once known as Alec and Shanna... Now Outer Gods.
Man, I’ll miss the Whiz Kids. Always one of my favorite recurring segments. Also, the art in this is actually pretty good, definitely in the Archie house style
Come on, kids, the argument against graffiti vs. other artforms is a simple one; art shouldn't make you think "I have to avoid this place because I might get mugged." "It puts a smile on my face, and hopefully talking about them the last several years has put one on yours too." Indeed it has. To Tandy!
The final Tandy Computer Whiz Kids Comic... For now. You'd better watch those tasty words Linkara because this may in fact inspire people to create a sequel to the Tandy Computer Whiz Kids comics purely so Ms Wilson and her overlords at the Tandy Corporation will continue to produce comics FOREVER!!!
@@theshenpartei For now... But soon Alec and Shanna will rise again, and the world will soon be gripped in fear and terror of its leader Ms Wilson as Earth will become enslaved by its NEW MASTERS The Tandy Corporation.
So many things brought to an End this year. Between Avengers Endgame, GOT Season 8, SW Ep.9.... and now the most heartbreaking of all. The end of the Wiz Kids
I think using the context of the graffiti kids saying they wanted to express themselves, I think their graffiti represents their frustration and anger with things. The red of the figures, all three having angry mouths, and the lightning, all representing frustration or anger.
See, in a BETTER written comic, the author could've given Zeke a well-structured counterargument on the merits of graffiti as an art form--- how it provides commentary on important social issues, how it can showcase the vibrancy of a community living within a certain neighborhood and bring awareness to its history through art and self-expression. But then again, since when did the Tandy Computer Whiz Kids care about nuance?
R.I.P. Tandy Computer Whiz Kids reviews. You brought us laugh like Mrs. Wilson steals school funds to bring in devices and computers to show to her students, giving us advice that all drugs and strangers are bad, students tells their summer vacation every single god damn time, and many more bullshit that brought me with a smile. Will missed you.
"Due to the success of the Whiz Kids' Community Action Program, graffiti was completely wiped out in America. In unrelated news, 99% of land owners are going bankrupt following the property values of their owned buildings decreasing exponentially thanks in part to the rash of perfectly legal happy sunshine murals being painted on every building in the country. America has certainly never been more beautiful."
There's gang activity in my area. We have some murals on some stores. The gangs will tag telephone poles and other walls readily, but they never touch the murals. Your guess is as good as mine as to why.

It can be a form of non-violent protest, and that needs to be recognized
ahh I see
The Tandy WHiz kids are the TRUE villains of the Jet Set Radio games
and yes, calling graffiti bad and ugly without really explaining why is pretty dumb. especally since they really only focus on like one group who just use the exact same tag all the time.
Graffiti can also help give future historians insight into the society's that created the graffiti.
“You shut up and learn the quadratic equation dangnabit.”
That is all too real.
Consider yourself lucky that you got *_actual_* math, hope you never fall into the rabid hole of "proofs" and "axiomatics"
Spoilers: There's your reason math is separated from science.
As someone in STEM I use the quadratic formula all the time so instilling it early was good for me 🤷🏾♀️ sorry I guess
Juan León proofs are useful up since some careers require theorems that need proving.
I think it'd be hilarious if the Tandy Computer Whiz Kids came back as villains. Have the kids grown up in their late 40s and trying to commit crimes with their hilariously outdated tech.
Graffiti is nothing but death... and crime... and the rage of a beast.
I can just feel Miles Morales flipping the bird at this thing.
You think he'd burn this book?
Yes, and it would be Miles Morales from ITSV.
@@DarsiPadilla Yeah I feel like the graffiti thing only applies to the movie version
Miles would be assimilated into Ms Wilson's class to replace Alec and Shanna as one of the Tandy Computer Whiz Kids.
@@TheSkully343 NOOOOO!!!! Just assimilate Riri Williams or Moongirl (not because of skin or gender, but because of bad writing meant to demean long-established geniuses like Reed Richards and Tony Stark).
Darsi Padilla Silly Darcy, they’re not current DC universe characters.
“I liked the one that had computers in it!” I liked the one with Super Girl. I woulda liked if they did a crossover with Magic School Bus. Also Mr. Computer is best boy.
Miss Frizzle would kick Miss Wilson's ass
Magic School bus is too dignified and realistic/smart for Tanndy.
I like the one where Mother Nature is an alien. Not joking.

