@shazam1969ish Jim's father was a good man who had the typical values of his generation. The negative aspects of their relationship have been wildly overblown.
The level of detail, care and compassion you provide in this video is what sets you apart from other content creators. I was six years old when Jim died and at the time I had no idea who he was, but I clearly remember friends of my parents playing The Doors when we went to their home.

To actually see the final resting place of Jim Morrison is seriously awesome. Thank you Grimm and Jessica for bringing it to those who will never be able to cast our eyes upon it.
You know, I gotta admit - when "it's mind blowing to walk where Jim lived" was said, I got chills. Thats exactly, what it is. I've been the Doors - fan nearly 40 yrs. Ever since I was 9 yrs old. And first time hearing The End. It was 2009 when I first got to visit Jims grave and place where he used to live when he died. And - the chills. Man. Paris is the city of love yes, but there is something very dark, something very eerie in the city itself. And Jim definetly is a great part of this amongs every other poet and artist who have lived there. Thank you again. ❤✌

Very good video. I’ve been a Doors fan for most of my life (I’m 55) and there are a lot of conspiracy theories surrounding his death. Sad truth is, he is gone and we never got any more of his beautiful poetry and music supplied by the other members of the band. RIP-Lizard King, JDM.
I saw the Doors in the summer of 1966, I'm pretty sure, at a summer music festival in, I think, Woodinville, WA., before they were all that popular. I had no idea that they would eventually become as famous as they were. The next summer, 1967, they had a hit song called 'Light My Fire".
Oh wow, what other bands were at the festival? They played a lot of shows opening for Van Morrison and Them at the Whiskey in Los Angeles, imagine seeing Van the man and the Doors on the same night, wow

Back in 1999 I was 18 and by that point had been a Doors fan for about 10 years. I was also fortunate enough to spend 3 days in Paris and visit so many beautiful sites, including Pere-Lachaise cemetery and Jim's grave. Back then we didn't have internet on our phones, so finding Jim's grave was pretty much a stroke of luck, while only knowing the approximate location of his grave site. So after about 3 hours of wandering around and seeing so many gorgeous thombs, statues and more, we saw a security guard standing by that mausoleum, intending to ask him if we were close to his grave. As one of my then bf's friends greeted the guard, I walked a little bit further on the left path, and there I saw a tree, and so many flowers and writings surrounding a certain grave.. There were no fences, and you could walk up to and around his grave. The security guard that was there, even turned a blind eye to us having a sip of Whiskey whilst saluting Jim.
The Doors a awesome group and Jim Morrison awesome singer so sad he passed away July 31971, When I was 5 the day after my birthday..May Jim Morrison RIP 💐🙏
Ahhhhh Jim Morrison! I had a feeling I’d be seeing this soon and so hoped I would be right!!! Ahhhhh! HOLY HECKENS EXCITED! I just love this cemetery, there’s so many beautiful ones but this one is so beautiful! His death was so sad, I have listened to The Doors a lot, Jim Morrison being part of the 27 club, so so sad… he won’t ever be forgotten, ever! Makes you wonder, if any of the 27 club members, what their music would be like today? I wonder that all the time as I am a singer, (not professionally) but I’ve always wondered if they were still making music how it would sound today, I know they’d be older but I’m curious. And yes… do not touch the bubblegum. That part was interestingly disgusting lol. But great video again besties! So so wild you guys got to visit him! ❤👻🧛🏻♂️🦇🐦⬛🦉💚that would be scary but cool if he showed up in your shots!
Another fascinating video from you guys, simply amazing! I was exposed to The Doors at the early age of 4 back in 1967. My dad used to play the album “Strange Days” quite a bit, and I came to know every song, especially “When The Music’s Over” where that line about hearing “the scream of the butterfly” was written on that tomb comes from. Brilliant song. I subsequently became (and still am) quite the metal head, to my parents’ dismay. “Hey dad, you started it all by exposing me to that ‘druggie music’ at the ripe age of 4, what did you think was gonna happen?” 😂😂
10 years ago right before turning 27, I travelled to Seattle to see Jimi's grave, the house where Kurt was murdered (Yeah, I said it) and then to Paris. Jim's grave was an emotional thing for me. I couldn't tell you why. I arrived early in the morning around dawn, sat up against the tree there and listened to the album "The Doors" It felt like a religious experience to me.
