I love the details that went into this build, like the how they did the exhaust & the gear lighting on the trans tunnel. But father & son cruising at the end of the video? That stole the show. Double awesome!

That '40 Deluxe is beautiful ride you can actually go cross country. Imagine if you was in 1940 and that car pulls up people would just be amazed at the craftsmanship.
Cross country at 8-10 mpg.

Nice car man it freaking gets it i had a friend that had a forty with a hemi blower on top car was candy apple red the thing would get it but unfortunately Ed was diagnosed with lung cancer and later passed away and now his son has it Rip my friend.
Wow that’s a very nice build the exhaust note plus the super charger wine is on point. love that he kept it period correct. Of course it needed a modern day motor and suspension and things like that. But wow beautiful ride!

I would have chromed the rearend to give a deeper contrast to to bottom of the car and to help display that sweet exhaust!

I love how unlike other street rods or hot rods this car hasn't been chopped and shaved and everything else on the outside it looks like a 40 Ford Deluxe although I would have went with a Ford motor instead of a Chevy.

My father has a 1940 coupe delux built by hendrix Motorsports and few others. Dale Earnhardt drove my fathers car. Its original frame extended 3inches and 850hp and nitrous. The tires are 2ft wide in back and the blower sticks 2ft above front hood

Nice car! I don't like the gauge cluster being changed and losing the flavor and "look" of the original cluster.
I own 2 -1940 coupes. One black all original, 'opera' coupe down to the original flathead, (3rd owner).
The other is the award winner at Fresno car show in the 90s, Invite only. Blown, big block Chevy powered, narrowed 9" rear with the 18.5 Mickeys tucked nicely on the rear.
After seeing this LS powered Black beauty,.... I want one!

What a great build truly bitchen and the power it has
I have one that is in pieces and "I" didn't take it apart......that being said, MAY I come view yours at some point?? I want that suspension, but I can't do that motor......The car has a rebuilt Flat Head Ford V8 (that is locked up due to sitting up for so long), I have no seats, and no interior.....so I'd like to learn how you did the gage cluster etc.

It’s the modern equivalent of a small block 350. That’s what my dad runs in his 40. Old school hotrod with modern twist and power
I have a feeling that the tires would break free even at 450 hp at the wheels.
Car is top notch. This shop does very professional work, but if I owned this car, it would have a 427 or built coyote under the hood. To each their own, and it's not my car tho.

Why put so much money in it to have the wrong engine under the hood? Why! I am not impressed anymore... was looking forward to seeing an older Ford coupe, but a true one though. Just my opinion but what a waste of a build!
It's not a waste to the man who owns it. It's a beautiful vehicle that has a lot of hours put into making It that way. Point is, if it makes that person happy and it's their vision to have it this way, try to refrain from crapping all over it.
