Steering wheel was off and shifted to the right. Took it to the dealership and got it aligned. Now its centered and the car drives badass.
My 18 rear sub frame doesn’t drop nearly enough to get the old one out. Had to remove the rear sway bar and loosen the rear bolts plus completely remove one other arm off the frame just to get it done. Might want to mention using thread locker on those caliper bolts too.
Idk what happened but at 3:51 when I tried to hammer them out they wouldn’t even move or budge I tried lifting the whole thing with a jack to take pressure off and nothing worked even wd40
I have a performance pack the rear shocks are different i couldn’t get the stock bumpstoks off but they are bigger then the ones that came with the kit so i am going to leave it ... and thanks for not updating the video and letting people know you installed the front bump stocks wrong i already installed them the wrong way now i have to un do it
Does anyone here have creaking and popping noise from front suspension? I torque everything but the popping noise over small bumps or at low speed is very frustrating.
@Hilbert Hoppyclaps I got new set from Eibach as warranty but they had same issue too. All I do is cranking up the music. A lot of friends switched to Steeda brand instead.
@Hilbert Hoppyclaps also makes noise over bumps. On highspeed your suspension travels less therefore you cant hear it and in low speed on bumpy road you will hear it more
Thanks Bill! I am doing this on a jack and jack stands. I will be supporting the IRS with a jack to lower it? I don't really know where to jack up on the IRS? It wasn't really explained in the video? Any tips?
Hey Bill, I just went through the information they provide (which is extremely limited) from inside the box. Do you know where I can find the torque specs for the nuts that actually need to be torqued back to spec?
Hi Bill, I just has these installed by a shop on my 2016 mustang v6 yesterday. After installation and when driving home I can hear the clanking coming from the rear, and maybe some in the front too on the passenger side. At first I thought it was just my stock springs that I put in my trunk making the sound. But when I got home and emptied the trunk, theres still the clanking sound when going on small bumps. What do you think the problem would be? I called the shop who installed my springs and I was told to come back tomorrow and they will check the problem..
I installed these same springs on my 15' GT and for some reason the right side sits 1/4" higher than the other side. The springs are correctly seated and installed. The only odd thing I noticed was the sub frame on the right side when tightening had a lot more resistance vs the drivers side. Is there something that I could have done wrong?
I just installed these springs on my 16 mustang GT base model and after installing it there was a noise coming down from below and it makes the cabin noise really loud. Whenever I drive on the freeway and hit those little bumps it goes away for a sec and then when driving straight again it goes back. I checked the clearance of my tires and they were not rubbing at all. Are those noises normal when you install these to our mustang?
NO they should not make any noise. I would go back and make sure the strut nuts are tight along with the sway bar end links, they are the most common causes of noises post install.
Could you use the stock bump stops on these springs? Well, really is there a difference between the stock bumpstops and the eibach ones? I don't particularly have the eibach bump stops at this moment.
Hey bill I can't get the lower bolt off the front strut strut. I got one off. The other just won't get loose. Used an enormous breaker bar and it won't budge.
how long would it take to install on a 2015 mustang v6. shops are telling me 7 hrs. that's crazy. I never heard that...is it cause its a new mustang? help please!
i dont have my car yet but i already bought the springs and im intrested in those wheels aswel but they look like a tide fit dont u have any problem that the tire hit the boddy when driving
instead of lowering the subframe could you not disconnect the sway bar and lower control arm bolt at the outer end and drop the control arm to get the spring out?
bill I am having a difficult time hammering the two bolts after removing the rotar any advice this isn't as easy as your video completely stuck please respond ASAP need this done by tomorrow?????
Hi Bill, do you need adjustable control arms with these springs or can you adjust the camber on the mustang without them? How about the shocks, do they have enough travel left or are they bottoming? Are these working with the Ford Perfomance Street Handling Pack shocks? A lot of questions :)
I got 20 in. Wheels with 295/35/20 on the rear and 245/40/20 on the front. I could be mixing up the 35 and 40 series part. My point is, I'm afraid I won't have enough room to lower my car this much? Can anyone respond to this with reassurance it'll work or insight if you've already done something similar? Thanks!
hey Bill, mine didn't come with the black padding that these on the video have. they also didn't come with the bump stop or the new dust boot. can I still install them with out these or should I wait.
I just did this instal on my 15 gt pp and the stock bump stop wouldn't come off because the top of the shock where you unscrew that nut has a lip making it impossible to get the bump stop off. Is it ok to leave the stock bump stop on?
luis Velazquez no problems yet. From reading online people were saying the only thing that could potentially go wrong is that you can bottom out on the bumpstop. Which idk how that's possible but even if it is I'd rather bottom out on that bump stop then the end of the strut. Drive about 500 miles and haven't had anything like that or anything else happen.
Hi Bill, Got my springs and looking to do the install over winter. You say we need to use a drill bit to open up the rear bump stop a bit more so it fits. What size of drill bit did you use? I dont want to use something too small or too big and then ruin the bump stop.
I just installed theses springs over the weekend But my passenger rear knocks a little bit Is that normal ? Or ? Idk what it issue could be I took everything off and reinstall and yeah same issue
do the instructions include what you should torque the bolts and nuts too? it would be nice if you could casually throw those numbers in there during your install vids :) just a thought
The video is good until I realized you guys didn’t tighten the strut mount top nut twice, you were supposed to tighten after you release the springs. I did the same as in this video and now I have a noise coming from there and when I try to tighten the top nut it just spins. I guess I’ll have to take everything out again.
Hey Bill I have a 14 Gt and I'm running 305-35-20 in the back with a 50mm offset and have a slight bit of poke from the outside of the fender (maybe 5mm) I want to run a drop and was wondering if I run the BMR springs from CJ Pony with the 1.5 inch drop will I be in any danger of rubbing or wrinkling the fender?
+HeadbangersCommunity Guessing you mean the diameter of the rear one is too small? I had a similar issue on a different car and used a silicone lubricant and force to get it on.
+Bill Tumas it was impossible to get it on, so the mechanic ended up using a hot metal rod to stretch it the same diameter like the stock one, then it slid on very easily, is that good or bad?
+Bill Tumas it was impossible to get it on, we tried everything. Eventually the installer used a hot metal rod to expand the diameter just the same as the stock bump stop. After that it slid very easily. Is that good or bad?
+HeadbangersCommunity As long as its on the shaft of the shock it will be fine. Might have just been a bad mold, mine was a battle for sure. Seems to be only the performance pack cars.
hi bill, do you recommend these springs with the NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial - 315/35-20 ? are they going to fit ? or do you recommend the pro kit ? what do think the highest tier size i can go with these ? thanks .. Ali !
Considering buying these springs.... How bad was the alignment out when you had it on the alignment machine?? figured lowering the subframe might cause some issues for re-aligning.
What performance struts do you guys recommend ? I just recently bought a 18 GT performance pack and want to put sportline eibachs and wanted to know if i need to upgrade the struts as well?
Watching this video reminded me of how tedious it is to remove/replace the rear springs on the Mustang. Do you have an exact drop rate? That looks like a pretty substantial decrease in ride height.
hey man..great vids.. I just bought a 2015 S550 5.0 manual. it's a used base model with about 3k miles, came with Roush axle back and Roush cold air.. I need this car to handle like a track car. but I don't want to spend 6-7k$. I'm leaning sportline for the dual spring rates. but I need this car to sit flat to get the grip on the corners. I want to run at least sticky 305-315.. what do I need to accomplish this? also my bro is talking shit with his 2015 z28.. I need to keep up with his fancy ass..do I go sportlines and camber plates and bushings? I need grip, tightness, low body roll and low center of gravity, and most importantly not to jack up my drivetrain..I'm lost here. I need some advice from a pro..can you help? do you need a car to demo for this purpose? I got you. Will pay what u need, live in southern Ohio.
The Eibach sportlines with the sway bar kit will give you what you are looking for on a budget. Depending on wheel fitment a 305 will work but anything larger will require increased camber in the rear.
Bill Tumas will the sportline springs require any other modifications to keep the tires sitting flat on the ground(even tire wear)??.. Ive heard of issues with too much negative camber in the front's (maybe rear). also if I'm putting 305s what offset, rim width, and tire height do I need in 19" rims to tuck under wheelwell and still be flush?? . what's the advantage of going staggered vs a square setup?? will thinner front tires still grip on curves?? I've heard the front wheels needs -5mm offset compared to rear to sit fully square.. is this true?? thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
Creaking with a stiffer suspension is usually normal, but if this is your only mod i would pin point where the noise is coming from (Left front or rear right). Check to make sure the springs are seated correctly in the boot, and make sure everything is tight and torqued down to spec (hand tight doesnt cut it). Hope this helps. If you need more help, email me at kbainss550@gmail.com
@Bill Tumas I've got the performance pack and wanted to know if there's a differnce in terms of ride height and more importantly performance? I've plans to run the same wheel/tire dims different wheel. Suggestions are welcome concerning max offsets and tire dims. I want the bestvof both worlds. I imagine 20's with a 35 series tires will help but the width/footprint is what concerns me.
+darkstarVIII I am not 100% sure what you are asking but the Eibach will look and perform better than stock PP springs. 20x10 in wheels at all 4 corners with 275 35s fit well or staggered 9s and 10s with 275s and 295s
+Bill Tumas bill appreciate all your videos.!🙌 you mind telling me the drop on that..and would I be able to go 20x10 all the way around? also would I have to go 35 in front and 30 in back with staggered? please help!😂

