I normally stretch 4-6months...what was key for me is protective styling, trimming and ensuring i keep up with my shampooing and conditioning periodically...my hair is 4c relaxed

There is no lack of confidence or insecurity here! Lol. I laugh every time you compliment your own hair. It’s refreshing. I wish all women were so genuinely delighted in ourselves!

I wish i can wash my hair at home like you. Hairdressers think they know everything and wouldn't allow you to do what you think is good for your hair.

Great tips! I am about to embark on my first ever long term stretch. My aim is to relax only twice a year. I am only 8 weeks post relaxer and the hair is still manageable. My plan is to use loose crochet styles where my fine hair is secured in cornrows versus box braids. You’re absolutely right about being patient when handling the two textures. Washing in sections is another valuable tip as I’ve found tangles happen the most during the washing process. Your hair looks absolutely fabulous!! So full and beautiful. Much love from another yaadie 🇯🇲 in Canada 🇨🇦

Honestly for me, no matter what I do if I stretch beyond 8 weeks with loose hair, finger detangling, deep conditioning doesn’t do much for me. Hair in front gets really matted. So only protective styling at this point and when I take out the protective style, I am braiding the hair back in those small braids and washing the hair in those braids. Loose hair, new growth, washing and me don’t agree 😂

Hey thanks for the comment start doing long term protective style after the 8 weeks and after you remove it follow the tips and back in another protective style and let me know how that works

    Hi.
    Thank you for the tips.
My hair is almost the length of your hair. The problem I am have is how to choose the right products and where to get it as well. My hair is very dry , and as such difficult to where it out like you're doing . So what I do is plate cover wigs after 3months I lose it and plate again then I'll relaxed after 6month. So if you can recommend products that will help me I'll be grateful.👏

I would wear my braids for up to two and a half months mainly and yes I wash my hair while wearing the braids once or twice the most .
I wear my cornrows for 2 -4 weeks and no I don't wash my hair while wearing cornrows

Hi. Thank you for the tips💗 I'm having a major setback because we were not allowed to wear weaves in my past job😏
Now I wanna wear long protective styles to recover, please could you tell me what is the longer you think we should wear long term protective styles to avoid breakage?
I'm medium 4c with fine strands.
