As one of the best, most creative builders in the space engineers community, it's awesome you're sharing your building experience with everyone :)
Nice one Splits, good on you mate! . . .
As the undisputed king of SE tutorials, it's awesome to hear that from you. One can only watch your content for so long without wanting to try it out.
@@BlackArmor718 or learning something even after playing for so many years!
Splitsie, need to make one of those signs with a chair for Capac
Yo whatup splits, I learned everything from u dawg. Thx.
legit laughed about the self cleaning sign flying away. good finale
Imagine that as a base self defense system. Intruders reach a certain point and get propelled out of the base.
I love the suicide sign lol
Yeah. I've never seen anything like that! But it really works.
Ok Black, now you're just flexing your PC specs on us with that Intro XD
Sure am, I waited years to get this thing
For color I create pallete blueprints. It's just 16 square blocks in a line, each painted a different color, representing the spectrum i wanted. So all I need to do is to load in the blueprint, and quickly copy the colors from that pallete onto my in-game colors. This works really well if you create a palette bar for each ship, or faction or theme.
Is there a hot key (vanilla) to copy the colors from a block?
@@clamr7775 yes. Shift + P if i remember correctly
The painting tip, *ITS A BLESSING FROM THE LORD*
Dude, just wanted to say you are great at this game and your builds are always amazing.
Appreciate it man
your voice is very similar to what I thought it sounded like! very impressed
I'm impressed to hear that actually because usually people's voices are nothing like I imagine them
@@BlackArmor718 you sound like I thought and its pleasant.
yeah I agree I'm usually way off too

So often a solution in SE (of which there's always many) are finnickity and involve a few steps but this is a very simple solution. Thanks!
Useful tips. Surprised there hasn’t been more views so far. This will definitely improve my building!
It's still only a few hours old haha, but good good
I always forget that sensor trick using the groups. I could eliminate some timer blocks from my builds.
This is why I re-watch these tutorials/tips videos from time to time, because there's so much that can be done in this game, that even with 2,100 hours in SE, I still consider myself an intermediate builder.
These tips are freaking awesome! I can't believe I've NEVER seen ANYONE else use the projector to simulate clear glass for a cockpit! There SO many things I can think of that this would be good at doing! LOVE the vid, bro! Keep it up.
Glad to hear it! Thanks
If you record your in-game audio and voice over as separate tracks you can fix the audio levels during the editing process so your voice is audible at all times.
I will be more careful about talking while using tools/weapons in the future
@@BlackArmor718 An easy way to achieve this is to record your mic audio with Audacity.
More impressed by the Self destroying sign than the mech, that is an awesome idea
Cleaning the world with explosions, is the best way to do it. Love this idea, too
Lol well can't say I blame you, fun factor always wins this game
That magical, self-disposing sign is the best thing I've ever seen.
I’ve gone out of full screen to like the video 3 times only to realize I’ve already liked it. We should be able to like things more than once, or have a star system.
Thank you!
my god man.... ive got over 2000 hrs in this game over the years... and ur a Genius... some of the little tweaks uve displayed in just this one vid... has me completely blown away... If u dont mind im saving a play list of these How to improve vids so i can refer to them often... serious... ive seen alot over the years from many esteemed gamers ... but what uve shown is that weve all missed alot of this games capability... ur problem solving skills with what u have available is off the charts.
Kevin thanks for the comment! I appreciate the kind words
lol epic sign! Excellent tips for beginners and veterans alike. I always learn at least one thing from your vids that I can apply to my own builds. Looking forward to more!
The self removing sign is amazing 😂
Dude, that sign at the end actually made me freak out, thats such a silly yet beautifully executed concept oh my lord hahaah
The self destructing sign cracked me up. Nice video!
Yeah love that thing, so clean
That was such an amazingly creative intro, dude. First I've seen of you were those starting 10 seconds, and I'm just blown away already. GG.
Glad you enjoyed it

After the welding bomber and the self cleaning display, you've got a new subscriber.
Holy crap....
Thanks!
That sign removal trick is beautiful. Very classy.
This channel is underrated. I love your designs. The "self-cleaning" sign was awesome.
Appreciate the support Mage
Some of these ideas are wonderful! I also started having flashbacks to Space Ghost seeing some of your bird designs! I'd love to see them in flight!
You want to see the ships or space ghost in flight?
Been playing hard since x box beta and have watched countless tutorial videos. I learned quite a few things from this vid and it's much appreciated! Spectator cam w ur engineer in front of a control panel and the door sensor tips are golden
Congrats on the level up today lol
Love the light tip.... i had 100s of lights didnt know i could make them brighter thanks!
A self-destructing sign? That's pretty clever!
Amazing mate, I've been playing for years and you just gave me a bunch of things to try out!
I never thought I'd see a Raynos in SE. Thats amazing.
I've been playing space engineers since before planets were a thing and I knew only a handful of these. Really good video, the "self-cleaning sign" got a good chuckle out of me.
A fellow vet. Planets was my favorite update
Thanks for the tips! The last three I didn't know and were really helpful. I'm looking forward to that projector video!
