- Here's the list of contestants who lost £93,000 in the UK Version.
*Jim Titmuss
*John Brandon
*Shelia McHale
*Robert Brydges & Judith Chalmers
*Ken Owen
*Jerry Walder
*Russell Grant & Shelia Ferguson
*Oli Blake (6th January 2019)
*Sarah Knapper (25th August 2019)
Notice the coincidence that Jim Titmuss and Duncan Bickley who both broke the record of the highest of amount of money ever lost, used 50:50, eliminating A and C, both incorrectly answering B, and the correct answer was D.
Interesting Facts
John Brandon was a contestant before cheater Charles
Ingram’s brother-in-law Adrian Pollock.
What I’ve never understood is why would you go for it if you don’t know the answer and risk losing £93,000?
It’s a gamblers mentality. Sometimes you’ll guess right. Just not always.
Greedy people
If everyone used that mentality, we'd have hardly had any winners. No guts no glory, as they say. That being said, if you have no idea and it's purely a random guess, you shouldn't do it. But when you have a strong gut feeling or are reasonably sure, it's a different story. That's how most people who won the million got through some of the questions.
3:46 This question is extra evil because A: silicon is actually more abundant than aluminium, but it's wrong because silicon is not METAL
That's arguably a trick question.
I would have won with this question
2:34, a Charles Ingram happened and that's why he went for it
😂😂😂😂😂😂
except in this case it was the wrong answer lol
it does vaguely seem like Chris was somewhat egging him on to go for it, since he was determined to take the money as he wasn't confident in his answer
If I was stuck on the 250000 question I’d walk away
yeah especially if it was on a celebrity edition, losing £93,000 for charity? i would be so ashamed if that happened.
@anthonybradley1555 John Brandon which is the second person Should've stuck what he said in the first place not gamble
Same
I wonder if Chris gets told to talk them out of taking the money 🤔 he often talks people out of their initial decision
He definitely talked the 2nd bloke out of taking the money.
Eh? He's literally doing the opposite with the second contestant. 'But you were going to walk away'.
You can see whats on Chris' monitor in the bottom right hand corner. The little square on the screen you see there turns green if the final answer is correct., it turns red if the final answer given is wrong. There is also a message on there saying they're going to commercial.
I like how you can see the square go red on Chris' host screen to indicate a wrong answer at 14:13.
I cant see it
Before Square goes green
We are delighted to announce that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is marking it's 25th anniversary in 2023, the programme first started on 4th September 1998. The silver jubilee of the global TV phenomenon. Chris Tarrant is the main man of the show.
Chris Tarrant Is Perfect As Buzz Lightyear From Toy Story 2 (1999)
great @@mikeymcfadden6889
It should be said that Robert Brydges & Judith Chalmers neglected to Ask the Audience.
Greed is a powerful motivator
So is debussey
Exactly
Greedy people
Great attitude on the guy who picked 'John Mills' instead of the right answer John Gielgud. Good luck mate.👍
12:51 I actually saw that a few days ago.
The greed of people going for it and not being sure of the answer.
3:31
*CHRIS TARRANT: You just lost 93 thousand pounds!* 😱😔
*CONAN EDOGAWA: OH NO! 😭*
As a Greek I laughed with the final question 😅
I knew two of the questions: John Brandon's volleyball question (baseball has nine on a standard team instead of ten) and Ken Owen's First Lady question (without giving the answer away, I knew it because the aforementioned President gave the same name to one of his sons). Interestingly, something I didn't know: Kermit is Manx in origin.
John's question was incredibly easy 😢
13:09 Jerry Walder: Oh Well
10:40 Chris Tarrant: Ken Baby
(14:13) You can even see the little box on Chris Tarrant's monitor turn red indicating an incorrect answer.
I feel bad for Ken, simply because of how saddned Tony looks at 10:38
If he first thought Hades why the hell would he go for gateway to the underworld?
Hades is another name for the Underworld. That’s what he thought the Hesperides guarded.
@@jordanblair4077 hades is the ruler of the underground
@@Ryan_Gaffney Yes but Hades is also the name for the underworld. They’re used interchangeably.
Felt really sorry for the guy who said more than once he wasn't going to gamble but CT didn't really encourage him to stop but just kept building more tension that of course is part of his role.
That first guy clearly had no thoughts for his wife or her feelings just sheer greed for more took over. I really felt bad for her especially as she was clearly upset.
1:06, 3:31, 5:00, 7:39, 10:31, 12:52, 14:24 - You just LOST £93,000
i would have lost £93,000 on the earth's crust question, i also thought it was iron.
It's a very hard question because silicon is more abundant than Aluminium, but silicon is not a metal.
