    The dark night on the Crystal Fields brings out the glowing properties of the crystals;) There are also other daytimes in this vonBiome too, but the night is my personal favorite there because of the light show around you. Crystal Fields was part of the Alien World update of the mod a while ago, covering a little bit somewhat stranger places in the Inner Sphere. After the Space Port City biome and upcoming Tundra, I also plan to make some more outer worlds, based on Kepler exoplanet findings.. but all step by step;)

    35:37 Really trying to figure this part out, when the mech is legged I'm disconnecting the mech skeleton bones at the thighs, but when the mech lands the entire mech mesh is generated as the ragdoll part, so the legs magically appear again. See if I can figure this out one day, I would like for when you leg a mech mid-air, the torso will start flying out of control and ragdoll properly.

    Flushing too much coolant is detrimental as it lowers your heat capacity for the rest of the mission. It should only be used when absolutely necessary.
    Additionally a UAC/5 or a pair of UAC/2's should be good enough to reach out and kill enemies you soften up with missiles.

    Did anyone else notice the random enemy helicopter at around 12:06 downing itself on your missiles aimed at a different mech?

    So I'm moderately certain the reason the missions disappear between when you start travel and arrive is when your travel path takes you too far from the conflict zone, making all the existing missions despawn and generating a new set once you're back in range.

    you probably want an lbx on the 1a5. The lrms melt the armor, and then crit seeking

    So, not sure if you know this, but the way MW5 handles refreshing is every 14 systems you jump, which means when you see contracts dissapear, or hero mechs/weapons dissapear from hubs, that means you hit the 14 space timer

    @Baradul have you tried switching your LRM's to "hot shot" for close in fighting? It arms the warheads in the tubes and thus turns the LRM into a short range shotgun. The down side is that the missiles will also detonate in the tubes if you get a LRM crit to a hotshot loaded launcher.

    Hey Bara, you can check how much damage a specific weapon did by checking the little "awards" below the pilots on the post battle screen. It could help you determine if the weapon is ok or not.

    Hey Bara, now that you have a decent stockpile of mechs, maybe take some weapons from the loot table to be disassembled for parts, those T2s bring a hefty amount. And, could strip those unwanted mechs before selling for more parts.
    The workbench is one of the best thing of this mod

    Throw an AC/10-BF in place of the Gauss. 5 to 8 shot hopper will give you good alpha with the option to slow your fire pace to maintain dpm if you need it, and the weight savings means more lrm ammo!

    to battle heat build up you need more heat sinks. you are generating more heat then you can vent. so drop the weapons for more heat sinks.

    Simple zoom is a nice mod to have for sniping. Zoom up to 8x with it.

    The 4 spare tons from swapping out the ppc's for large lasers could be used to armour up if you use hardened armour, so long as it doesn't take up any slots

    When you switch mech Ai messes up have to give order to follow you if not you could take lots of damage on that mech

    I think flushing your coolant lowers your total heat management. Just so you know.

    That first mission, you had one of your mechs just sit in the first base/objective you destroyed is that a bug?
    Does anyone know if you have to stand still to use the coolant flush?
    Remember those are only AC5's in the Marauder and TTK has been adjusted to take longer, so I think it did okay as long as it's fun to play.

      The mechs standing around is a bug when you quickly switch mechs. Commanding them to follow usually foxes it.

    The modded sound of the LRMs I find rather annoying. They mod makes them sound like somebody has added a bunch of reverb to a gong being hit. It really doesn't sound like a bunch of missiles going off.

    It's really amazing how much more damage the energy weapons do vs any other type of weapon system. I doubt your ability to keep your missiles stocked on that LRM50 build. X pressed.

    Does anyone else have a problem with enemy mechs having no model when on the battlefield? Specifically, the super wasp and the lineman (I've only just started so there may be more). Wondering if I missed something with the mech bundle or something.

    I'd really like to know which damage model you are using. I just started a merctech play-through with the "Extreme Muntions" damage model. It seems fine so far. Just wondering if that's why the ballistics don't feel like they are doing much damage. It would be a shame if it is because you can only change those settings at the start of a run.

      You can change them at any time from the "options" tab. It's on the same menu as looking at the objectives/cantina missions. All the way to the right

    Bara, should you ever come into the posession of some Clan Heavy Machinegun Arrays, put 2 or 3 of those onto a mech with ample ammo and see how ridiculously fast you chew through cockpit armor with them at close range. They also wreck buildings and vehicles like nothing else.

      they have great range for a MG but they are not continuous fire. Hate waiting on them to reload the hopper to use again. Unless there is another version out there I am missing.

    you cannot spam fire auto cannons. their performance drops for each round fired continously

    first off, put hooker on the missile charger, her balistic skill is equal to her missile skill so the missile charger would bennefit best with her on it, as for the marauder, either A: swap the standard AC for another of the clan ultras, or B: swap the ultra for another standard AC and drop the larg lasers for a pare of medium clan ER's as for the energy charger perhaps swapping the L pulse for another ERM clan would be better (would look better at least)

    I cannot imagine punching a raid target when i can just walk into it. I use my locust 1vb as a wrecking ball for raid missions. I never shoot or punch the buildings 😠😁

    Look for medium and heavy rifles, they are nice addition to the game and give players more options.

      With these mods, you can put three medium rifles on the right shoulder of a marauder. It hits like a train. Amazing pin point damage.

    why dont u add more heatsinks to the engine btw? theres +/- at the upper part of the engine, so i assume u can put extras in there

      It's the damage model. "Extreme munitions" makes all weapons viable, even late game.

    thats why u need to make use of chain fire with missles, and add another ton of Deadfire prob also will help lol. unless u give it to AI anyways, then its just fine id guess

    Does this game look like this on console as well? I saw my friend play it and the missiles did not look like these missiles. Is there a graphic improvement when you download both DLC on console?

      This is modded with the merc tech mod. It changes the appearance, sound and stats of weapons as well as introducing more.
      If console supports modding and you have access to merc tech then yes... but vanilla doesn't look or behave like this.

    The crystals are cool but my lance mates ALWAYS seem to get stuck on every crystal so I either have to leave them behind or slow to a crawl or even use my mech to pave a path. Including blowing up the huge crystals. An annoyance which keeps me from taking missions on those maps unless it's too enticing to pass up.

    uac 5 doesn´t do much at 50+ missions only if you have 2 or more high ranking uac/5 maybe upgrade it to uac10 . some heat problems can be solved with upgrading the weapons but the cost can be really crazy

      No, but you do not have to run the commander at all. I run my favorite elite pilot as the commander. It part of the Pilot overhaul mod.

    Hi Baradul, I have been enjoying your content and have been playing mech 5 on pc for about 6 months. Today I found I couldn't play due to a bug that has my mouse engage well to left of where the cursor is. I can play combat no problem but I can't click on negotiating points in the contract screen and I need to click to the right of everything else to get it to register. I have verified files through steam. I have unistalled and reinstalled the game. I have checked the mouse on other games and tried a new mouse. I'm at a loss how to fix this. Do you have any suggestions ? I really enjoy the game and it would be a bummer if I just can't play anymore.

      Have you tried fixing mouse drivers? If this problem persists despite changing mouses or USB sockets, it might be: driver problem, bug in the operating system... or stars forbid, malfunction of the motherboard.

      Mouse works on all my other games and works in the start screen of mech 5. Only goes weird once I get into the home screen. It even works perfectly in combat. I will update the driver as suggested but I'm pretty sure it's a game bug.
