Tha k you for this video. My sister has a 2010 chevy aveo and it's currently at my house awaiting a head gasket replacement. Not looking forward to it, but this video definitely boosted my confidence.

This was my 1st time doing this the key to this is that timing gear holder and tq head bolts higher than stock and get a radiator cap ( new one ) and timing belt and stuff.. i really would not mind this car for my personal

@bstfordchannel923 was it the oil cooler leaking seeing you had oil in the radiator reservoir and the head gasket was okay?

    • @bstfordchannel923

I had oil in cause the head gasket blown so bad... It was coolant for sure... This is good engine they just did not tq the head studs enough and also the Rad cap was the issue also

@bstfordchannel923 I own a 2009 1.6l Manual now. I am experiencing issues with the clutch but I am not sure if its the slave or the master. I need to replace the clutch, master and slave just to make sure the clutch system is 100%.

Second headgasket for the same car sounds like operator error ngl.

Great vid enjoyed your commentary 👍so was the head gasket potentially ok and was the radiator cap or combination?

What's the labor estimate on this? Not the price, the number of hours that this job is expected to take.

it took me a day ... its not really that bad... just tq the head bolts around 80lbs cause the stock Tq numbers are low... and that special tool to hold the cams is needed THATS a great tool ( it goes between the 2 cams )

I once bought a VW Golf for unfortunately way too much, just to find out that i got fucked over with a broken head gasket. I just wanted to somehow get my money back, so i just bought the cheapest head gasket i could find, replaced it, changed the oil and sold it. It was a hack job. I didnt even bother to change out the old timing belt or the timing belt tensioner which already made a little noise. Didnt even get new cylinder head bolts. Just did a quick fix and sold it as is :'D

Man you THUG that one lol... You did what you had to do.. I bet the car is still running lol.. I got screwed i rather do videos and chat with you guys than do that ( shop type deal ) it wasnt the correct path it seemed.. and I needed money very quickly so Taxi work was best route..Having a shop would seem to be more for bragging and it wouldnt make money its a 25+ little shops around town and 4-5 backyard mechanics so its tough..

@@bstfordchannel923 Yeah thats understandable. I was considering working as a mechanic, but honestly, you're just dealing with other peoples cars problems all the time, to a point where you dont even wanna work on your own cars anymore. And i am not a good problem solver myself. I wouldnt do good as mechanic. It's enough that i fix my own cars as good as possible :D

@@JackTheFox I know now I couldnt I would mind doing engine swaps.. maybe stuff like that... I couldnt do that .. I rather videos and hang with you guys like this... I have a bit more control like this.. EVEN THIS I have little control do to time and funds..
