Proably the only video on TH-cam that explain the reality of the situation. I spent 5 hours yesterday to make this work consistently but it did not. I plan to move on to Dummy battery with USB C connected to PD and use the USB C on Camera to connect to gimbal. Fingers crossed. It should work but you never know until you get it working.
How did that go? I ordered some dummy batteries yesterday in hopes that i can accomplish the same . I Was uncertain which Dummy battery to get and from what company as I was getting mixed reviews from all. Ended up buying 3 different ones in the hopes that one will work. Would love to hear your feedback, Thanks!
the reason why the other ones didnt deliver power is they did not have the rated Wattage. i found this out with some usb C cables will not work at all unless they are rated for 100w
Unfortunately it’s not worth the hassle since it doesn’t always work. Good solution but I’d also be careful. My camera froze once doing this, had to remove the battery. I don’t use it because it’s too risky for me.
Hi, thank you for watching. In photo mode, the animal eye AF is as good as on the R5. But in videomode, it has no animal detecting at all. There you have only let's call it "human" eye AF. To track an animal, I often click on the monitor to make an object AF, what works ok.
Thank you for watching the video. The Cable that works with my R5C is this one www.zooaux.com/products/usb-c-splitter-zooaux-dual-usb-c-headphone-and-charger-adapter-2-in-1-type-c-audio-dongle-cable-with-pd-60w-fast-charging-support-call-music-for-pixel-4-3-xl-galaxy-s21-s20-s20-note-20-10-xperia
Ok, strange, it works with my equipment. I think the R5MKII will have 2x usb-c connectors,, there everything will work "out of the Box", and there the wireless solution should also work. I hope with the R5MKII and with a R5C MKII the 8K RAW 60fps will work without an external battery. This would make the use of the Gimbal with 8K-RAW 60 much easier. Sorry that it doesn't work for you.
For the 8K-RAW without start stopping, you won't need an extra cable. To make it work most of the time, you can get a dual USB-C splitter like the one from zooaux. But the link I bought it doesn't exist anymore. As a powerbank, I use an aukey PB-XD26 26800 mAh. But here most PB with power delyvery will work, also most anker PB's.
@ishanagarwalphotography in the description I saw 63W, I don't know the minimum, but with this one it works. www.microspot.ch/de/powerbank--c415000/aukey-pb-xd26-26800-mah-quick-charge-3-0-power-delivery-2-0--p0002366147?gclid=CjwKCAjw-eKpBhAbEiwAqFL0movahbLUZa0SnvM0MEy6BCNEo3xg_3k1yEOHzMhZ_tEWOnkkkwM2KxoC2MAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
@ishanagarwalphotography what you can also use is a V-Mount Akku like the FXLION Nano two then cou would need to buy a adapter to mount it directly to your cage. Yust with my cage I can't use the micro when the V-Mount is attached, but it looks more professional.
The lowest setting is, when you ser 16mm crop mode and then go down to 1270 x 720. But it makes no sense for me to shoot with so low settings. I almost always shoot in 8K RAW to get the best quality, also when you set a low output resolution in the editing software.
Having same issue with my R5C, glad you gave me the answer! Thank you...

Do dummy batteries allow for 8K 60p? I thought only USB PD via the port worked for 8K 60p. Hope I’m wrong on that.
Thanks for the straightforward short answer and the not much time wasted for nothing
Thanks for the info and for the examples of stuff that didn’t work. This is a useful video.
Thank you for sharing all your disappointments so no one else has to try them!

I believe you can do the start/stop through a bluetooth connection to the camera. The Ronin manual indicates Canon cameras support this.
R5c has no Bluetooth connection in video mode man
I have usb splitter, it works
Thanks for the video! Does your camera still function well using this method?

Thank you for the Answer, I will continue shooting like that, but as you said, it is risky as the R5C is not made to work like this.
Is animal detect not good on R5C i tried it on neighbour's dog it didnt catch focus automatically. Only eye focusing when i press AF button

Hi,
Is working but not charging same time. Is that correct?
Do you have a link to the specific cable that worked for you?