The theories you give on how people moved him from the club to the room makes sense, because I remember hearing somewhere he was found lying in the tub with his head resting on the side with the faucet. Now any normal person when they get into a bath, their feet are down that end…
I’m a die hard doors fan, and only 2 people saw his body, Pam and the medical director. Also they leased his grave, and they were supposed to dig him up to move him to LA in 2000, so everyone wanted to go to actual see if there was a coffin or body, but Paris decided to keep him cause that’s the 3rd biggest tourist attraction.
One of the best crooner singers ever as far as vocal tone to me. .. Timeless quality. Great job on editing and narration grimmlife.. Hope your channel grows exponentially with viewers, funding and new opportunities!
@@timothymeadows8326 ive recently noticed that Billy Idol has a voice that sounds a lot like Jims. Billy is also in the Doors movie and I think he knew Jim way back. Also Ian Astbury of the Cult sounds like Jim and Ian sang with the other Doors members for a couple tours

I was there July 3rd 1993. I was stationed in Germany at the time. Jim’s grave was the first trip I took. Had to see it. When we got to the cemetery there was probably a hundred people outside camping out. I had no idea it was the anniversary of his death. I had brought a liter of Segrams 7 to pour on his grave but the guards would not allow me to bring it in. So I gave it to some dude outside. From what I remember almost every tombstone had some graffiti telling you how to get to Jim’s grave. We had no problem finding it. And when we got his grave it took 45 minutes to get up to it. It was surrounded by people. Back then there was no fence. So I got right up to his grave. People had left poems, cassettes, pictures, cards and there was a candle burning on top of his tombstone. It was probably the coolest thing I had ever experienced at the time. Still have the pictures. Very grateful I made the trip. Great work Grim.
When my son was like 12 years old, we went to the Maryland Deathfest to see only two bands out of the 4 days: 'The Obsessed' and 'Pelican'. So, during the large amount of time we had on our hands, we drove all around taking photos. We came across a very old cemetery that had Rebel Flags in front of the graves of the Confederate Soldiers. He took an amazing color, and then an infrared photo at that graveyard. The infrared has that erieness given the ~30 second exposure.
I love how you find all these details and all the locations. All the Care you put in it really shows. Thank you for taking us along on this journey and showing us where Jim Morrison passed away and where he lived. It was beautifully done
Cemeteries can be surprisingly impressive. There are some in New Orleans - pronounced “No’lens” there - and in Old San Juan that are amazing. The one in PR is right below the fort from memory and that’s a great walk. I don’t exactly know your exact history but I’ve always thought you’d be great at movie editing. Your shots and final videos are always impressive. In particular that opening is really good.
That was yet another amazing video! I really enjoy your European Tour! That cemetery os incredible! I have been to Paris twice and saw Jim Morrison‘s grave but didn’t go to his former residence. Thank you so much for sharing that with us 🤗🤗
Great Video. I have visited his grave in the 90's when I was stationed in Germany. Me and a bunch of Army buddies went to Paris for the weekend. We took a weekend tour. Jim's grave was not part of the tour. So we broke from the tour and went to the cemetery and visited Jim. We did shots of Jack Daniels with Jim, and met back up with our tour Guide. The whole tour was jealous . Great stuff. There was something a little weird . There was a guy that showed up at the grave and started cleaning it up. He said he was part of a Jim Morrison /Doors fan club. He said he had been taking care of his grave for years. And he claimed to be at the Funeral. Anyway, no clue if any of that is credible. But it was great to visit Jim , and to take a shot with him. Great video.
Visited the Graveyard a long time ago , following seeing 'Bon Jovi' perform live in Paris. Such a shame that Jim Morrison's Grave has now been sectioned off to fans, and those who did, and still continue to appreciate his Talent. Shame on those who dessicate anybody's final resting place. RIP Jim. X
This is truly amazing. I remember my step dad would play the doors alot when I was younger. Very cool honoring the lead singer of the band. Very cool cemetery too
Thank you for this wonderful video. You guys are the best! I grew up listening to the Doors because my dad was a huge fan and he still is. Although he's 74 now, his room still resounds with Morrison's voice since he plays it so loud.. Seeing his grave and the location where he lived and died made me so sad and reminded me how short and unpredictable life is for all of us.. I can't wait to visit this amazing cemetery and his grave myself!
Great video. Sad that you can’t go near the grave. Many years ago I went to Paris to visit him, and many famous at the cemetery , I remembered the script behind his grave “the end” like his song. Amazing. Pretty wild. 👏🏼 Marry Christmas and happy holidays guys! You must come here in Italy , the cemeteries here are very amazing, Venice , Genova, Roma, Firenze, Torino...