i had to guy buy a 4lb sledge and it worked like a charm

It was a mistake on my part, flat side up is the correct way.
Is it critical? I installed as per video

Is it not dangerous to pull out the rear spring without compressing it? I'm confused why he didn't compress it.
When you lower the subframe the spring decompresses and pretty much falls out.
So i put the bump stop in the way you showed do i need to take it all back apart?

I've heard the front wheels needs -5mm offset compared to rear to sit fully square.. is this true?? thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
when you said two fronts those are actually the rears the skinny ones go on the back, its weird
Are those 18 or 19's??
20x10 all around
Bill Tumas have you tried 20x10.5 or 11s at all?
Orlando Darder We have installed 20x10.5s with 305s on this car and it was very tight but still cleared.
Nice! Appreciate the fast feed back. Any sound clips of the borla ATAK for the ecoboost coming soon?

Great video I love these DIY vid there awesome
So much easier to do with last gens solid rear axle,
Yea, but the IRS handles so much better
Anyone else gets some creaking from the springs when going over speed bumps and driveways ?
Creaking with a stiffer suspension is usually normal, but if this is your only mod i would pin point where the noise is coming from (Left front or rear right). Check to make sure the springs are seated correctly in the boot, and make sure everything is tight and torqued down to spec (hand tight doesnt cut it). Hope this helps. If you need more help, email me at kbainss550@gmail.com
Did you ever fixed the creaking noise?
Me !
my rear passenger side !
How much drop?
1.5 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the rear.
Looks nice!
2-3 hours???? A shop told me it would take them all day 3 hours for the fronts and 4 hours for the rear
ben I would suggest finding a better shop, even dealers around here quote 4 hours for the entire job. It’s a 2 hour job if you have done it before.
I love the orange Mustang! Sexy!
... its red...
+Bill Tumas I have conv. v6
