I have tried tmobiles home internet an first couple weeks were good then went down hill. Then w nt back to T-Mobile replaced the router still had same issue.
Reason your cell phone had better internet service is QCI level for cell are higher then home internet these type of level will determine priority level
I never said my mother didn’t need internet connection. I was explaining how this T-Mobile service could possibly work for someone who isn’t a heavy internet user
I have ad T-Mobile for 3 months and when I first used it my download speed was 297 - 230 and my upload speed was 56 Mbps. Now my download speed is around 56 Mbps and my Upload speed is 46 Mbps. Same problems as your experience with Alexa I have and web pages take forever to fully load the content of the page. Time to box it up and send this back to T-Mobile. Comcast Internet is 30$ more but I don't have the problems I have with T-Mobile.
Started using Gateway last February. Started good but last a month and a half, getting issues and getting worse seems to be almost every day now. It's not funny and getting a little bit frustrated due to the frequency of downtime.
There are Service Areas with the T-Mobile internet, Based on Zipcode was the sales pitch i got. 14-Day like it or return is a solid deal, and i’m just hooking up but it reads poor connection with only 1 device… So first impression not Good… Looks like i’m going to return it🤷🏽♂️
What's going on, I've had it for about 5 months and this is my current speeds Download is 318mbps and upload is 53mbps as of today 2/4/2023. I have 17 devices connected to it.
Same issues. Shipped me new smaller unit. No issues. $25/month $100 card. Preety good deal. No more resetting or on off with new unit. No Dropped connection yet. Speed seems acceptable for $25.
T-mobile doesn’t have stable connection. I had about 400 to 600 downloads but sometimes it changes but I use to the Att Air internet but I have better speeds with AT&T then T-mobile. T-mobile share the same tower in my area when people are online.
I guess it's not for everyone. I've had mine for three days, it's amazing. Your location in relation to the tower makes a huge difference in your experience.
Please please I want to love this as I got this a week ago. Why am I not able to play call of duty. It's giving me an issue and I am trying to figure this out. This thing is going back if I can't stream a few games.
@@pinballrick6031 thank you I actually got it working lol I havent touched my PS4 in months so I didn't know about the new warzone. I will though try to this to see if I better speeds. I cancelled my comcast a few weeks ago.
Been tyining it for a week now; terrible , keeps dropping the signal everyday, very unreliable, don’t want it even if it was free service, no thank you, very frustrating. Returning their tower soon.
I've had it for a week now and I'm about to give up too. I have 3 to 4 bars on the Gateway device but TH-cam videos buffer constantly, usually when ads are trying to load, and streaming on my TV is nearly impossible. I never have more than 3 devices hooked up at once so I don't think I'm overloading the bandwidth.
The TMobile 5G Home internet and experience depend on the geo-location or market. I have used it as a fail-over connection to back up my Fiber to support my cams, alarm and role as a managed service provider. During my test period, I did receive good upload and download speeds and an ok latency. 200/20 on average. Most folks are pushing a little data up, nothing more than page requests. With the connection, I've managed to maintain VPN, Remote Desktop connections. I think for 25-30$, most people with average internet needs will like the service. Brandon, thank you for sharing your experience.
I'm about to try T-Mobile internet on the 15 day trial. I'm hoping I don't have any of these issues. I'm currently with Xfinity 1gb download/250 upload. I have the 185+ TV with no boxes, just using the Xfinity stream app on my tv's. I'm currently paying $203 w/ Tax. If I cancel tv, my internet will be $120. I'm considering youtube TV, but I'm just leary of stability and licensing of being able to watch live sports. I guess I'm kinda stuck with Xfinity from what it sounds like.😪
I have Xfinity for internet only. I have apps for tv including TH-cam tv. I have all the sports and nothing lags or anything. I think it’s time for you to ditch cable. There’s savings on the table for you.
@TheBrandonBrews But if you do the math, TH-cam is $65, $85 if you want 4k which is what I want, then I have HBO, Showtime, Starz, all those cost about $15 individually which is about $45. So now I'm in $130 plus $120 for internet, now I'm paying $50 more than what I'm at now.🤷♂️
@@nfin8rider347 TH-cam tv has a bundle for HBO/HBO max, starz and Showtime for 29.99. That’s what I have and also have T-Mobile home internet. Usually get between 200 Mbps down up to 539 Mbps down. depending on what room I’m in. and usually around 46 Mbps upload. Live in house surrounded by tall trees on all four sides. Chesterfield Virginia area.
Pastor Neville got the service for the church and home, and so far we have been pleased. It has more than met the need and the speed is good. I don't know if location has anything to do with it, but that's been our experience.
That's good news to hear. I believe there is a tower behind the Speedway Gas station on 61st ave. If it is utilized my T-Mobile, you guys are super close to it. Thank you for watching!
