I think I love this car more than all the others you've shown so far. I love love love the cars that aren't massively hopped up but are just made better.
Carol is awesome. What great car! It is so cool to see this kind of ride and this kind of owner featured on big muscle. She seems like the kind of classic car owner that truly loves her car. Love is what will keep this hobby alive. 9:55 is spot on. Great quote Mike.
Carol is a true artist. Her choice of paint and other design modifications show that. I need to find me a girl that is so excited about cars that she taught herself to hot wire, right?
one day I'd love to own this car... as a collector you can appreciate the story that comes with a vehicle and that's what makes them truly special and one of a kind. cause without a story, its just a 44 ford with a nice paint job. well done drive!!!
Best paint I've ever seen on a custom car! And wow what a colour, you can tell out in the sun it would look even better. A credit to the owner and as a hobby painter myself what an amazing job the painter has done.
Watching this video has just made me happy! Very hard to explain, but I've literally been smiling the whole entire time! Beautiful car with a lovely owner.
My mom drives a 2010 Camaro RS with a 304 HP V6 and seeing a mother driving a hot rod is cool enough but a grandma driving a hot rod is even more awesome.
I know times have changed and things will always change because time keeps moving but my god! The curves, the humps, the wide running board, that grille, the profile, what were they thinking, how did they even come up with a car design like this, what was it about the 40s that made them think of a design like this and why can't they do it now, this car is just beautiful. So much charisma, so much character, so weird, so cool.
+Yannick Bislin Agreed! I don't care if it looks like crap, got rust, and the paint is flaking off. I still love my car. Busted knuckles and all,for that killer cruise down a long country road,it's all worth it. Go drive your car!
+Yannick Bislin Kinda ironic because this car seems to be more about how it looks than how it drives, I'm sure it drives just fine though. It kind of is a status symbol due to the whole comment about not wanting any other car on the road to have the same paint as hers. No hate at all, love the story, love the final note, but I don't know if it really fit in this video.
+PhattyMo I had a 2000 Ford Explorer, with a pushrod 4 liter V6. Not exactly an ideal vehicle for having fun in the corners but I still did. To me, a true car enthusiast is someone who can fun driving no matter what car their in.
+Mister mood totally depends on how much bodywork it needs in preparation for paint. If you email me at chris@westcoastautocraft.com i can give you sone scenarios.
+Mister mood just guessing from a Bodyman perspective, your looking at anywhere from 4-10 thousand or more, labor to take it all apart, make sure all the parts will be able to go together easy, primer, sandpaper, time/labor, paint materials, colorsand/buff/denib/buff/buff put it all back together, make sure gaps are correct. just a full paintjob can take nearly a week if the car doesnt need cosmetic work and everything is there.
I agree 100% Mike, drive to drive. Enjoy the experience, it's not about how much $ you can dump into a vehicle. It's more about seeing how little you can spend still making it a reflection of you. Enjoy the build as much as the drive.
I was thinking I have seen that car a few times before. That is one great paint job and I normally don't like that style of paint. I am from the Livermore and Pleasanton area also. Glad to know the who is driving now.
I really miss this series - Mike Musto has to be the best car show host ever. Just a nice guy and not the loud mouth show off type that we've had to get used to. First class chap.
+Aki Ami Masen thanks man, but I relized its not for me to justify because insurance would be too high for a couple reasons, so ima have to get a ranger or something which is fine because it will be able to haul my bike and my kayack hah
10:40 I get the feeling that she might not mind, too much. You might even get a smile out of her. (as long as you didn't break anything!) Besides,I bet she's done a burnout or two in her day! :)
Love the car; paint, wheels/tires and stance are professional and locked in. The only thing I would do? Smooth tucked chrome bumpers. That's all, though.
Beautiful Paint Job. Good Clip. As the Years have gone on I've since started to favor the Street Rods & 40's era cars.rather than the 60's & 70 muscle cars. So much more of an attractive car.
I put 80k+ on my work truck a year, and at the end of a long day, I just want to hop in my Subaru and blast around or just cruise about. I've personally logged over 2million miles, and the drive ain't over yet :).
Smiles per mile ? Infinite ! Thank you all for the eleven minute grin ! : ) Huge respect to Carol and admiration to Mike for showing his respect for her for not jumping on it. It wasn't needed because the car and it's family couldn't get any cooler.