Can't say it enough, you go out of your way to make these videos outstanding. Morrison was one of many gone too soon. I have tons of the Doors CDs.🖤
Poet!❤
Awesomeness!!
Fantastically Awesomeness! 👊✊😊😆🍁
Excellent Episodes! 👍
RIP Jim Morrison 😔
10 years ago right before turning 27, I travelled to Seattle to see Jimi's grave, the house where Kurt was murdered (Yeah, I said it) and then to Paris. Jim's grave was an emotional thing for me. I couldn't tell you why. I arrived early in the morning around dawn, sat up against the tree there and listened to the album "The Doors" It felt like a religious experience to me.
Great video, I went to his grave and was lucky enough to go straight there as the cemetery opened and had 30 minutes alone there
Felt Jim’s vibe throughout the video! Nice work guys I loved seeing his window.
Loved the Doors ❤ thanks for sharing,
RIP JDM ❤✌🏻
Yes Grim, he died through those blue doors. Good doc on TH-cam about it ... Awesome job 🤘🏼Happy Halloween 🎈
The theories you give on how people moved him from the club to the room makes sense, because I remember hearing somewhere he was found lying in the tub with his head resting on the side with the faucet. Now any normal person when they get into a bath, their feet are down that end…
What a Christmas treat! Interview Jim's brother Andy and maybe his sister Anne.
Merry Christmas my ghouls☃️🎄☃️
Was so hoping you would cover Jim Morrison. Thank you🎃
One of the best crooner singers ever as far as vocal tone to me. .. Timeless quality. Great job on editing and narration grimmlife.. Hope your channel grows exponentially with viewers, funding and new opportunities!
Yea Jim was actually a huge Frank Sinatra fan and Elvis bass player Jerry Scheff played on LA woman album
@@vicvega3614 Glenn Danzig was a good one too ..inspired in part by those greats 😁
Jim had a Baritone vocal, which I think is the most natural and interesting ❤️
@@timothymeadows8326 ive recently noticed that Billy Idol has a voice that sounds a lot like Jims. Billy is also in the Doors movie and I think he knew Jim way back. Also Ian Astbury of the Cult sounds like Jim and Ian sang with the other Doors members for a couple tours
@@vicvega3614 Yeah... Billy Idol has a great Morrison-esq voice :)
Merry Christmas grimmlifecollective 🎅🏻🎄⛄ and as always Happy Halloween 👻🤘🏻🎃
You guys have completely filled .my Christmas stocking. ❤ Thank you for coming back and doing a part 2. I can now listen to a Crawling king snake to a higher level. Happy Halloween.
This was the best video ever done on Jim Morrison! Awesome job!
Thank you for the kind words. Happy you dig the videoz
another great video! I loved the one where you visited the house where he lived in LA and enjoyed this one also very much!
Merry Christmas, Grimlife and Grim Family. Sending love and happiness your way.
Great video. FYI, I believe the translation on the tombstone is “True to his own spirit”
RIP Jim. X
9:15 People do the craziest things..There used to be a bust of Jim on top of his grave, which got stolen....etc.etc.etc.
This is why I started following you! I think it was the love street episode! Jim Morrison is my favorite ❤❤❤thank you so much for making this ❤❤❤❤
Watching this and playing the Doors music on original vinyl through out in the background makes this video just friggen awesome
Mike and Jessica you rock 🤟🏾🤘🏾 ur work and videos are amazing! So glad you both are able to visit the world 🌍 can’t wait to see where you go next
Good Christmas Mr and Mrs Grimm. I'm so happy you chose this one. I love Jim. I hope you are having a great day. We love you❤
I've always been slightly obsessed with his story music and poetry and where he's buried. Thank you.
i had a teacher back in 2009. he showed me a picture of Jim Morrison and his friends. he personally told me that Jim chocked on his own vomit.
It's hard to see a Legend not have a better burial site. What were they thinking? People are Strange for sure.
Great video.
Sad that you can’t go near the grave.
Many years ago I went to Paris to visit him, and many famous at the cemetery , I remembered the script behind his grave “the end” like his song. Amazing. Pretty wild.
👏🏼
Marry Christmas and happy holidays guys! You must come here in Italy , the cemeteries here are very amazing, Venice , Genova, Roma, Firenze, Torino...
Peter hook from Joy Division, come to visit many times a famous family grave, that is the cover of Closer, Joy Division album.
As a lifelong The Doors fan this is a very merry Christmas curled up in bed about to watch this. 🦎