I just moved into another apartment today. My new location is a prime location boasting a full 5 bars with speeds going up to 250mbps but on average of 175. Mybold apartment, I was getting on average of 25mbps on 3 bars. I did experience some of your issues with streaming TH-camTV and going online. It was annoying, but I was still happy. It didn't do it all the time. I suspect that it is the area, especially if there is alot of congestion. I've had this for 9 months now and as far as what I have been dealing with, this internet is not for work. It can be, but it is mainly for computers, tablets and streaming.
For 20-24 years Cox, then Spectrum, refused to provide me with service. It was about 1000 ft away. After 25 years, I got Starlink after a 16-month wait. Then, Verizon 5G Home Internet became available, and I got it too. About this time, Spectrum sees the writing on the wall and is then willing to run cable to my house for "only $5,000", down from the usual $23,000. Too late Spectrum - forever. So, I hear you.
@@TheBrandonBrews Happy with it. More reliable, stable connection than Starlink, overall. Starlink more portable and works where cellular does not, so I've kept it.
I say try it, if you get the free 14 day trial and then you don’t really have anything to lose. It really depends on how close you are from the tower and also if the tower is updated. Thanks for watching
I just started using this a couple days ago. One thing I've realized about it, it is not VPN friendly. I am unable to use a VPN if connected directly to the Tmobile router. But I also have a Google Nest mesh router connected to my Tmobile router and if I connect to the Google router I am able to use a VPN.
Great video!!! I haven’t had any issues with it yet. I’ve only had it few days so I’m still testing it out. But then again I don’t work from home anymore so I don’t really have any uploads to do (work related). But my downloads works great. And I get 4 bars (very good) connection service
Hello! I just got it two days ago! It's running well for me! 550 to 640 mbps. (In a country where they don't haven't released it yet.) Got the latest model. I saw that with the previous models, you could get the Data Stats (Usage) through the gateway IP. However, there is no such option on the new panel/menu. Have you read whether or not it's possible to see those numbers with the new gateway model? Thanks!
It depends on where you live and if you get a good enough Signal with T-Mobile or not but I do agree the Customer Service is terrible they really don't know what they are doing and they need to allow you to Chat with them through the App I'd rather do that then call them. Other than that it's been great for us here in New Jersey we don't have any drop outs or loss of Service and we're going on two Months.
@@dayne62 I live in Pedricktown NJ it's mostly farms and fields but I do have a Tower right down the Road from me so that's probably why we get such great Signal in our House and around our House but I also get great Signal at my Job too and whenever I'm out other places I never have problems with Signal.
Thank you for all the info, it helped me make up my mind. I'm a casual user, but the annoyance of losing connection even for me is frustrating. BTW how often do you take a beating with the name Brandon? Great video though.
Agree Tmoblie can have tower maintenance that goes for days. I use my cellphone Hotspot as backup for working from home. I've had it for 18 months while working from home. And I'm keeping it.
I put it in attic, signal is 4(good), so far so good, used deco mesh to extend wifi, all smart devices connected and worked well. Got some moneyback through promotion and amex offers. Speed is okay so far
Yo man, I dig the video. My family has one fire stick , one tablet and two cell phones and by the window. hooked up to the tower It's been disconnecting here and there . After watching the first and this one....this TMobile tower is wack. Yeah movies are cool to watch but the connection drops. So move it again... let's see what happens next. Have a good one playboy. 🍻
Your VPN OBVIOUSLY is what slowed down the system as well as all the wi- fi devices in your home. I use Boat loads of data and except for the slower ping speed my system, set up properly works 💪 like the best.
@@TheBrandonBrews it was not a good fit for me, the speeds on it were super slow and this review really helped me decide not to continue with T-Mobile home internet.
Honestly doesnt seem like a service issue. It seems like the router could not handle the amount of network traffic and devices. My suggestion is to put the tmobile router in bridge mode and connect a business router or gaming router to be able to support the load.
Understood. I wish T-Mobile would specify this in their marketing because it can be misleading. If they point out these types of things then they could possibly have more people switch over. When calling tech support they lack knowledge of the info you have given. Thanks for watching
@TheBrandonBrews great review btw. I used to work setting up business networks. 95% of the networks going down once a month are due to router issues. The all in one router/modems that are provided by broadband providers are usually not great. They are designed for a 5 device household. Even with xfinity I would suggest using only their modem and a gaming router(like asus rt86u) or an entry level business router (like the unify dream router). It will substantially improve your network connection and reliability.
