As a retired optician, I was an optician for 38 years, I think Zenni Optical is a great way to save money on prescription glasses. and they are one, if not, the best on line glasses sites out their. I first became aware of them several years before I retired when one of my lovely opticians was told about an on line glasses by a patient. Since she wore glasses herself she couldn't wait to check out that site and then she found several more sites as well. She soon told all of the other girls in our store about these glasses sites and it wasn't longer before they were all starting to order their own glasses and prescription sunglasses from several of these sites. Being their manager, as well as their friend, I was a bit skeptical of these sites as to just how accurate the prescriptions would be on these glasses they were ordering. So I insisted that they would all allow me to check the prescriptions of their glasses before they started wearing them. I was pleasantly surprised to find that in every case the glasses were made in the correct prescriptions needed by my girls. I also was very impressed with the quality of their glasses. So much so that I wrote down the names of the 3 sites I liked the best. They were Zeelool, Eye Buy Direct and of course Zenni Optical. They are all 3 very good but I have been ordering from Zenni and have ordered well over 100 pairs of glasses for my own family members as well as many many friends.
So if you started wearing glasses in the 3rd grade that would have made you around 8 years old and still very early in your growth years. That meant that your eyes were going to be needing increases at the rate of about every year which also meant you were needing new glasses every year as well. I was just talking with someone that got her first glasses back in March of 2020 at the age of 14. Her first glasses were only -.50 and she was only wearing them when she felt she needed them. But she has since started leaving her glasses on all the time and even with her glasses on things are becoming more and more blurry. She knows she needs stronger glasses and is planning on going in December. for an eye exam and new glasses. I think nearly every girl that enters high school wearing glasses usually switches to contacts so they don't have to wear glasses as much. I'm sure that's mainly has to do with boys and the feeling that they look better without glasses. I'm not sure but it sounds like the condition you had that prevented you from wearing contacts anymore is called "Blephartis" somewhat common for contact wearers.
I'm not going to review each and every pair of glasses that you featured in your video but as an optician I am going to try and pass along some advice for when you order your next pairs of glasses. Remember in my 38 years as an optician I fitted many hundreds of young ladies with their glasses. Now I realize that ordering on line doesn't allow you the advantage of trying them on but theses things should still be of help. The first thing I looked for was the overall fit, meaning that you never want your glasses too wide or too narrow. In nearly every case your glasses are just slightly too wide for your face size. The next thing I look for is to check that that the eyes are as close to being centered in your lenses as possible. If you look closely you will see that your eyes aren't nearly centered from left to right. Next thing is that you never ever want the top of the frame of your glasses blocking your eyebrows. Now for the glasses you already have this is a rather easy fix. The ones with the adjustable nose pads you simply spread the nose pads out slightly which will allow your glasses to sit slightly lower on your nose and also lower the frame so the top of the frame is slightly below your eyebrows. The molded plastic frames you need to take to any optical store and have them fit them for you. They can heat the frame slightly to spread the nose area slightly. Lastly the bridge needs to fit nicely across the nose which that doesn't seem to be a problem with any of your glasses. I like the styles of frames you have chosen for your glasses, but I agree that #782419 is in my opinion too bold of a frame and you are attractive to be covering so much of your face up with your glasses. You always want your glasses to enhance your looks not hide or cover your looks. I'm just curious if all 20 pairs of glasses you showed are in your current prescription? Also considering that you have worn glasses since you were in 3 rd grade your glasses don't look all that strong. Do you mind me asking what your prescription is? I'm thinking maybe somewhere around -3.00 to -4.00?
Do you happen to remember if your prescription increased during your pregnancy? I'm asking that because about 50% of the time eyesight is effected by pregnancy. For someone like you it would only mean a an increase in your prescription but for those young ladies always had perfect vision they would now be wearing glasses for the first time.

