I will say, I have always been fond of this project. One question that I always had was this: What plans do you have for Morphex? (Random rambling of ideas after this. Ignore if you want to) Me being an American, I thought of an armored unit. But that would be silly, and projects like this tend to be more ambitious. I then thought of a toy. After all, Morphex is without a doubt entertaining. Perhaps an easily storable survey unit. Maybe delivery? Transportation? Household pet? Search and rescue? Space exploration? Or maybe I'm blowing this out proportion and this is just a thing you wanted to make for yourself.
CyborgeBolt sorry I’m late but I do think it would only be viable for jobs that are really non-dangerous just because of the fact that it would be exposing really important servos and circuits with every move, leaving a ton of weak spots. I think space work could be a good job for it, I just can’t think of what kind.
@@normanvanwyk1127 It would add significant weight to armor the insides, plus there may not be enough room. It would also need to incorporate specifically-shaped sloped armor to be viable in combat. The outer shell is definitely a solid armored area, but shielding the internals would be hard. However your idea of jumping mechanisms would definitely be a better thing to implement if the robot were kept small, because then some sort of agility could make up for its weakness. We’re pretty far off in terms of robot technology for making a design like this be able to move very quickly, but I’m guessing that soon enough we’ll get there. Sorry, I’m very critical of designs but it’s always best to think of new ideas because that’s how we get anywhere in the first place.
would love to see plans or a kit available for this one on the robot store. id love to put one together about grape fruit size. I have several ideas for applications of this robot modified slightly.
Great Job MAN!! I'm following this project several years now, waiting to see new videos! Thanks. and do not stop working on it, very promising concept!
This is some creative engineering. I imagine it exploring mars or something. I think it could easily have some aerodynamics that would keep it grounded in sandstorms when modified a little. Very very impressive work there. I just want more of it.
I think that this happened in Norway! My reason for this is that I heard Norwegian, our laungwitch, and that ain't spoken outside of Norway, at least not normally.
BB-8's got nothing on this! Also, I'm wondering if a larger version of this could be made that could be ridden in. Imagine turning it into a suit that actually gives you a morphball!
when i saw this for the first time i thought it was something from a videogame, so i searched morphex irl and the same videos popped up, so im very impressed

I imagine that this could have some military applications. Not as loud as a drone and it could be muffled. I've been trying to learn this too but don't know where to start and what'll be needing, so could you please help me?
Zenta, could we get in contact? I really could use your help. I am building a small version of Boston Dynamics's Spot mini, and i really need help setting up the IK. I found some code here and there, but nothing seems to work the way it should. IK is not my strong point.... Please get in contact with me!
this is fucking amazing i cannot fathom how amazing this fucking robot is its so incredible how humans (bored people at that) can create these amazing fucking creations
@@ZentaRobotics I know, maybe i'm too annoying now, but maybe you still have this robot with you and can send me some photos of mechanisms? Because i'm trying to repeat yor robot in blender 3d looking on videos and reading your articles, but its too hard and in some mechanisms impossible to do....

Hi i really appreciate your work so i want to ask you something. Where can i download phoenix excel program? Does it use arduino? Because i would like to buildt an Hexapod as a proyect for the school. Thanks you very much
imagine playing soccer but the soccer is this and you passed all the enemy players and made your beautiful shot and the soccer just grows its own feet and walks away from the gate..... but seriously this would be fun as a soccer. Probably the closest we gonna get to quidich
finally! aperture sience made a new type of core! cave johnson: *does ad* cave johnson (in the ad): attention all citenzens! we have made a new type of core AKA: the morphcore!
Still the most original and most impressive hobby robot I've seen.
Still would buy for an above-average drone price
Is it purchasable?
NOW MAKE IT JUMP AT PEOPLE
Absolutely agree. I saw all of them, but that one special. Hope author will share good project and will post diy. That would be awesome.
The Zenta's hexapods are the best that I ever saw... Incredible smooth reverse cinematics!
its a 12 pods

maybe even adding pneumatic or springloaded systems which allow the robot to jump would be quite cool also

I’ve payed visits to your blog frequently, but not much has happened for the longest time. Great to see some new content from you! I’m a huge fan ;)
Kinda reminds me of those electric balls from half-life 2.
This > BB8
Amazing! Makes me so happy to see that youre still working on this man!

is a jet taking off in the background
it is morphex's servos
Yessss finally, i really love this project !!!!! You are a genius
make it six times bigger, and unleash it on New York!

I love this robot. I wonder from what the resonant hf is coming from.
this thing needs the voice of a portal 2 turret

Ohhh!!! You’ve added lights now!
God I wish I had the patience and skill to learn all of this
Amazing job as always!!!
the lights where already there
im still surprised nothing like this exists in nature aside from the noise it just looks so organic
Would like to see any robot arm builds you have done!
🎉 It rolled so much🎉

It’s amazing, but it’s servo motors are way too loud. Would you mind if you could cover some servo motors in aerogel to mute it?

Wait, you made this YOURSELF?
Is the central motor continuous? Do you only use ultra sonic sensors or only accelerometers for orientation?

I bet DARPA being like WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT SHIT DOWN. And I bet they were already in touch with that engineer too.
Wow, yo vi este robot cuando estaba en beta, pero ahora veo que está mucho más completo. Simplemente genial.
Giant robot rolly-polly is back
Is everything you build self-funded?
I want to make one, can you provide the information?
where do you buy it
I wonder how pets react to it
It's a little bit funny seeing the number of people who rapidly back off when that thing starts moving towards them.
Yess more Morphex!
Where do i get that bakugan?
Now give it some AI and make it make little cute noises so its like a pet
Please put this up for sale
I miss hearing the turret voice :((

I’d recommend redesigning some stuff so that it can move 100% on its own, without needing a push
Not sure what you mean by moving 100% by itself? It doesn't need a push, it's an option to push it.
For some reason I want to purchase this so badly
In 2018, we lived in the future.
How do I make one...
This is amazing
I miss the days when it had Portal 2 turret voice :c
it was a edit from another guy tho
What did a morphex do!? Just roll up and walk!?
Would look great in a sci-fi movie!
can't help but think of the robots in 'meet the robinsons'
i'd like to buy 20 of these and have them patrol my warehouse.
in addition i'd hook up 2 way mic system and cameras if that was possible.
That's actually cool that's the same robot but it looks different and I heard it say move