@@henryvidals8552 thanks for this. I think I will do this to my xfinity router. I don’t usually problems with it but I’m eager to find out if it’s capable to do more. Thank you for this
Great video. I have had mine for about 4 months and it is going down hill. Will be taking it back before next bill. I can only use it after 10 pm and never on weekends smh. I get as low as 1 mega bit so no more gaming.Damn going back to Spectrum.
I think it might be getting too hot the 5G modem itself I some TH-camrs that tried it and it's better also don't go the bars go by the signal strength which is RSRP typically it -80 to -105 is alright and the quality RSRQ should be around -8 to -11 for each band you connect to unlikely they are working every day on the tower but if you need consistent speed I'd recommend stay with your current internet provider
I would have to look thru some screen shots. Speed was decent for a week and then it got slow the following week. I’m noticing it really depends if you are by a tower
Were you using a router/switch in your home, or were you connecting everything wirelessly to the T-Mobile gateway? I'm experiencing some of the same things you are, but I just realized today that maybe my router/switch is what is not compatible after speaking with T-Mobile. But you are right, they are not transparent about the product. I might be eating the crow and going back to Comcast as well.
I connected all my devices wirelessly to the T-Mobile router. You’re correct. They didn’t specify any other work around a. I hope it works out for you. Thanks for watching
@@TheBrandonBrews I have this at my shop, so I've been testing for about 2 months. My Comcast was $175 and shot up to $250. Business account just costs more. I finally turned in my Comcast equipment last week and then started having issues...LOL... I have the gateway connected to a Linksys router and a T-Mobile Cell Spot amplifier. The Cell Spot is not compatible and was basically fighting with the 5G gateway. I discontinued it this morning and had good calls all day. I also connected my personal cell phone wifi direct to the gateway and that also alleviated that problem. So, basically, I think the gateway does not support having a secondary router and I'm going to need to connect just a straight switch and let the T-mobile gateway manage my internet. I'm going to try that this week and see what happens. One thing I noticed today, I started getting a lot of bounce backs on email. If I can't get this all squared away, I will be going back for sure. As you said, I don't need speed - I need consistency. Unfortunately for me, the Comcast service also sucks (goes down every single day). But....I never dropped phone calls.
Thank you so much for recommending this - this is exactly WHAT I am talking about - all money ain't good money (in this case - all savings isn't always worth the savings). You saved me a headache - subscribed!!!
Glad I could help and also thank you for helping me with budgeting. I have been following you maybe 2 years now. I’m on my way to millionaire status and being debt free. Happy New Year & blessings to you! Thank you soooo much for subscribing!
If you have more than 5-6 things connected to the router its basically not going to be good. My true test is if my son can play his ps5 games without any hiccups then it's good. I tested it in my area 7 months ago and had to return it. Now there's been upgrades to two towers in my neighborhood...so I have it coming again and will test it. If it doesn't get at least 150 mbps download then it's simply not going to be feasible for my needs.
Thanks for the review I was considering getting T-Mobile internet service Comcast is outrageous I'm so over it if my children didn't need internet service I wouldn't bother with it
Hmm...my situation is like yours but I am hoping to have a better experience because I want to be MOBILE. Only having a fast internet connection at home has me staying at home way too much. I am hoping to get out and do some camping and just get outside and work instead of being stuck in my apt all the time. I hear that as long as you stay within the geo area that you addressed it to then you can be mobile. Now, in terms of work apps, what apps are you using. I will be using Google and Microsoft online apps.docs, slides, spreadsheets and email. I also need to download a lot of multimedia files in order to create eLearning courses and then upload 500 mb scorm files several times a day. Given what Tmobile charges, I am really hoping that it works..but you got me on high alert to really use it for that 15 day trial period to see whats up. Thanks!
You're right about everything the same thing happened to me the first day I got it everything was running smooth and fast by the 4th day it started running going in circles so I went up to MetroPCS they told me to put it by the I told him I did that I unplugged it plugged it back in the same thing happening so they told me to download the app so I did they troubleshooted it for me same thing this is crazy 🤣🧢
