Wow that's crazy! I wore a tight slick back bun the other day, but took it out at the end of the day. No way was I going to be in pain and possibly experience hair loss for a hairstyle.

@@reginagordon4246those law suits are based on formaldehyde based relaxers, not traditional hydroxide relaxers typically used by black women. There has never been a direct causal link between hydroxide relaxers and cancer, but researchers have analyzed a correlation.
@@beckya640There is no such thing as formaldehyde relaxers. Some relaxers and other hair care products may release formaldehyde due to the preservative, but every single relaxer or perm (curly or straight) uses hydroxide because that's the ingredient that breaks the bond.

If you think relaxer aren’t a problem you haven’t been paying attention to all the lawsuit and health issues that happened due to that chemical.

@beckya640 Braziluan blowouts are NOT relaxers, and even so, they do not use formaldehyde as an ingredient. Formaldehyde is released after using heat.

Why not twist the hair instead and comb less and do finger combing.
Because I want to make sure my hair is fully detangled and remov all the shedded hair