Aki Ami Masen The fact that someone put a V10 into a Mustang II of all things is what is impressive. And anyone who tells you that they have "enough" horsepower is not a gear head.
Aki Ami Masen If you can afford to modify a Mustang II and put a V10 in it you can afford to drive it. Which the guy who owns it does on a regular basis. So.....
Branon Fontaine the 350 Chevy isn't a bad engine and it's very tunable. People make over 600 horses with that. I just don't like it because it's in a Ford.
This may be the best story you guys have ever done. That little woman is awesome!
+n7hevn Yep ain't that the truth ;-)
One of my favorite Big Muscles. @8:31 I wanted to hug this lady, lol. Awesome 40' Ford!
+Groovy hippie (Groovie Hippie) Me too, I want her to be my Grandma
I think I love this car more than all the others you've shown so far. I love love love the cars that aren't massively hopped up but are just made better.

Car enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes.
and ages
Carol is a true artist. Her choice of paint and other design modifications show that. I need to find me a girl that is so excited about cars that she taught herself to hot wire, right?
You are right stingray. She was so active and very involved in every aspect of the build process. I mean REALLY active. She made ever decision.
one day I'd love to own this car... as a collector you can appreciate the story that comes with a vehicle and that's what makes them truly special and one of a kind. cause without a story, its just a 44 ford with a nice paint job. well done drive!!!
Stunning color Carol!
The worst thing she could say is, "Mike, I am disappointed." lol Beautiful car, great video!
Best paint I've ever seen on a custom car! And wow what a colour, you can tell out in the sun it would look even better. A credit to the owner and as a hobby painter myself what an amazing job the painter has done.
Thank you so much.
Watching this video has just made me happy! Very hard to explain, but I've literally been smiling the whole entire time! Beautiful car with a lovely owner.
"I would probably cry if she yelled at me" another great video Mike.
I enjoy watching your videos. Kool ride and I love the paint job. Very Nice!!👍
Damn that candy paint looks good . Motor sounds great as wel
My mom drives a 2010 Camaro RS with a 304 HP V6 and seeing a mother driving a hot rod is cool enough but a grandma driving a hot rod is even more awesome.
Now you just need to find the little old lady from Pasadena with a super stock Dodge. lol! One of the best episodes yet.
Really refreshing episode.
The devil is in the detail and the details of this car are immaculate.
I know times have changed and things will always change because time keeps moving but my god! Such a cool video/story/woman! Loved it !
I love you keeping it real, Mike!! Very nice lady with a beautiful car! Loved it!! :-)
+FasterthaMyou Cheers and thank you!
Very nice car. Great job!
I love the body shape of the car and the paint job is one of the best I've seen. I think she could make a lot of money designing cars.
Oh my God, that paint is beautiful!
Thank you Alex. It is the prettiest paint job i have ever done.
Beautiful vehicle. Enjoy it!
9:55 best final sentence i've heard in a long time!
+Yannick Bislin Agreed! I don't care if it looks like crap, got rust, and the paint is flaking off. I still love my car.
Busted knuckles and all,for that killer cruise down a long country road,it's all worth it.

Great paint
+Bob Johnson It's beautiful.
Thank you. As nice as it is in the video it really does not capture how beautiful it us in person. It is the prettiest paint job i have ever done.
+Mister mood totally depends on how much bodywork it needs in preparation for paint. If you email me at chris@westcoastautocraft.com i can give you sone scenarios.

+WestCoastAutoCraft Stunning paint! Love the color!
This woman is golden
The paint job fits that car very well.
I love this episode so much
What a cool lady...that car is sweet.
That's is one badass car for one badass grandma, but oh lawd that stance though 3:57 is flawless.
Pretty cool video ! Pretty Nice Grandma! Perfect car !
I agree 100% Mike, drive to drive. Enjoy the experience, it's not about how much $ you can dump into a vehicle. It's more about seeing how little you can spend still making it a reflection of you. Enjoy the build as much as the drive.
This is definitely at the upper end of my top 5 episodes.
40 Ford, one of the best things to me is the tail lights,I really love those lights, that's how you always know that's a 40 Ford.
very nice paintjob, sweet ride, go granny 😊
best episode ever thank you so much
I was thinking I have seen that car a few times before. That is one great paint job and I normally don't like that style of paint. I am from the Livermore and Pleasanton area also. Glad to know the who is driving now.