Hi Brandon, I just picked up mine yesterday cause I heard that there was a promotion that was being given at this point. But, I did have a question regarding your connection that was losing signal or slow signal. Was that using the Wifi or were you connected using the ethernet cable connection on the back? I wonder if that can make a difference. Also by any chance did you try to move the unit around the house to see if you got a better signal? Thank you very much for your video.
Hi. I only connected it via Wi-Fi. I also did try moving it in various places in my house but could never get all the bars even after using the app’s suggestion which was my kitchen… still didn’t get a excellent signal. As for the connection dropping, this happened with my work computer. I use a vpn and I don’t think this system likes it so it would drop every 15 mins. Everything else worked but since I work from home I need my laptop on a stable connection at all times. Also thank you for watching!
Hi Brandon, I have one myself I am like your Mom and Dad I have it only for Netflix and utube but it is slow it takes some time to come on, then during the show you'll see the little circles in the middle moving around for a while. I am not quite happy with it either
Thanks luv - glad to see your review - yes I was debating on getting this internet but probably will avoid it as I definitely need it to work properly while working from home. I currently use spectrum they aren't the best but I definitely haven't had an issue with connection 🙃
Thank you bro for your honest review, I’m thinking of switching but , you’re right ! I’m too highly depended on high speed internet, so this will not work for me based on your review.
I've been paying around $155.00 per month with Cox Cable (internet ONLY), so of course, I jumped at getting T-Mobile internet because of the incredible price of $25.00 a month. I've been trying it for a week now, and everything you've said is certainly 100% dead-on! The best signal that I can get are three bars only. I've got over 13 devices set up, and also have a home music studio where I use 1,000 of plugins, and have noticed a definite difference in my speed, and my iPhone, poor thing, basically sits at a dismal one bar only. So, to circumvent that, I bought a 5-port Ethernet switch and connected whatever I could to that, in order to relieve some of the burden on my WiFi signal. And yes, I called customer service (which is poor), and like you, they told me that they are working on the cell towers in my area. I have another week or so in which I can bring it back with no charge, but I'm not going to yet. There are interruptions, needing to reboot occasionally etc, but I don't work at home so that's not an issue. However, I haven't tried uploading a video yet to my TH-cam channel, so I will be trying that tomorrow, and If I can't get my iPhone 14 Pro max connected with at least three bars, that will probably be the "deal-breaker." I'll end up going back to Cox Cable and continue getting "screwed' by them until T-Mobile figures it out. Great video, and it was on point at all times!
My exact experience! I hope it works out but sadly it probably won’t. I think it’s just half baked. What type of music do you create, also thanks for watching!
Update! I’m still using my T-Mobile internet even with the minor flaws and super annoying ‘customer service’. Why? The price!!! At $25.00 a month, I’m saving over $1,500 a year! Yeah, I occasionally have to reboot my router, reinstall some devices and even walk the distance from my studio to the kitchen to talk on my iPhone. But to reiterate, the price is the motivating factor and main reason I’m sticking with it. Plus, Cox Cable is increasing their prices again. WT? Oh, I can never get more than three bars for a signal. Each person have to way the pros and cons to see if T-Mobile is a ‘fit’ for them. Hope this helps your decision making.
@@PepperWilliams_songcovers I’m glad to hear that you chose to stick with it and make it work. I think I would have done the same thing if I didn’t have to rely on it for work.
Tmobile has 2 plans. Unlimited or lite. Unlimited has no data cap. Lite has 100gb to 300gb. After using data cap for lite, u'll get slow to no connection at all. Which plan have u used? Btw am here to learn customer feedbacks :) and your feedback is👌
When I signed up, I wasn’t introduced to multiple plans it was just one. I think during that time they had a promotion for $50 bucks with a 14 day trial. This was at a authorize dealer
I'm curious as to what type of work you do so that I can get an idea as to what your were experiencing with t mobile router. I also work from home but not sure if I will have the same issues as you did...Thanks for the vid...Also, what State and area are you in if you don't mind saying. Rural area, small city, big city. Do tell...
@@TheBrandonBrews they did a Black Friday special for $25, previously it was $50. I think you can still get it. I was using cable 1.5 gigs for $65 a month. I don’t game and rarely stream. I work from home too. It’s definitely a lot slower than cable. But I’m trying to save money on everything, since everything else has been going up in price.
I've been thinking about trying it because it's $50/month and, you guessed it, my cable bill has been rising. I'm somewhere between you and your mother: I don't work from home, and I have only 3 devices connected to the internet (plus a printer that just uses the router). But I have been Zooming hybrid martial arts classes. Your "it might be for ____________" conclusion gives me reason to move forward. Troubleshooting reminded me of this video which includes an important life lesson: th-cam.com/video/kdFOCleUkVE/w-d-xo.html 😀 Seriously, you could be connected to the tower and still have trouble reaching the network. Just saying.
