I was 13 yrs. old (I'm 63 now-in 2021) when Jim Morrison died in 1971, and my acquaintance and I were both quite surprised when we went to visit his gravesite and there were about 20 -30 teens, young adults, etc. sitting or standing near who were not BORN(yet) when he passed away! There were all speaking discreetly, being thoughtful and considerate of the visitors who came to "see" Jim.
He's been "gone" for 50 years now. P.S.I wonder if people will still be visiting in 2071. Miss 'ya Jim!

I visited the cemetery years ago, probably in the late 90's when they didn't have the barriers around Morrison's grave. The Collected Works of Jim Morrison is out now and available on Amazon and I'm currently reading it. It has most, if not all, of his saved works that have been in a temperature-controlled vault for years.

Edith Piaf is also buried there. I was fortunate enough to visit Jim Morrison's grave when there were no lines, no barricades, no crowds, it was AMAZING!

Jim Morrison is not dead. He, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, own and operate a B&B on Gabriola Island, British Columbia.

You did a fantastic job on this video. These people are full of love and peace. And I think it's pretty dam cool that they want to express how they feel. The cops should go and well you know what I mean lol. He is frozen in time in all of our minds. Awesome work well done.

@@christostiger5425 If what you are saying is true? Then maybe his sister and brother should relocate Jim back to the states? And that would also be a good time if they wished to find out if that is really him. Sure would put the whole thing to rest.

Been there many times and to the apart where he died. Jim was gifted but he let us down. We're all searching for a direction and Jim helped. But he OD'd on heroin and left us for dead. :)

Was there Feb 1980 and April 1987... first time there was practically nothing on the grave - just a few sea shells a few flowers apart from my bunch I laid down and several roaches and graffiti for a radius of 100m... and I was sober too as was morning....1987 there was the bust of Jim although daubed with paint and lots of empty bottles drunk people like myself ... certainly was a big moment of my life to come here as in a pilgrimage. Would have been good if Rob Kreiger and John Densmore were there on the anniversary ....

When I visited I was alone too. Like in the whole cemetary! There was a nice bouquet of blue mums in a basket from his fan club in France. I walked there from my hotel Mercure next to the train station Lyon. A free day on a pilgrimage to France.

    • @patrickmaillard5860

He had "cut" with his family and the cicumstances of his death, made it crucial for his friends to bury him quickly (to avoid more investigations i think)

They have gotten better about getting rid of the spray paint! I was there in the '80s and the area was totally defaced!! Someone even chipped the nose off of a marble bust of Jim that was on his grave.

Bonjour. 🆓🍺