The final mural looks like something Principal Skinner would want.
What I'm saying is: could anyone set it on fire too?
I wonder how the Tandy computer Whiz kids would react if they watched the Into the Spider-Verse's version of Miles Morales and his grafitti paintings
I seriously question what the Tandy Computer Whiz Kids would be like as adults.
Michael Acuna maladjusted and paranoid?
Alec and Shanna would later become interns at Faux News.
I don’t think Ms. Wilson allows them to age. Summer vacation time loop, remember?

I'm sadden, these were like some of the best reviews, making fun of Neo Liberal Capitalism trying to seem concerned with social issues. I hope for a sequel with Banksy beating up these kids.
Was anyone else a little uncomfortable over the fact that the black kid was a tagger and needed the whitest possible people to show him the error of his ways?
Anyway, welcome to the end of an era, cheers everyone.
yeah.. the first black kid they show in the comic as a main character and he's technically an innercity criminal that has to be saved by the old people and the white kids from a potential life of crime :/
I also agree with Linkara, trading one piece of graffiti for another cause you like it more just feels icky, like gang signs or hate speech ( swastikas, " go back to where you came from", random cuss words, SS symbols, and etc) to give a few examples are understandable though. it's definitely a case by case thing though.
On the plus side he's the most normal kid? I'm sure it doesn't help much..
Can definitely see the "Helping Each Other" mural being scrawled over pretty quickly, the park view one may well last though.
12:34 No, that's not white, it's chrome. Because everything will be chrome in the future!
I don't see anything wrong with Graffiti, It's just another form of Art, Just on street levels, I know because I have a DeviantArt Page.
There is a message captioned under the mural, but the real message is "CONFORM CONFORM CONFORM CONFORM...
Well, goodbye Whiz Kids. You got me into AT4W, and I’ll always be thankful for that. Let us remember what they have told us. ALL DRUGS ARE BAD.
Another comic series coming to an end. Marville, ASBAR, and now TCWK are complete. What will be next to be done?

And so here we are at the end of an era. The final Tandy Computer Whiz Kids comic. I'm kinda sad now. No matter how goofy and bizarre the situation was, they always brought a smile to my face.
This is the end of an era.
We need a new So Bad It's Good comic series for Linkara to talk about!
Rest In Peace, Tandy. You shall be missed.
*Places not in between shall and be* There, fixed it.
You spelled shall not wrong
I’m just waiting for the day Alec and Shanna joins the DCEU.
They’d be portrayed as cyborg minions to Brainiac...if DC had the guts to do a Superman film that focused on a villain besides Luthor.
Colin Farrell would be a good choice for Detective Shaw.
This is great! Thanks for covering all of these.
"Thank you! I hope to someday paint a mural!"
*Gasp!* That nice of lady is planning on making... making... GRAFFITI!
I thought better of you, Mrs. Riley. I really did. *sob*
"Forced into retirement" sounds a bit optimistic for Ms. Wilson's bloody takeover.
Farewell to the Time Warping Children of the Damned known as Alec and Shana
And thus, by linkara set the whiz kids free with the help of nimaway by overriding the giant Tandy computater and defeating miss Wilson with the 90s kid by him being the 90s kid and using commodore. That would be the ultimate ending to the saga
This comic is weirdly horrifying if you've ever read the novel "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison.
You know this book came out before schools had real problems when they’re treating some paint on a wall as the most vile sin of all.
That thief in the comic looks like a luchador...
10:54 - 4: never get involved in a land war in Asia.
You missed that one Lewis, shame on you.
Excuse me, the gang from Jet Set Radio Future would like to have a word with these kids about graffiti.
Press F to pay respects for The Tandy Computer Whiz Kids. I'm gonna miss this sub series.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Come on, kids, the argument against graffiti vs. other artforms is a simple one; art shouldn't make you think "I have to avoid this place because I might get mugged."
"It puts a smile on my face, and hopefully talking about them the last several years has put one on yours too."
Indeed it has. To Tandy!
Wow it's an end of an era, thank you Lewis for these kickass hilarious reviews!!!

That line about schools not teaching kids about taxes is so true it hurts a little.

I figured it out. Alec and Shana are part of the Society of Light. That's why they painted the park like that.
The recommended videos for this video are something else!

Oh my god we're getting the Captain America cross over with Reagan's Raiders! This'll be genius!
