    Do you have a part number for the crown by any chance. I’m currently fixing one myself and struggling to find the exact crown

      TAGCRN-10Y from Watch Material website. 4.45mm size. Screw down. Gold plated.
      Hopefully that’s the part you’re looking for. 👍🤞👍🤞

      Thank you. The road thus far had not been without some serious bumps. 9 months into it, I was about to quit.

    Have you got any tips on replacing a crown gasket on a similar tag. I’ve got a WK1221 that is just about failing a pressure test. Case back O ring looks perfect so I assume it’s crown gasket.

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the gasket is within the crown. You’ll need to remove it, clean the crown in an ultrasonic cleaner, and replace the gasket. Don’t forget to silicon grease it.
      What sort of water pressure testing are you doing? If you use a tester with water in it, unlike the fancy new ones, you’ll see the source of the leak.

    Nice work mate, it always amazes me how anyone can work of such small devices...

      It’s definitely a learned skill. The first 9 months were on scrap watch movements that I made so many mistakes on. Broke a few, wrecked some parts, etc.
      It’s a steep learning curve that requires so much patience and fine motor skills.

    Great video... But you skipped the part about removing the broken crown... that's the part I needed to see... 😭

      Usually you just press the crown release or some movements require you to undo a setting screw half a turn. Every movement is different, and different model of TAG watches will come with a different movement. Usually the setting release is pretty obvious though.

      @@whatsstefon Awesome! Thanks! I can’t seem to find how to release the stem on my aquaracer but you’re video made me realize exactly what’s wrong with it. My crown needs replacement! Now even if i take it somewhere, I know what to say and what to tell them I need! Great video! The only one like it out there! You’re awesome. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly too!

    Great video! Do you happen to have the website in CA from where you ordered the stem? Very hard to find parts online for Tag. My model is CAN1011.BA0821
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

      I ordered from www.watchmaterial.com you will have to research which parts you need specifically for your model.

      I always like to just take a break, stop and look at what's going on.
      When I was young, I would see older people with experience and knowledge stop to look. I would be the young shithead who was gun-ho, ready to jump in and start pulling it apart to "fix" it. Which never worked.
      Older and arguably wiser, I now stop and do what those old farts I hated do. LOL

    How did you remove the crown and stem in the first place? I have a CAF1111 aquaracer whereby the crown doesn’t screw down now 😢

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually there will be a section on the movement to release the crown. It’s best to identify what movement the model of your watch has and see where the release is for that.

    Great video. I’m replacing the missing crown and broken stem on a friends Tag Heuer just like yours, professional 200. I found the exact stem for the ETA 955-112 movement but not exactly sure which crown to order. Did you order yours from Esslinger in USA and what crown did you order for that watch? They have many for Tag Heuer but I’m wondering if you got the 4.5 mm, 5.25, or 5.0 mm, or did you get one of the screw down crowns that come with new tube? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    This Tag Heuer 1500 is the Ladies version of the watch Barack Obama wore in the 90s/ early 2000s. Good instructional video.