@@TheBrandonBrews Well, I have had my T-Mobile 5g Modem since last Tuesday (March 21, 2023). I promptly did speed tests and it suffered next to my Spectrum cable connection: 60 mbps download on T-Mobile, while Spectrum's was over 200. Don't remember the upload speed. But the ping was much longer on T-Mobile. Some aps take longer starting on my phone with the T-Mobile. However, for "day-to-day" things, like reading e-mail, going to Facebook, and doing Zoom calls, the T-Mobile modem works fine. 60 mbps seems to be more than enough. I've attended Zoom martial arts classes on Tuesday (first night I had it), Wednesday, Thursday, and this morning, and there was no problem. In fact, I had a live TH-cam video playing for the first few minutes of today's Zoom class. The modem was just fine. I'll keep Spectrum as a backup for at least a few months, so I won't see the savings I would see yet. And I'm aware of your videos and others where people say they had a problem later. But at the moment, it looks ok.
Here are 5 things to keep in mind to improve your WiFi signal: Your router might need a reboot, or a frequency channel switched. Your router placement. Is it far away? Is it blocked by thick walls or floors? How many devices are connected to your network at the same time? Your signal might be competing with your neighbors. Your router may be outdated. Even after you’ve tried these tips and your connection is suffering, turn to WiFi booster devices. It’s not uncommon to need to use WiFi boosters on your network. How to Use WiFi Boosters to Stop Buffering WiFi boosters are designed to give you better wireless signal coverage throughout your entire home (inside and outside). When you have a strong signal in the room you are trying to stream video, any instances of buffering should go away. There are different kinds of WiFi boosters. Not all of them are the best solution for everyone. But they each work to extend the WiFi signal coverage in your space. Depending on your situation and home setup, you may use: Wireless repeaters Wireless range extenders Wireless network extenders MoCA adapters Mesh WiFi WiFi boosters are easy to use and install. They help to eliminate weak Internet so video buffering is a thing of the past. Whether your connection is through Ethernet, MoCA, or WiFi, boosters can work for you. Enhance your WiFi connection in every corner of your home with HT-EM4 MoCA adapters available on Amazon. For more information on WiFi boosters, check out our WiFi Boosters Complete Guide to learn all of the basics. Take care and God bless
I've added a port switch and have had better success, but my iPhone signal sucks (ONE BAR ONLY). I've had it for about a week now, so I will continue to try it for a couple more weeks. If things do't get better with my iPhone, I'm going back to those Cox bas*%#$.
Thank you for your thorough review of the T-Mobile 5G Home internet. I was curious about the service, especially since the price point is so attractive. I really enjoyed how you broke down your usage and reliability from the remote worker’s experience. I am fueled with even more information when considering this option. I am also appreciative of your unbiased perspective in saying though it is not right for you, there may be an audience who would greatly benefit from T-Mobile’s existing internet service. Please keep reviewing things, because your reviews are always informative.
It really does all come down to the area. If you are in a rural area or city, by a tower, this works really great. I live close to DC and T-Mobile 5G is superb in this area. I do suggest to anyone not to use the T-Mobile router by itself, it's coverage is not great. I suggest hooking up another router or a mesh system
Maybe yep exactly plus it's says Home internet not business anything overdose not good for anything even with home service providers if not enough need more speed and upgrade for higher speed pay for what you need probably two devices separately one for work and 2nd one for entertainment I guess but thanks for a great review 👍
I started T. Mobile home internet 3 days ago. They are not pushing too hard because they know that they need a sower rollout to expand quality. I hate being a victim of Optimum who has a monopoly locally and just gouged me for an extra $20 a month. I have found that it is affected by high user volume but it works great except for a few Sat AM and Sun PM hi use hours. My only issue so far is that my wireless printers are only capable of working at 2.4Gh. I t worked on Optimum because, while they insisted that they were working at 5g, it was actually 2.4. I'm working on it but I would suffer a lot to have the satisfaction of never giving Optimum another penny
Great video. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. T-Mobile just sent an email notifying me that there service is available in my area. I just ordered it. I'm a single user in my household and I plan on using it mostly for browsing and streaming. According to your video it sounds like this will hopefully work for me. My Optimum service is great but way too expensive.

