I put an SSD in my PS3 slim, it is absolutely silent and ridiculously fast (RAGE runs at 60fps with NO texture pop in!). The menu system is instantaneous and media files open just as quickly. I actually prefer it's user interface by far. I used my PS3 to rip all of my CD's, archive all of my photos and movies from my digital camera, and handle all of my media management on external storage devices (including my phone). It even reads my networked storage drives. As much as the extra power is nice in the newer consoles, my overall experience using them is nowhere near as good as I had with my PS3, it truly felt like next generation device. In fact, it still does. SIDE NOTE: I like to think they added the printer support because of me, lol. I worked for Sony at the time and requested it at a seminar when I met a couple of members of their North American Playstation team, they really liked the idea, but I imagine it was probably already in the works. Still, maybe?
As someone who owns the original fully backwards compatible PS3, I had no doubt it would have the ability to connect (I also knew if there would be any issue it would be the PS button functionality). I know you're down playing it for your audience, but anyone who owned a PS3, especially those original models with access to the entire PlayStation library up to that point, would know just how far ahead those machines were. I mean the military didn't make their super computer out of PS3's for nothing.

I don't see any reason why Sony would want the PS5 controller to work with the PS4. It's not really surprising that the PS4 isn't forward compatible. Having had a PS5 since launch day, going back to the PS4 controller feels as weird as the PS2 or PS1 controller. The old controllers just feel so cheap. Love them all though, and this video taught me nothing but was weirdly entertaining. Good job..
I don’t know if you know this but, the reason the Dualsense doesn’t work via Bluetooth on ps4 is because it can’t operate the home screen, you use the dualshock 4 to operate the home screen but you can use the Dualsense to play a game. That’s really it. You should try it. It works.

ps3 u can use a ps5 controller and use any bluetooth headset earbuds or headset but ps4 u can't u have to use a Sony headset or get a dingle to use its strange

@6:42 2006. - was supposed to come out in 2005, but delayed due to CELL processor shortages, IIRC. What I really want to know is, does the diagonals on the d-pad work this time around. FYI, if you use a PS4 controller via Bluetooth on PS3, the PS3 wont register diagonal inputs so all the fighting games, or anything that requires that motion is instantly unplayable. The only fix it to use a USB cable. It would be nice to know if you can use full range of motion on the pad while it's paired via Bluetooth. I'd imagine it's still an issue, but playing via a cable reduces the button lag anyway. the USB cables for the PS4 are prone to breaking, but I don't think USB-C has that issue. Still, though. It would be nice to know if the directional pad for the dual sense was fully functional on PS3 while in Bluetooth mode.
The only reason I'd consider the DS Edge if it had compatibility with the PS4, but typical of Sony, they made sure to stop that from happening. The funny thing is that there are many pro controllers around that still have compatibility with the PS4.
My MSI GC30 works with the included wireless dongle. Pretty much any standard PC HID class controller/adaptor will work with the PS3. Even an Xbox One controller works via USB!

You can use the ps5 controller for the ps4. It's possible to use it wireless without a cord. They just have it disabled for the ps4 since they want ppl to buy the ps5
*The fact that Sony sells this controller separately from the console* previous console gens casually buying new consoles to get a new controller since they aren't sold separately.
