Here are the top 20 highest-paying medical specialties in the US, based on average annual income:
    - *1. Neurosurgery*: $763,908 ¹
    - *2. Thoracic Surgery*: $720,634 ¹
    - *3. Orthopedic Surgery*: $654,815 ¹
    - *4. Plastic Surgery*: $619,812 ¹
    - *5. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery*: $603,623 ¹
    - *6. Radiation Oncology*: $569,170 ¹
    - *7. Cardiology*: $565,485 ¹
    - *8. Vascular Surgery*: $556,070 ¹
    - *9. Radiology*: $531,983 ¹
    - *10. Urology*: $529,140 ¹
    - *11. Gastroenterology*: $514,208 ¹
    - *12. Otolaryngology (ENT)*: $502,543 ¹
    - *13. Anesthesiology*: $494,522 ¹
    - *14. Dermatology*: $493,659 ¹
    - *15. Oncology*: $479,754 ¹
    - *16. Ophthalmology*: $468,581 ¹
    - *17. General Surgery*: $464,071 ¹
    - *18. Colon & Rectal Surgery*: $455,282 ¹
    - *19. Pulmonology*: $410,905 ¹
    - *20. Emergency Medicine*: $398,990 ¹
These figures are based on the Physician Compensation Report ¹. Keep in mind that salaries can vary depending on factors like location, experience, and employer benefits. Wisconsin, Indiana, and Georgia are among the top-paying states for physicians ¹.
The lowest-earning medical branches in the US are:
    - *Pediatrics*: $260,000, focusing on the health and well-being of children from infancy to adolescence ¹.
    - *Diabetes and Endocrinology*: $256,000, dealing with hormone-related disorders and diabetes management ¹.
    - *Infectious Diseases*: $261,000, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of infections ¹.
    - *Public Health & Preventive Medicine*: $263,000, emphasizing preventive care and community health ¹.
    - *Rheumatology*: $286,000, treating musculoskeletal diseases and autoimmune disorders [1).
Keep in mind that while salary is an important consideration, it's not the only factor to consider when choosing a medical specialty. Personal interest, patient relationships, and work-life balance are also crucial aspects to think about ¹.
Usually Indian trend follows USA trend after few years..
In India we dont have such comparative list too.. So USA list help us to decide.
Endocrinoligy in India though is a bright future in India as big gap in demand and supply..
Data ratio link I took from here...
Though this video is not about data of doctor population ratio.... Video is based upon my experience of 20 years as medical teacher and practitioner....
Analysis is not data driven,... Its based on practical ground experiences

In usa only radiologist do scans and each scan costs more than 1k dollars and mri even costs 4-5k $ so even if radiologists does 10 scans he gives more revenue compared to 50 patients seen by internal medicine or other physician branches, and there are intervention procedures too in radiology in which patient directly goes to radiologist

      5 yrs critical care experience.
Salary offered is still less than 1 lakh per month.
And sometimes hospital refuses to give salary even, mostly senior doctors steal the salary.
Better to learn coding programming and leave medicine to the thugs which run this corrupt system.
Im 34 years old and my salary in Delhi is 90k. Get your kid admitted in good school or try to get married in this salary then you'll understand the reality of this life.

Thanks for raising an issue like this.
I am an Addl.CMO and very worried to think about the future of young pass out doctors in our country.
Many doctors join government job but soon they start trying to avoid and manage their duties. Many go for higher studies like PG in Anatomy,Physiology and similar courses of very little importance( for clinical practice ) simply to avoid working in a smaller place.
In coming days all districts are going to have a medical college each. But the quality of teaching is very very poor. No well qualified teachers are available. Above all they lack dedication and commitment to serve.
At the same time the government is pushing Ayush MOs in government jobs. They are fast replacing the usual MBBS doctors in PHCs CHCs RHs and so on.
So I see a very bleak prospect for our future MBBS doctors.
Only those will survive who are genuinely skilled, dedicated and ready to adapt.

The Doctors want Hard Cash and an affluent Life like Tycoons, they are not interested in Rural India. The mismatch of Economic help them to exploit the poor, deprived Citizens, for which there is no Remedy. In àny profession, only the Qualified, skilled and Dedicated should Survive, and the Medical practice is no exception. As of today, they are taking advantage of the process and system that the Number of Doctors is pathetically and Intentionally Low in our ill-fated, country. Now, with the new Medical Colleges, the so called Doctors are going to face the Music.
In no civilised country, Doctors are so affluent compared to other professionals.
The Quality of the profession ,as you have mentioned,is pathetic both in Clinical practice and Teaching., becoz these Doctors are exploiting the situation that Government never bothered about the Vital Ratio.

    • @roger8960

Factory to band nhi ho sakta ab, but quality aur quantity pe control kiya ja sakta hai.
NEXT ko jald se jald introduce kar dena chahiye, like USMLE..
NEXT should be conducted in 2 steps.
And centres should be in different state.

My friends who did btech from IIT are earning 2lac a month, but MBBS graduates like me are only getting 50-80k max per month, don't choose this profession, even my friends who are from other good colleges are earning more than 12 lac a yr after BTech
Edit : Sometimes it is even lesser and many hospitals are hiring these ayurvedic or homeopathic doctors at lower salary if MBBS doctors are asking more,n that's why some MBBS doctors are working for just 25k salary also
There are quacks also who are practicing without degree and earning lacs and even doing procedures and surgeries,
Beauty parlors are doing procedures of dermatologists , pls don't choose this profession it is getting very highly saturated, doctors are also jobless in india.