T-Mobile Home Internet started rolling out as a pilot program early in 2021 and one of my (now former) CNET colleagues, Rick Broida, was one of the first to give it a test run. Hi Brandon, I'm here from your unboxing video and really appreciate your reviews on both of them. I've been living under a cave in my own bubble and now at 35- I am beginning to open up to what is out there. To dive into technology and current services that most people especially in big cities are caught up in. It's something that has been out of my element my whole life. For example, I bought my first tv, a smart TCL Google tv this cyber Monday that just passed. I've never owned my own tv but for this, I did a lot of research before purchasing it and in that process, read that I needed Internet service to use it basically. I guess that's why they call them smart tvs 😅. (We use cable for tv and our phones for the internet and I had an idea that Internet was used by many people nowadays for streaming and downloading on their TV's and things like that..) so that has led me to your reviews 😊 Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for the insightful and informative videos (new subscriber here) and I look forward to seeing more from your channel. 🙂
Hey! Welcome to the world of tech. The tech world is ever growing it’s almost insane to keep up with everything or with the latest. Congrats on your new smart tv. Thank you so much for you’re encouraging message, it really has made my day. Be Blessed!

Hey Brandon, how’s it going? The start of this video had me😂 and also 😢 HOW DID YOU KNOW what they told me to do every time I call T-Mobile? Unplug / plug, they reset the network connection, etc, etc! Thank you for sharing we were in the same boat! I love T-Mobile 5G and it’s just started disconnecting daily. Hoping the new gateway might fix the problem. Your videos are gold!! Keep up the great work!! 🔥🏆
Hey Man! Great video; on both of 'em regarding T-Mobile Home Internet. I also have been working permanently at home for over 10 years now. Also have Xfinity and MANY smart devices, in my home. Multiple Alexa units, Google Home, Apple TVs, FireSticks, cameras, doorbells, thermostats, smart lights, etc, etc. I'm about one week into the 15 day trial. When I set mine up, I only get TWO bars of service, but so far so good on the service. Working from home hasn't been a problem at all... at least not so far. Also, streaming and all my smart home devices are fine. BUT I also do not upload videos like you do. I also put my Google WiFI mesh system and attached it to the T-Mobile Gateway. Didn't even have to change my SSID name or password or anything. So I have two theories here... 1. I think that the T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway just isn't that good managing so many devices on the network. So I turned the WiFi Broadcast off on mine and hooked up my Google WiFi Mesh router system and it's been fine ever since. In fact, my download speeds are BETTER than what I was getting with Xfinity. BUT this brings me to number 2. I also am not doing the heavy duty video uploading that you are. My upload speeds to be honest are about the same I had with Xfinity, or even less. But that's not as much of a concern for me as it is for you. Like I said, I'm only just about 5 days or so into the 15 day trial, so we'll see. Still have my Xfinity service active just in case I need to revert back! Thanks again for such a great video!
@@TheBrandonBrews Yes. I am still using it and cancelled Xfinity yesterday. It works absolutely fine for me; even with only two bars. I highly suggest connecting your own router and only using the T-Mobile gateway as a modem. Works fine for me!
@@BobBridgesbob interesting. thank you for the info. what is the exact model of your router? and how was tmobile reception in your home for their device and your phone(if you use tmobile)? is it still just the 2 bars? last question, do you use tmobile as your phone service also?
@@ikbev Hi. I use the Google Nest Wifi Mesh Router system. The 2nd gen one, not the first gen. As far as the service reception, it is still just the two bars, but I have had absolutely zero problems so far and it's been about a month and a half now. I was using Mint for my cell service, but since installing the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet, I have also switched my cell service over to T-Mobile as well because I'm on the Magenta Max plan and with that, along with the Internet, I get an additional $20 discount on the Internet. So now I'm only paying $30 per month for the 5G Home Internet. So far, everything is working great!
After using MetroPCS since 2017 for my 4 phone lines I made the mistake of trying their Internet Deal. Free month of Internet is a joke. It costs you $55 for a (FREE) month. The sales person told me I would get my (FREE) month on the nest bill. LIE. Then they billed me again in 18 days (NOT IN A MONTH).... and cut my phone service off because of the additional bill which I wasn't expecting for another 12 days.. I was forced to pay again to keep my phone service. The REALITY OF THE INTERNET SPEED TRY 23 MEG on the OKOLA speed test, If your trying to watch a program on tv it will sputter and freeze. You TUBE CUTS OUT . If you have 2 devices they will not work at the same time... If you have 1 it might work. DON"T BELIEVE THE SALES HYPE.... THIS SERVICE IS CRAP / I AM CANCELING AS SOON AS THIS BILLING PERIOD EXPIRES. Then their is the customer service issue.. IF YOU CAN GET PAST THEIR COMPUTERIZED VOICE DEFLECTION SYSTEM. YOU CANNOT TALK TO AN AGENT. Even if you need one, It will just keep cycling you through and asking the same question over and over again.. BEYOND FRUSTRATING... ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE: BE WARNED... However you can go to the store and pay them $5 to help you as your only option. Sorry for the CAPS... Its just how I feel right now. Good Luck
Yeah this was my experience too. This is for maybe someone who doesn’t use internet primarily. But I really think it depends on location. Sorry it didn’t workout for you. Thanks for watching