See ya next video
These are all invaluable tips. Hopefully I can use some on my Deep Penetration Bomber build.
You sir earned my sub with the first tip and the rest did not fail to impress. The demo's are fantastic and those builds...... sick!!! Thanks!
Thanks Ray!
love the bombing ideas especially the continous one with the welders
One thing. If you are ever building a big ship, make sure to make a group for your lights in every room you make. You can just find the lights which aren't already part of a group. If you don't do this it is next to impossible to group them.
Ships and even bases I rely on this heavily. Every room has a 'lights' category, and each light is additionally numbered so that if something goes wrong, I don't have to spend half an hour tracking down where the issue is.
Even a SE veteran can learn a thing or two from this video. I had no idea about the Small Grid Rotor distance setting, I've always set it to zero and not that added 8 in there. Also didn't even think about using the wheel suspension to clean up gaps... Awesome video, it'll be a great detour to send new players to learn a thing or two.
Demize good to hear that, it's always fun to learn a new tip and start applying it
For the stairs, you can use a black corner neon tube. It's much more discrete then the LCD.
That intro was honestly incredible 👌
that piston merging trick was really helpful. was trying to build a moving mining rig based on a design I saw once, and wanted to use two pistons to help with weight and wobble. but it would never work. cant wait to give it another try with this information in mind.
I have alot of hours logged and I've seen some things, but these tips are some of the coolest tricks so far. This vid alone solved a few problems I was facing at this very moment.
Thank you for sharing!
Perfect, that just what I like to hear!
Thanks for all the tips. Especially the grated staircase. Loved it!
You're welcome
Had no clue about the flood fill painting ships that a life saver
nice job on the video! that self destructing sign was so cool😎
Ok ive played SE for years and every tip was a winner, fantastic builds and amazing use of items, loved the moving projectors, and will sure look for your items in the workshop. Excellent video , thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the comment Paul, have fun trying it all out
@@BlackArmor718 Hi, I think I went mad and subscribed to 90% of your stuff , lol.. God knows when I will have time to check them all out but they all look stunning designs.
@@pauldriscoll6319 Very nice! If you run into any issues let me know in the comments so I can see if it needs fixing
video starts as a "meh" and ends with a "HOLY CRAP!!" Nice work.
That bomber, the second one especially, is one of the funniest and amazing designs I've ever seen . . . . . . Imagine being on the ground under that . ." I get where the BOMBS are coming from Sarge but what I don't get is where the BULLETS are coming from" . . . . .
I love that self ejecting display panel . . . ."Doris Throatstabber was found uninjured in her bed, staring at a fridge sized display unit that had mysteriously burst through her roof. In other news, the newly opened Dinosaur Mech museum was a roaring success on its first day . . . ."
This man's creativity and ingenuity hurts my soul
Gracias
of all the videos on space engineers I've watched this is most impressive
Glad to hear it!
Super useful video, thanks for sharing your knowledge
Really enjoyed the vide looking forward to watching the rest!
1500 hours into the game and your piston connection method is so much better than the method I used previously. I fully extended both pistons I want to connect and then used a 3rd piston to push the piston heads just far enough apart to fit a merge block since extended pistons can be flexed a little.
By the way there is also CTRL paint besides Shift paint and Shift+CTRL paint as another brush size.
Yeah man don't work harder than you need to. That's true with the paint I just never bothered using the cntrl key when I could MMB on such a smal area as a 3x3
All great tips! I had no idea a wheel suspension could be used that way. Also the sign launching away was hilarious XD
The uses are so creative! i LOVE the gatling gun vs conveyor solution!
Thanks Viktor
Holy crap, the solution you came up for bombing is inspiring!
Thanks I'm sure it could be improved on as well
You truly are one of the best and most creative space engineers. I remember downloading smallgrid big ships years ago,
that were so detailed and ran complicated scripts. And here you are still in the game. :)
I will probably never utilize these tactics but they are really cool, and you're awesome for sharing them in such an easy and fun way!
I will for sure use that dual-piston trick, thanks!
Thanks for this! Those were some really helpful tips
Randomly ran across your vid being a new SE player... and just wow! Love the info. Didn't know how to do some of these things. You got a new subscriber.
Glad to hear this and glad you found me
The sensor and hinge trick is brilliant (as is everything else) - thanks for sharing
Glad you got something out of it
That’s some beyond amazing builds.
Apologies for the language ahead-! but I just want to share my own experience with this video. :D
When the video *starts* with a giant Mechanical Spider not immediately klanging out, I was like.. "This fuckin' guy.." (in an impressed way..!)
Then the next segment with the double rotor merging, "This fuckin' guy's genius here."
Then I saw the first dragon- "This fuckin' guy! I don't know anyone else who does stuff even close to this level-"
Then the explanation with the gattling+conveyor trick with the two awesome bombers- "this fuckin' guy.... amazing."
