Tiong Bahru is an amazing small town filled with eateries. Do drop by if you are in town. HappyCat.黑皮猫 has brought to you almost most of the popular eateries in this small town.
Greetings from India!!! I loved your selection of restaurants in this video and the offerings therein. And your food closeups are super!!! I will check out these restaurants the next time I am in Singapore. I have tried the Founder BKT, among others. I prefer the Singaporean BKT, versus the strong and herbal Penang version. I will try out the porridge too. I am a big fan of Cantonese congee, and I have also tried the famous frog's legs porridge in Geylang. The Bangkok version of the porridge is called jok, and I absolutely love it!!! The Vietnamese have their own version called chok. I have never tried congee in Singapore (only in HK), and once when I went looking for it, I ended up with the Teochew version with the whole rice in it. I must say, I did not like it. Thanks for the recommendations!
The pioneer hawker migrated from Southern part of China and brought with them the hometown cuisine. These shop kept the traditional way of cooking so it could be as authentic as you could find. Thanks for visiting.