Hey! Thank you so much for your insight. I don’t remember what my script was when I was younger but since I was in college and started ordering from zenni it has stayed at -2.25 in my left eye and -2.5 in my right eye! These are all the same prescription. I go get checked once a year and the year I was pregnant they didn’t change either! I think my doctor made a comment about my eyes being dry when I was pregnant but that was it ☺️
@@HanahFiles Thank you for your reply. Probably when you got you first glasses you were somewhere around -.50 or -.75. That's rather normal for first time glasses wearers. In most cases peoples eyesight becomes stable when they are in their early to mid twenties. It sounds like your eyes became stable even earlier than that maybe. It's really nice that you're only ordering new glasses because you want new ones ant because you need stronger glasses. So you have yourself what I would call a very nice "glasses wardrobe" But since you can't wear contacts anymore and you do pretty much need full time vision correction having such a nice collection to choose from everyday has to make wearing glasses much more enjoyable than if you only had one pair to wear everyday. But your eyesight is considerably better than I thought and part of that was based on you getting glasses when you were 8 years old. I assume that the dryness stopped not long after having your baby?
I saw that you're a teacher and i'm sure other teachers have complemented you as well as commented to you about all the different pairs of glasses they see you wearing. have you told therm about ordering glasses from Zenni?
@@soundmanpt oh yes the teachers I work with love my glasses! I actually helped one of my coworkers order some on zenni the other day! I’m always recommending zenni. Any time people post on Facebook about glasses everyone is always tagging me so I can tell them about zenni. We live in a very small town so it’s funny how everyone knows about my variety of glasses 🙈

@@HanahFiles That doesn't surprise me at all. Think how boring it would be if you only had one pair of glasses and was wearing that pair everyday. You have to enjoy being able to match your glasses with different outfits each day. I figured you were probably letting all of your other glasses wearing friends know about Zenni anytime they commented on your glasses. This may surprise you but are you aware that's theirs a glasses monopoly? When you get a chance you need to watch this video from several years ago here in You Tube called "Sticker Shock: Why Are Glasses So Expensive?" It was from a "60 Minute" segment. Have you ever heard of Luxottica"? They are based in Austria and they are a very high end eyegllass manufacturer. But they also own Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision, Target Optical, Sears Optical, J.C. Penny Optical, Sunglass Hut and several; others as well. They also own Ray-Ban and Oakley and several other well known designer brands. Their biggest competition is from the on line glasses sites and the owner of Luxottica is constantly trying to get them shut down.
I also want to tell you how much I appreciate what you do being a teacher. Teaching is hard enough in normal times but 2020 has made teaching many times worse. Even before the pandemic teachers deserved far more pay than what they are paid and now it would be hard to ever pay you and other teachers enough. So thank you for what your doing. Please stay safe and healthy as well.

I love my Zenni's, but keep in mind the lenses will up the price. Still cheaper than any store to get progressive lenses. I think all of them look good on you

You are not including the amount they charge for the lens/scratch proof/thin lens part ($20-$50). That is separate from the frame and $4.95 anti reflective.

Your lighting issues can be resolved by keeping all the light behind you . Eg: window lighting , sun , lights etc. You are so versatile in your treasury of of glasses . I just need a bifocal post eye surgery for the first time ( Ugh !) . God Bless 🕯

Did you upgrade the lens index on any of yours? It’s recommending that for me but like doubling all of the prices of all of the glasses.
The only thing I added was the anti reflective coating
I know this is an older comment but might help others. If you have a higher RX the site will recommend the higher index lens so your lens won't end up being very thick coke bottles. The higher index lens can be cut thinner for higher Rx's but are more expensive.

People with a heart shape face can get away with anything but perfect round glasses. They don’t work for me but may work for others. The principle here is to get the wide forehead and narrow chin in line so the face appears balanced and proportional.

You’ll take this the wrong way because everyone thinks comments are hateful personal attacks BUT… 20 pairs?! Who needs 20 pairs of glasses? Ever see those glasses donation boxes? Maybe put FIFTEEN pairs in on of those and be happy with FIVE pairs.
And I am guilty of this as well. We all have too much crap when we should be helping our fellow man. (Or woman. Or unicorn. Or whatever you reading this identify as today. I can’t keep up with all the nonsense.) That’s all I am saying. 20 pairs is ridiculous when there are people in this world who can’t get ONE pair.
Again I need to do better with this in my own life! So take it as a reminder or a time to reflect. We all need to do better.