The thing they don’t tell you is they give cell phone T-Mobile cell phone users priority, and metro users so you are third priority.

That’s awesome. Unfortunately AT&T isn’t available in my area where I live. Thanks for watching.
Our T-Mobile Internet experience had been Superb so far, yes, very good…
Reason your cell phone had better internet service is QCI level for cell are higher then home internet these type of level will determine priority level
That’s exactly what was happening

I never said my mother didn’t need internet connection. I was explaining how this T-Mobile service could possibly work for someone who isn’t a heavy internet user
I have ad T-Mobile for 3 months and when I first used it my download speed was 297 - 230 and my upload speed was 56 Mbps. Now my download speed is around 56 Mbps and my Upload speed is 46 Mbps. Same problems as your experience with Alexa I have and web pages take forever to fully load the content of the page. Time to box it up and send this back to T-Mobile. Verizon’s home internet wasn’t in my area at the time
Started using Gateway last February. Started good but last a month and a half, getting issues and getting worse seems to be almost every day now. It's not funny and getting a little bit frustrated due to the frequency of downtime.
I’m sorry it’s not working. Mines started out good and decent and started to decline. I was able to return it and cancel it during the trial.

I guess it's not for everyone. I've had mine for three days, it's amazing. Your location in relation to the tower makes a huge difference in your experience.
True. It’s probably better in my area now. I think they were still working on towers and the infrastructure too

So sorry to hear it isn’t working. I had the same issues. I could never get all of the bars
Yes it does really depend on location. Thanks for watching!
It would be good to see your speeds. I'm in Los Angeles and in my neighborhood I'm getting 800+ download and 300+upload.
Sorry at the time of the video, I didn’t record my speeds

You can't add 100 devices to this kind of wifi, it's only for a small home with just one computer, phone, TV

Lol
I just moved into another apartment today. My new location is a prime location boasting a full 5 bars with speeds going up to 250mbps but on average of 175. Mybold apartment, I was getting on average of 25mbps on 3 bars. I did experience some of your issues with streaming TH-camTV and going online. It was annoying, but I was still happy. It didn't do it all the time. I suspect that it is the area, especially if there is alot of congestion. I've had this for 9 months now and as far as what I have been dealing with, this internet is not for work. It can be, but it is mainly for computers, tablets and streaming.
I’m glad to hear it’s working out for you, thanks for watching!!!
I wanted to try Verizon but it’s not offered in my area.

I just started using this a couple days ago. One thing I've realized about it, it is not VPN friendly. I am unable to use a VPN if connected directly to the Tmobile router.
Thanks!
How’s it going now, since your comment was a month ago?
It depends on where you live and if you get a good enough Signal with T-Mobile or not but I do agree the Customer Service is terrible they really don't know what they are doing and they need to allow you to Chat with them through the App I'd rather do that then call them. Other than that it's been great for us here in New Jersey we don't have any drop outs or loss of Service and we're going on two Months.
That’s wonderful… I’m glad it has been working out for you. Thanks for watching

Wow that really sucks and especially after 4 months T-Mobile should have had it working solid for you
Did you use their business internet plan or their regular household use connector?
Does that make a difference asking for myself because I was considering getting T-Mobile internet service thanks in advance
I used their Home Internet.
It just failed me today. 😭 i dose not connect to my phone very well. Table is better and samsung tv. I guess i get what i pay for.
Indeed 😞 you really do get what you pay for. Thanks for watching!
That’s exactly what I had to do. I went back to xfinity and haven’t had any issues with my internet. Thanks for watching.
Mine keeps disconnecting randomly
I’m sorry to hear… how many devices do you have connected to it?
Just my work equipment. 2 monitors and a laptop. Phone as well 😕
What speeds were you getting for download and upload during your trial? I live in the sticks (considered rural) and get some great speeds for both.

You might be in luck if they have really updated the towers as they say. Let me know what happens. Thanks for watching!

Thanks!
I use a lot of applications that require vpns. What I’ve gathered, the router doesn’t do well with vpns. If you’re not using any vpns you maybe ok.