Great episode! By far the "feel good" edition of /drive.
I really miss this series - Mike Musto has to be the best car show host ever. Just a nice guy and not the loud mouth show off type that we've had to get used to. First class chap.
Coolest grandma ever.
My dream vehicle has to be a 1966 F100, but this car is beautiful, thr amount of detail is awesome
Wow
+Aki Ami Masen thanks man, but I relized its not for me to justify because insurance would be too high for a couple reasons, so ima have to get a ranger or something which is fine because it will be able to haul my bike and my kayack hah
+Aki Ami Masen yeah ik but the thing is, Im only 15 and im sure it will br a while until I can afford a project car haha
East Bay Represent!! I hope to see her rolling around one of these days.
This episode was awesome, get more old timers on here!
10:40 I get the feeling that she might not mind, too much. You might even get a smile out of her. (as long as you didn't break anything!) Besides,I bet she's done a burnout or two in her day! :)
All Grandma's need cars like this, ok maybe not all of em, but the cool ones at least.
what a nice segment...cool lady cool car
Great video guys.
Great vid!!
sweet ride grandma!
Cool lady with a really cool car!
What's this talk about it being so small, in most places in the world it's still fucking massive.
the pipes hanging down just kills it for me... step it up guys
Love the car; paint, wheels/tires and stance are professional and locked in. The only thing I would do? Smooth tucked chrome bumpers. That's all, though.
I like to drive! Wear my dings with pride!
Beautiful Paint Job. Good Clip. As the Years have gone on I've since started to favor the Street Rods & 40's era cars.rather than the 60's & 70 muscle cars. So much more of an attractive car.
I wish I had a grandma like that (:
I put 80k+ on my work truck a year, and at the end of a long day, I just want to hop in my Subaru and blast around or just cruise about. I've personally logged over 2million miles, and the drive ain't over yet :).
Cool as this gal is, I'll bet she was a real ball-buster back in the day =D
Her and her husband are two of the sweetest people i have ever met.
i still drive my 69 4 speed roadrunner every day i can, New Zealand weather allowing. She is the coolest granny ever.
i can totally understand her why she loves the forty Ford :-)
great video.
Cool is an understatement
Love those wheels very different 👍🏻👏🏻
Such a cool car! I like it so much better than the 1500 hp rat rod that you cant even get on the gas!!
Cool lady, cool episode
Road trip man, road trip... NIce ride.

I love those wheels.
Cute little car.
my best friend a gear head the other day he told me he was interested maybe building a 40 coupe . I think he will like this video.
It has mirrors, nice! :)
Question anyone can answer does big muscle dofilming in the bay area? Alot of these drives are in my backyard.
Good job!
Fucking flawless
Now that's a sweet ride. And she likes non oem wheels!
Smiles per mile ? Infinite ! Thank you all for the eleven minute grin ! : ) Huge respect to Carol and admiration to Mike for showing his respect for her for not jumping on it. It wasn't needed because the car and it's family couldn't get any cooler.
Dislike for Grandmas Car? .... Back in your Room and Shame on you!
Gorgeous car
That's awesome.
Uno de mis FAVORITOS carros.
Cool Car!
I'm genuinely upset that you haven't done a video with the V10 Mustang II.
+Daniel Collins Wait, what? Details!
Um... The Mustang II that's powered by a V10 is legit. It was featured in Mustangs Monthyl magazine. It's pretty easily googled.
So.....
cool lady. respect
Absolute sweetness
It's a Ford it should have a Ford power plant but hey that's my opinion
+darrian maines Yeah I was thinking that to but it's an awesome car still very nice though.
Well, with all do respect putting a SBC in an old ford is about as traditional as any Hotrod treatment.
I agree 1000%, puttin a junk-ass Chevy motor in it IS HORSESHIT....I stopped watching this vid as soon as I learned it had a pos GM motor....
Branon Fontaine the 350 Chevy isn't a bad engine and it's very tunable. People make over 600 horses with that. I just don't like it because it's in a Ford.
cool ride!!
cool video :)
Damn, the camera and you guys must've been cramped in there. No place to mount the camera? I feel your pain!
If I was a nice old lady I could have my dream car.
I came here for the Coup and left with the Coug
How do you get in!? She took off the door handles!
Rock on granny.
Everything is smooth... except for the conflict with that Chevy being in a Ford...
Why did they stop Big Muscle, this was their best show.
