    Ojai 1985 - Question #1 from Question and Answer Meeting #2
    'What is the difference between shyness and fear?'
    This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
    The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
    We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
    Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

    Before his lectures, I was like this man who was searching for an object which he has in his hand. Now, I realize that life is sacred, that the thing I was looking for is not beyond life but that thing is life itself. Sorry for my bad english.

    A great research and observation has gone into his talks. No wonder he is considered the greatest philosophers the world has ever produced.
    Even today after so many years of his passing away and great intellectualism stepping in, nobody is able to study the mind like he does. Simply superb 👌🏻👌🏻

      JJ pl don't just put anything without first yourself interrogation. There is nothing as living dying each moment. Jk never meant it. A true realised person is aware that there is nothing if which there is a death and so living. Pl don't copy paste unless you have put yourself in deep awareness practically. One who realiazes this is free. Each moment you are just there. Infact that moment which you say in time-space context is false. So in fact there is no death no living. You are always boundless complete pure choiceless awareness. Request Sir to be watchful before putting comments. Thanks.

    I cannot help having shivers. This idea of time is so deep in the society and us. It is still easy for me to get distracted because I think I don’t suffer enough to want to be free truly. So there is that guilt. And there is definitely conflict between what I should be vs what I am. Is it possible to live without fear? Is it possible to always be in the moment without constantly conceptualizing?

    Mmmm... As I hear him for the first time, it appeared like he meandered a lot. The question was on the difference between fear and shyness, of which he apparently talked earlier. He replaced the word shyness with timidity, apparently correcting the word in line with what he had talked of earlier. He subsequently suggested timidity is a branch of fear. In the rest of the answer he seeks to dwell on fear. Then he shifted to talking about a mirror and relationship. Probably he referred to ideas he talked about in that earlier talk. To provide for the clearer understanding of new followers of the videos, it may help if there is some annotation providing this context. I felt without a context clarifying annotation or a sequence/order to watch/listen to these videos, it can be difficult to grasp these ideas quickly for new fans. I am trying to fill the gap with my understanding. Correct me if I am wrong. He seemed to use the opportunity to talk about the utility of these feelings. I felt both my fear and shyness help me to understand my self and thus they act as mirrors. Hence I think he is suggesting fear, including timidity, helps us to see our inner selves as we see ourselves in a mirror.

    I feel like his drifting so far away from the question. Krishnamurti is always interesting to listen to but still i would love him to stay focused on the question.

    • @manishasingification

      He drifts to the very fundamental of the questions rather than choosing the immediate easy response of directly answering the questions in their literal sense.

      In the question are more things involved, then it looks to you he is drifting away from the question but this is not the case.

    Some concepts such as the "relationship-mirror" example, I believe need more explanation and are rather obscure since a relationship might have more than one dimensions.

    • @ciskaschenk
      @ciskaschenk ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all about how you look at it, and yourself. See things for what they are without the "self".

    • @Wouterferdinand
      @Wouterferdinand ปีที่แล้ว

      Relationship mirroring is more of seeing the self itself, through other people things come up, you feel various things which are part of this self. So by being in relationship or in interaction/ contact you are able to notice your own self.

    Relationship is the psychological mirror.
    What's the meaning?

    • @Wouterferdinand
      @Wouterferdinand ปีที่แล้ว

      It means that our inner self, product by living this life, is in essence the self of the world. Meaning the relationships or even interaction and simply being in contact with other people, they will show more or less of every side of this self, thus mirroring it to you when you become aware of this, that which is being mirrored is actually also you (this self), but inside another person.