Have you tried it yet? Thanks for watching
My coworker says he got 2 boxes paying only 110 compared to what I pay at Xfinity 160😖 so ima try it

I'm curious as to what type of work you do so that I can get an idea as to what your were experiencing with t mobile router. I also work from home but not sure if I will have the same issues as you did...Thanks for the vid...Also, what State and area are you in if you don't mind saying. Rural area, small city, big city. Do tell...
Government. So I use a vpn all the time. I’m in Indiana. 40 mins away from Chicago. Thanks for watching
Thank you for being very thorough, you've helped me make my decision. 😄 It's not for us.
You are so welcome! Glad I could help
It’s not great, but for $25 a month. It does the job.
I was quoted $50 a month
@@TheBrandonBrews they did a Black Friday special for $25, previously it was $50. I think you can still get it. I was using cable 1.5 gigs for $65 a month. I don’t game and rarely stream. I work from home too. It’s definitely a lot slower than cable. But I’m trying to save money on everything, since everything else has been going up in price.
@@malewire1263 that’s an awesome steal
Add a router
@@tyhubb804 thank you for the tip :) love your channel.
It could have been the channel your wifi was on
Possibly
Yeah i totally get it. I would say only give it a try if you are given the trial. I wouldn’t dare sign a contract for it. Thanks for watching!!!
Here are 5 things to keep in mind to improve your WiFi signal:
Your router might need a reboot, or a frequency channel switched.
How to Use WiFi Boosters to Stop Buffering
WiFi boosters are designed to give you better wireless signal coverage throughout your entire home (inside and outside). When you have a strong signal in the room you are trying to stream video, any instances of buffering should go away.
There are different kinds of WiFi boosters. Not all of them are the best solution for everyone. But they each work to extend the WiFi signal coverage in your space. Depending on your situation and home setup, you may use:
Wireless repeaters
Wireless range extenders
Wireless network extenders
MoCA adapters
Mesh WiFi
WiFi boosters are easy to use and install.
Thank you so much for this ☺️
T-Mobile to dome high
Thanks for watching
T mobile is garbage home internet, so slow always
Yeah, that was my experience 😩
It really does all come down to the area. If you are in a rural area or city, by a tower, this works really great. I live close to DC and T-Mobile 5G is superb in this area. I do suggest to anyone not to use the T-Mobile router by itself, it's coverage is not great. I suggest hooking up another router or a mesh system
I thought about this after I cancelled that I should have used a router with it. Thanks for watching
How does it work with the security cameras for you ? Or anyone else have issues
Has anything changed? Thanks for watching
Yup. This might workout for you. Thanks for watching
Yeah, I think that you're a good candidate for this, but for me (read my comment above), it will most likely be returned.
When did T-Mobile start offering home internet?
T-Mobile Home Internet started rolling out as a pilot program early in 2021 and one of my (now former) CNET colleagues, Rick Broida, was one of the first to give it a test run. By April 2021, T-Mobile announced it had launched its home broadband service nationwide
When did Tmobile home Internet launch?
- March 10, 2022 - T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) is launching its breakthrough 5G Home Internet service for Metro by T-Mobile customers in more than 7,000 Metro stores across the country.
Take care and God bless
I believe it’s stated from T-Mobile that phone internet traffic takes priority over the home one. I considered this as a backup for my wife since she works from home but it would only be connecting her laptop but yeah I had my suspicions that there would be some issues with it
I agree. I only would use it as a secondary/back up not my main service
(We use cable for tv and our phones for the internet and I had an idea that Internet was used by many people nowadays for streaming and downloading on their TV's and things like that..) so that has led me to your reviews 😊
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for the insightful and informative videos (new subscriber here) and I look forward to seeing more from your channel. 🙂
Hey! Welcome to the world of tech. The tech world is ever growing it’s almost insane to keep up with everything or with the latest. Congrats on your new smart tv. Tons of people went the smart tv route to ditch cable because you can stream and watch shows from the apps. So it can drastically save you a lot of money. Thank you so much for you’re encouraging message, it really has made my day. Be Blessed!
@@TheBrandonBrews absolutely and channels like yours help even us who are way behind the times, to catch up and get with what's out there. So thank you and I appreciate your response as well. Gracias my friend. 🌄💛🙂
Thanks so much!!! Happy New Year!!!
I'm
How did it work out? Are you still using it now? I think I should’ve went this route and used it solely as the router. Thank you so much for watching
@@BobBridgesbob thank you very much for the info