It’s a trap.
Same
I knew that one
I would have won. So easy.
Is that the same dude that WON the big one
Yes Robert Brydges was the 3rd winner
5:00
*CHRIS TARRANT: You just lost 93 thousand pounds!*
*NATE ADAMS: YOU FAILED ON LEVEL 3! OH NO! 😲*
10 contestants losing £93,000 on WWTBAM..... am I right?
7:37
*CHRIS TARRANT: YOU JUST LOST NINETY-THREE THOUSAND, OH JUDE, ROBERT!*
*RYAN CHAR: OH NO! 😱 YOU TWO FAILED ON LEVEL THREE!*
7:47
*CHRIS TARRANT: The right answer was ONTARIO! 😱*
*RYAN CHAR: WHAT A SHOCKING FAILURE ON LEVEL THREE!*
5:00 - "you just lost £93,000" Yeah, the answer was aluminium
32,000 POUNDS IS A LOT OF MONEY
Yeah.
125,000 pounds is even more money.
Russell Grant proving he can't predict the future xD
On a brighter note my grandad won £10 on a horse last week! Every cloud eh..
OMG, I knew the last one. :D
Feel the worst for the 2nd guy ..he was just about to keep the money 😂
In the last 2 person it was C:Tree with golden apples
I knew every single question except the knighted actor one.
I feel bad for the guy who lost with the baseball answer because first, he was going to walk away until Chris talked him into playing, and second, as an American, I knew he was screwed the moment he said he was leaning towards baseball. At least he took it in stride, and 32,000 isn’t bad, it’s more than you came in with.
Chris did no such thing. Don't blame it on Chris. He actually said "but you were going to walk away" when the contestant said he was going to play. If anything Chris was trying to encourage him to just keep the money.
1:06 3:31 5:00 7:39 10:31 12:52 14:24
Notice on the first clip when he uses the 50 - 50, Tarrant asks him which ones doesn't he want, so the computer can manipulate the answers.
Wrong ones
In the third one I would have said A) Silicon 😅, but Silicon is not a metal, but a semi-metal 😅😂
The person with i think is judith Chalmers, is he not a previous millionaire winner?
Yes, the celeb charity specials on WWTBAM UK at one point had a system where the celeb was paired with a previous civilian winner.
I'm going to pronounce "aluminum" like that from now on.
The 2 celebrities had no right to gamble and lose £93,000 of these charities money just because they had a " hunch I have the same leaning BUT NO KNOWLEDGE!! "if they weren't both absolutely sure they should have quit 😢
Why is robert brydges back?
He, Judith Keppel, and David Edwards appeared with celebrity respectively on the 5th anniversary of the show called Millionaires' Return for charity on 6th & 9th September 2003.
@@GameShowsGS how far did david and judith get?
@@Millacks You can watch it on TH-cam if you want to be surprised or do you want me to tell you now?
Who would know the first lady middle name question? If I had to guess I would've been torn between A and B. I'm American and I don't even know Melania's middle name or if she has one.
I knew that Theodore Roosevelt had a son called Kermit so I would've went for B, not sure if I would've risked it on the show but
Let’s be real, Chris influenced the 2nd contestant because he was about to walk away until he said what he said @2:00….why did he just say “final answer?”
Why did you cut the clips short, before "you still go away with £32,000" is said...?
I preferred it that way.
It's almost like Magic Moments & More.
@your mum piss of mate
It's his video p, he can d what he likes.
@@GameShowsGS fair enough, thanks for the reply :)
The earth's crust question I knew the answer
Me too
@@xana5649 Hi there did you ever watch this programme
2014 ARCADE
Very unlucky indeed!
3:46 is easy
i had a gut felling it was Edith
but would not have gambled it and risked losing 93,000 pounds i do not give Money to charities if i did i would gamble it as if i was wrong at least the money i lost would not have been for me but for my self would leave with the 125 thousand pounds and would Demand that Chris did not tell me as my gut felling for the Edith was quite strong
2018
10:33
and i knew the greek one
Try better to feel confident GTTU to grin at the host.
1:08

Greedy sods just take the money

*RYDER: IT IS NOT, CARLISLE!!! OH MY GOD!!!*
*RYDER ZACHARY: ☠️ (WRONG!)*
What is lost 93 thousand dollars?
What?
Russell and Sheila clearly couldn't give a flying Flip if they got it wrong. ..clearly 🫣 Russell " oh well just one of those things " say that to the charity who you've just flippantly cost £93k meanwhile Sheila offers up " I didn't know that" hang on love you were both saying you knew it now you've got a case of amnesia 😉
