my issue for it, it doesn't look like a game at all its just interactive movie, game looks boring its just you going to this point and this point just press and interact with buttons, its like point and click game, but far slower and a lot more boring, who cares about graphics if game play is almost none existent

About Six hours Into my first play through and I am blown away. The choices. Relationships. Cinematics. It all blends in so wonderfully. While i am away at work, the choices I've made are constantly in my thoughts. It's one hell of a game. Highly recommended this one.

I love quantic dream since Fahrenheit or indigo prophecy so im hopefully they will rise to the occasion as David cage geta alot of slack in this industry. I wasnt a fan of beyond two souls as much but indigo was his beat work to me with heavy rain being 2nd. Omikron i havent tried yet but seen bits of it . anyway thank for this and enjoy your week man

Yeah i love the guy, because he doesn't give the games a stupid rating of 1-10, just if you should buy it, rent it, go on sale, or never touch. I loved the game Jurrassic Park Operation Genesis back on PS2, but it got terrible reviews.

Why pause VLC should be set to always on top so you can watch porn while a) computer is on and b) you're alive.. Just turn down the volume so you can hear the other video. When I do dungeons in wow I just resize the porn window over the mini map. 2017 and 2018 have been outstanding with 4k and 60 fps pork.

As a person who lives in detroit, I admire how accurate the buildings and landmarks are. They even show the Gordy Howe bridge when its finished. They even show how cork town still needs to be developed. I cant wait to get this game

Played it as soon as it downloaded and I've finished my first playthrough. The game is spectacular and am really curious to go back and see what other choices I could make. Also, the scene where one of the characters can paint and play the piano is one of the most heart warming scenes in the game and fabulously done.

You’re always impartial *and* thorough, that’s why I check your reviews first. Your review format is also excellent, proving you don’t need a 30-45 minute mess of a video going through every nook and cranny to tell the potential buyer everything they need to know. I’ve been subscribed to you for a couple years now I think, but I wanted to say you’re still doing a great job and providing a great service for those who can’t buy every game that comes out.
For David Cage games, I'd rank it with the following; 1) Detroit Become Human
2) Farenheit: Indigo Prophecy
3) Beyond: Two Souls
4) Heavy Rain
DBH is easily his best game. I don't understand the hate David Cage gets. His games aren't perfect, and that's okay. Always a unique experience.
i cannot wait to play Kara in this game. I have been waiting ever since "Kara" the tech demo was made. It looked so good, and I was hoping they would turn it into a game... and they did!

I love the way they've designed the characters so that they look like people a lot of players have seen in movies - Lance Henriksen and Clancy Brown being the two I noticed here...
- Which makes me wonder: Clancy Brown actually sounds like Clancy Brown in the clip you show us, I wonder if he actually voiced the character? I hope he did; you mentioned Highlander; that was the first time I saw Clancy Brown act and I've been a fan ever since. - Lance Henriksen, a real fine actor as well. I saw him the first time in Near Dark by Catheryn Bigelow.
But... * sigh * ... Yet another awesome and _very_ interesting looking game that's only available on PS4 (Sony Entertainment insists on only serve customers who can afford to buy not only their games but also their console). - I hope they realize down the road that you can't force people to buy PS4. Either they can afford to buy PS4 and are willing to do so, or they can't afford or aren't willing to buy PS4. Making their games available for all platforms is the most profitable way to go about it and it benefits all parties involved, it's a win/win approach.
- Still, they have to test our wills and wallets before they understand that economy is changing on every level, I guess that's just the way doing business functions while moving towards 2020.
Unpopular opinion but I love DBH more than Heavy Rain.

kyotheman69 oh man I loved heavy Rain and with the exclusive version of DBH they also give you heavy rain. Just played through heavy rain again after DBH and it kind of makes heavy rain look, feel, sound, and play like shit. Which is saddening because I loved heavy rain when it first released.
I guess if I was going to make a movie into a game that's more like a movie, I'd probably make Blade Runner too.

Great in depth review as always. Heavy Rain got me into these types of games and I enjoyed it quite a bit, it was one of those rare instances now where friends would come over to watch me play it and see what happens. Look forward to playing this and glad to hear it isn't a mess like Beyond: Two Souls was, which I still enjoyed aspects of.

As usual a great, fair and balanced review. I was skeptical because Beyond Two Souls wasn't very good and I was glad it was free on PS Plus rather than me paying for it. I finished it but don't really want to go back and play it. Heavy Rain was the opposite for me, I actually got the platinum because I wanted to see and do everything it had to offer. Seems like there's a reason to play it again after your first time through which I like.

I ask myself, do I buy the disc version or deluxe digital version which comes with heavy rain?
I did this game in one sitting. I was tempted straight after to play again but change my choices to see what happens. To me. This is a master piece of game design. You actually get into the characters. You start to feel like them. Its was mind blowing. Each of the characters have a unique personality and story that brings the world together from different perspectives. The quick time events made me feel really tense. I just had to get it right. At the beginning it does feel quite weak. But after awhile you realise why it has been done that way. I would recommend whole heartily.
There is no way I would play a game in one sitting. Any memory I would have of the game would be gone within days. I usually play them segmented that way I can take my time and enjoy them and have a better memory of them later on.

The only problem I had with it was the camera at times. I'm not sure why the bottom isn't always focused towards the knees instead of the top thigh. Overall though a MUST buy.

Hmmm. A 2018 version of dragon's lair. Anyone remember that from the old arcades? Where you were basically in a digital movie but had to press buttons at verious times to decide where the movie would take you? Every clip I've seen from this 'game' was a cut scene paused so you could press a button to move it to the next frame.
I admire what they're doing here and it's certainly cutting edge (and I may even buy it), but I wouldn't call it a game.
I didn't know that about dragons lair. I only know of that game from stranger things. Good to know!

Is there an uneven distribution of playtime with these characters? I like to play these kind of games with friends, as in we each pick a character and play as them when the game calls for it, but sometimes someone ends up not getting to do as much
depends on how you play for sure
You could die with a character and then you will lose the rest of their story. But if you don't fuck up then they give you about the same amount of scenes between all characters.
Keep in mind at some point in the story the characters might meet.

The game is amazing. I loved Heavy Rain and this is better times 100. You just have to know what you're getting in to. I've seen many reviews that scored this poorly and I feel that those reviews missed the premise of this game (and games like this, which are very few). This is strictly a story based game. I love it but I can see why others wouldn't. Overall, definitely play it at least once if you can.

If it is anything like the demo, I'm 50/50 on this. I wanna play it to have the experience and it could be interesting, but I feel like if you wanna see everything, you'd be playing the same portions of the game over and over and over for each variation and that would drive me insane. It started to when I played the demo :/

I would think so. The demo was pretty f'n sweet.
And games from this genre tend to be fairly straightforward, and don't have much of a learning curve.
the only recommendation: do not replay sections, these games are better when you let the consequences of your choices stay and follow the ripple they cause through the rest of the game.

Oh, the game looks cool too. I actually enjoyed Heavy Rain (almost as much as Indigo Prophecy), so this is right up my alley. I can't get over the character models and how good they look. It makes me wonder why people are clamoring for new hardware already when what we can do with the PS4 is just hitting its stride.
