thanks for the video! you are making me excited! just bought mine, and waiting for it to arrive! having adult money is awesome lol. waiting for part 2!
I just got an fcx18 and put some nice 60mm tires on with a 7mm offset set of wheels and it no longer flips, roles and it looks awesome and fills the wheel well very nice.
I think the fms is perfect for its price.full light system, portal axels, foam tires, metal rise kit,2 speed transmission for only 30$ more than a trx4m. I have 3 trx4ms 1 fully built and I can’t wait for my fms Monday
Great video you covered a lot of ground relatively quickly. Before I watched this i already knew that Im getting one I have the Brazer & have Injora metal oil filled shocks & it’s made a huge difference. You probably already heard that FMS is having a 2 day free event this coming weekend Saturday in Oxnard & Sunday in Thousand Oaks what is interesting is I went to Proline By the Fire & Furitek was there with the new mini but FMS was not there. Now a week later they are having this free event I’ve already registered i live in Ventura County & both locations are 30 min. away. Super excited they are having this event. The owner will be there & looks like he enjoys RC’s just like we all do. Mountain Bike season slowly down maybe you’ll have time to make it. 😉
This FCX18 has so much potential. Versatile and realistic too. Definitely worth modding to get some more performance. Can it be done without sacrificing the scale looks? Crazy 2nd gear speed!!
I just ordered the FMS FCX18 LC 80 last week, still waiting for delivery. My question is regarding the Lipo battery. where can I buy better batteries from? What kind of aftermarket connector to I need to buy. Thanks for your help. Love your videos, I have learned a lot from them.
I don't understand the 2 speed in such a small scale. Does it suffer from the sloppy drivetrain that the 1/12 Willys and FJ45 have? Unloaded downhills are frustrating on those rigs. Very jerky. Good video! Thanks for all you do!
2-speed in a small scale does two things. First it gives awesome torque and modulation in low gear without having to use expensive or brushless motors. Then it allows wheel speed and momentum in technical or loose areas in 2nd gear. Also for 1/18 size, it's big enough to trail crawl with you you can pack it in a backpack and/or hike up a fun trail. Drivetrain is pretty tight. Not A+ but good enough not to get slop in the way.
I'm not saying this guy specifically, but I would watch what you buy. FMS's ad dept. aka TH-camrs last year raved and became all animated about the 1/18 1983 Hilux and that has to be the biggest POS R/C I've ever owned. Do your own research and comparison and be an astute buyer regarding what is best for your budget and needs. This seems better, but I'm remaining highly cautious with FMS. They can't even get their part numbers correct for the FCX24 Max Smasher (which happens to be one of my favorite R/Cs).
My older version all gray fms lc80 didn’t last but 9 months then 45 bucks and about a month at hobbytown to fix…only to break again a short time later..I’ll pass
Thank you for showing the comparison and sizes with popular models. Are there options for non-portal axles for the FCX18 platform? That’s my one complaint about this 80 series Land Cruiser. get rid of those damn portals.
I have the grey model. I noticed that when crawling if you change from low speed to high speed the vehicle rolls back. Have I accidentally changed something or do I have to adjust something. PLEASE HELP. thanks in advance
This RC car for $180 or the FMS 1/24 FCX24M Land Rover Camel Trophy Edition RTR for $120. Which would be a better purchase when looking at quality of components?
...they not only come with so many releases. Every new car is a real improvement of the predecessor. And the price allways fair. I think they dominate the market of minicrawlers with their strategy of many releases, real improvement and pricepolicy.
I just herd you speak a little Hawaiian Pidgin brah! So good yah? Love this review as I have been debating about getting the TRAXASS4m vs this new 1/18 scale FMS Landcruiser! Great job!
i think redcat furitek then fms traxxas so outdated stagnet only 1speed it comes in last same with high trail 1 speed roll over lol its getting where traxxas just cant compete anymore to much modification and they still roll over way to easy.thanks for the video
@@RCReviewChannel it seems I’m going to have to go brushless to do that. I just stripped a few transmission gears so I’m using the opportunity to go brushless!
The 13 dollar purple motor from injora for the trx4m makes a gigantic difference in speed and low end power. Stock gearing on mine it’s probably almost as fast as the fcx, but still has tons of low end torque. Honestly a needed upgrade along with weight and a metal driveline. Stock motor honestly really is a turd tho
Come on man us crawler guys know losi started it all. Not axial. Losi for some reason was way early. Would love to see a new losi micro or mini crawler .
Hi! I usually watch your videos. Looking at this one thow... Long story short. You say Trx made a dumb move not gluing the tires on TRX4M. Well, actually they give customers, like me, options: glue the tires or buy beadlocks. I can buy beadlocks from them, or other manufacturers and be able to use the original tires, rather then buy new sets of tires. Less money spent, more options for customization. You also say you are a moder and a builder and you like the options. Well, they gave you (and me, and all other customers) the option to mod the rigs. If you wish to glue them, you are free to do so. Just saying. Other then that, nice video. Keep up the good work! ✌️ P. S. Not a Trx fanboy. I own rigs from FMS, Axial and other brands as well. And I love all of my rigs.
Hey man this video seems really rushed. There is a lot of wrong information like the weight distributions, motor size for traxxas, no foams on traxxas stock wheels. I’m sure there were a few other things. Also the timelines for the releases weren’t spot on really. Not a bad video but needs clarification. I have all these rigs and can verify the info
Yeah, yeah, that's a fair comment as I did notice the errors now! I was on vacation for a week so I had to rally on this as soon as I got home since there was an absence of new content on the channel. I rushed it but it still took 12+ hours of shooting and editing!! Good news is I was able to edit out a lot of the false statements. Thanks for the note.

I have the TRX4M. Honestly it's meh. Traxxas has all the hop up parts to make it really good, and that's my real rub with it. Everything has to be upgraded and it runs the price up well over $200. Traxxas sold a half azzed truck to make money on accessories. They could have done better and decided not too. The FMS comes stock with better electronics, bearings all around, 2 speed trans, full light kit, potal axles.

I bought two, 1 for myself and 1 for my son… Do not buy this rc it broke on the first day, yes you can get parts but it will continue to break in many different ways…my son is extremely disappointed.. do not waste your money!!!
Absolute garbage delicate plastic gearing. Both plastic drive gears cracked through within the first 30 min indoors on a flat rug (!). Installed metal differentials and drive shafts. 5 min virgin outside run and a little grass wrapped around a tire. Two seconds of binding and first gear in the transmission popped. Junk junk junk

My thoughts exactly!!!!!!!

We are gonna crank it out and test!!!
This is awesome. I cannot wait for them to release those bundles with the interiors & figures, & other scale stuff like they said. Then I'll buy one.
Yeah, I saw a glimpse of what they had planned and it is soooo cool.

How does it compare to the hobby plus cr18p evo? Or even the fcx24 if those seem bigger than 24 scale.

Meus makes a gear set for the Trx4m inbetween the low and stock.
I will look that up. A middle ground gear is exactly what's needed when using the stock motor.

Why didn't you fit the supplied o rings to the Fcx24 etc, to damp the shocks?
Is it just me or did your steering come off alignment from 16:05 onwards? I have that issue on my K5
I will check. That's usually the servo horn slipping.