The winged mech launch gantry- "Yeah- this fuckin' guy just doesn't stop- I- OHMYGODNOWAY-" *sign flies off like a firework*
*Starts choking on laughter and wakes up half the house doing so* XDD
Thank you for everything in this video, I've nearly 1700 hours in this game, and I'm recently returning after years out. These are some brilliant tricks, and I can definitely see myself using the rotor, piston and hinge merges myself. :D
Thanks for sharing this Chucky, gave me laugh as well!
I came for the Pteras Zoid, stayed for the info. Nice video!
The rocket sign is super cool, I bet you could make warheads with it too…
Oh I'm sure!
Really nice set of tips!
some seriously cool idea's in here mate - love it
Great video keep them coming. Huge help.
Excellent video. I learned a lot! For linking stairs, I started using the Neon Tubes Down block. They are barely noticeable.
That's been suggested a few times as a much better solution than mine and I've included it in the edits, good on ya for thinking of it!
Some nice tips there. I really like your bombing system. It's a really nice way to solve the sub-grid projector issue. I use the small corner fluorescent tubes for the stairs and just paint them black.
That door sensor trick is a new one for me, thanks!
Also, keep doing videos with voice! You have a good voice for stuff like this :)
Haha that's encouraging!
@@BlackArmor718 if you want i can also help you find out if your voice suits singing xD
@@Sawer I have a few things I'm good at but singing is not ever going to be one of them
@@BlackArmor718 what if i autotuned it? xD
naaaaaah
This is what I call "Tips for advanced users." 👍👍👍
Advanced users just know a lot of tips
I use a Neon corner under the stairs. I also shorten the sensor detection behind a door for airlocks. Combine just two of them using this method and you can create an easy two sensor door airlock system.
jesus, that intro was very creative and impressive
Appreciate it!
Awesome tips to questions I had been meaning to ask and to questions I hadn't thought to ask yet.
One of the best space engineer videos out there, really helpful.
Thanks kiren good to hear that
The one with the wheelsuspension and the bombing system was very useful. I was actually looking for a way to make a reloadable small grid torpedo launch bay. Thank you!
Perfect
I just picked up the game and I can see myself saving a ton of time with these tips! Thank you soo much!
Hope you enjoy it! Ask lots of questions
It's nice to hear some tips from you dude. Your builds have been super helpful as the benchmark to aim for in SE. Now we have the new piston head block added into the G menu merging pistons is a bit quicker, I always used to use a 1x1 merge block mod. Before we had the transparent lcds for small grid I used a projector to project a blueprint of an LCD with a stained glass monospace image on it and fitted it to a window arch. It was a pretty cool effect but it didn't survive copy-pasting.
Not sure if you're using a mod but there's no attach piston function in vanilla. Only adding a head. It would be real nice if they added that..
@@BlackArmor718 Must be build vision then, has an attach option for pistons too. It's pretty much a must have in my worlds.
Thank you a ton for the lights tip! 👍
Some ingenious solves here! Learned a lot!
love the self clean sign very smart :)
This is great! I'm learning lots of new stuff from this!
Sweet!
Super super useful even from the beginning! Thank you 😁
Really good video, nice tips! Sick creature builds :D
Thanks Niklas
That Sentinel build is terrifying and really well done
Appreciate it
Another great video, you did a nice job with the narration!
This reminds me, if I remember correctly I believe some point shortly after the introduction of planets they hard-coded in a limit to how many lights the game will render, last time I checked it's somewhere around 250. It sounds like a lot, but when every active thruster counts as a light source it can add up really quickly, resulting in some very glitchy illumination as the engine isn't optimized terribly well when it comes to deciding which light sources it wants to render. The methods you showed here are very handy for getting the most bang for your buck from regular lighting, although another neat trick I've found lighting large interiors is that long lines of neon tubes can noticeably brighten the ambient lighting in a room without taking up any of that limit. I've also heard of some folks using blank LCD panels with the background color set to white for lighting, although I haven't tried it yet myself to see how useful it actually is.
Thanks Lanthire, I haven't tried the neon as a straight light source, but the white LCD panels work really nice even if only for detail.
Wow, great tips, and those mechs look amazing.
Thanks dude
These are all great tips, but I would also like to share one related to the stair connection. You can use a neon light corner to connect stairs. Its nearly invisible, especially if its grinded. The only negative is that you need dlc to do this.
Rotflmao! That "Self-Cleaning" sign at the end.....just....wow! That was awesome and funny as hell. Great job!
Thanks man glad you liked it
Great video. Some good tips. Happy to see another fellow engineer taking it to the limit. :)
Great stuff. I've been playing for a little over a year, and I didn't know half of these! Also, your intro is awesome.
Congrats! You just leveled up lol
Insanely good knowledge, ty for putting this together.
You're welcome
Wow. These are really helpful tips.
Been playing since Beta and I've learned a few things. Thanks. You get my sub, sir.
I'm very happy to hear that!
you are a brilliant builder man, those are some very good tips thank you
Thank you
Amazing and usefull video, thanks for sharing.
Ur a genius. Just starting space engineers on console, as it just released on ps5 and this was super helpful thank you.
