The mix up with names is no biggie when you consider that Pegasus Device tells the story of the rainbow factory better than Rainbow Factory did lol. The source material was obviously respected and it clearly takes inspiration from both songs, as well as the original story. Plus the addition of the very much believable theory that Celestia knows what goes on but turns a blind eye was a nice touch.
I think I'm calling this the best Rainbow Factory animation ever produced so far. We had lots of really close to the show animatics, SFMs with detailed render, but in the end the plot and proper display of lore were the main criteria for me as a diehard RF fan. And to say this is EXACTLY the animation I dreamed of when listening to those songs is to say nothing. A bit of wackiness of animation is even on hand here, because the movement, the emotions of characters are simply top notch. Just.. thank you so much for what you've created. The Flock owes you :)

The "Rainbow Act" part also implied that despise that she let them continue exist but probably with a 'reform' in the methods to get the color out the pony, that or it was a 'peek into the future' after Awoken if we take that song as a continuation of this one (bc at the end we see a reference to that at the end)
In the Rainbow Factory fanfic, we learn that the factory has existed as a side effect of her no longer creating rainbows, since she needed to focus on the war with Nightmare Moon. The pegasi took up the task of making rainbows, because it's needed (for some reason). Also, the standardized test that all pegasi must pass is presumably a state ran test. So Celestia _very likely_ knows about what happens in the factory. That, or the pegasi in charge of the 1000 year old conspiracy are _very_ good at covering it up.
This is incredibly well done how you managed to pack so much in there, especially being done by only a single person. I think it's the best Rainbow Factory animation I've ever seen period. It's great to see Rainbow Dash's fall from grace take place in full, as well as seeing other factory members like Dr. Atmosphere. Towards the end there's a few too many reused shots, but considering you did all this yourself, it's a small thing that hardly detracts from the excellent work shown off here. Well done work, I kind of wish that Pegasus Device (the sequel story) got its own animation this good.

I was always confused by one thing in the story itself - Why do ponies need rainbows so badly that they have to make a factory and kill ponies there? Like.. Rainbows are nice and all, but they are not needed, they serve no purpose other than entertain the eye, they are not neccessary for ponies to have.
I think that the Rainbow Factory is mostly just an excuse for the pegasi to kill off the members of their species seen as "weak" and "unworthy." I guess that it's easier to kill when they justify it to themselves?
I know nothing about the lore so I made my own Rainbow dash was a product Of the “rainbow juice” she was a test they aren’t just making rainbows for the sake of it, it’s a front for what they truly after their experimenting on dash to eventually create super Pegasus that can rain boom like dash and examining the mental effects as well as the costs of maintaining a super Pegasus since dash was seen with a graying tail like a super drug eventually they’ll try to make batches of super Pegasus and try to tie the sudden babies rainbow Pegasus with rainbows like they were exposed to them when they were developing in the mares Maybe they’ll try to test it on a princess or other species as a trump card there’s a lot of dangerous stuff in mlp there’s straight up a pollen that infects ponies which would turn them into trees that Forrest with the faces is hinted to be ponies that contracted the disease and in the early days ponies were in war with each other it’s said it was bad so bad that simple kindness was nonsense so if there’s stuff like that then this would be reasonable rather than nonsense I mean the “royal guards” seem pretty useless so if they were able to rain boom and all the chances of survival and progress would “skyrocket”
Also they may try to make super unicorns just to see if it’s possible hell might as well see if they can have a super fast Pegasus, a unicorn that’s practically a nuke, a intensely strong earth pony that’s sturdy enough to blunt spears Aaaand that’s everyone the prime candidates is the holders of the elements of harmony if all of them are super than they wouldn’t have “close calls” or against a wall because THEY’LL BE THAT WALL and if they all start to get rainbow hair they’ll say “it’s the product of being the holders of the elements of harmony that if their friendship is close enough it’ll show itself as the elements colour” Did I just make an Au???? The amount of story packed into this truly amazes me, telling the infamous tale of the Rainbow Factory through both music and animation. Seeing wonderful passion fueled projects like this one still being created even long after Gen 4 ended is always an incredible sight...
Argh! I love everything about this! The brief flashbacks involving Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo's past, the moments and little details that hint at the toll on Rainbow once she started working at the Rainbow Factory (such as her monochrome tail), the exaggerated expressions, and the animation itself! Plus that awesome song just adds the cherry on top this lovely cake. Amazingly done, I'm very happy to see MLP FiM content still being made.

the animation is really janky and rough around the edges but honestly I goddamn love that!!! Here, it adds so much! This has soooo much personality, I love the strong contrasts and colors and expressions, the complex posing, storyboarding and composition is all honestly insane, and all by one person too. My favorite has got to be Rainbow Dash near the end with her exaggerated faces and motions, like when she stomps the ground, arghhhh This is so much fun to watch and so inspiring, especially seeing the software you used - it's not anything industry standard, though procreate is an advanced art program, it's all pretty easily accessible. Goes to show that you don't need high tech software to create something amazing.

This is an incredible story that really chills you to the bone like seriously I thought this would be a random mlp animation with dark themes I was absolutely not expecting there to be Pegasus fascism other then that really well executed cool story and vary scary stuff 10/10 would recommend lol

Damn, absolutely amazing. Not only does it encapsulate the song very well, but also had an entire recap of the Rainbow Factory story and the beginning of Awoken. One thing I noticed though, that there were apparently no signs of the Pegasus Device story itself, which was basically an alternate universe continuation for the original story.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen anything posted about the Rainbow factory/ Pegasus device. These songs and the story is what got me interested in the fandom ngl lol.

I've been listening to pegasus device alot lately (the original, the jyc row version and this version). so i was surprised to see this recommended while listening to her RD cover just now. Really well done. I loved how you were able to do some really dynamic styles and editing in this style. Also interesting, I never read the original fic, but I did see (and loved) the rainbow dash presents version of the story and I was amazed how much I was able to follow along with the story. lol keep up the great work.

the animation is really janky and rough around the edges but honestly I goddamn love that!!! Here, it adds so much! This has soooo much personality, I love the strong contrasts and colors and expressions, the complex posing, storyboarding and composition is all honestly insane, and all by one person too. My favorite has got to be Rainbow Dash near the end with her exaggerated faces and motions, like when she stomps the ground, arghhhh
This is so much fun to watch and so inspiring, especially seeing the software you used - it's not anything industry standard, though procreate is an advanced art program, it's all pretty easily accessible. Goes to show that you don't need high tech software to create something amazing.

Damn, absolutely amazing. Not only does it encapsulate the song very well, but also had an entire recap of the Rainbow Factory story and the beginning of Awoken.
One thing I noticed though, that there were apparently no signs of the Pegasus Device story itself, which was basically an alternate universe continuation for the original story.
I aways loved this animations of RainbowFactory. I Wish to see more of it! Keep the great job

I've been listening to pegasus device alot lately (the original, the jyc row version and this version). so i was surprised to see this recommended while listening to her RD cover just now. Really well done. I loved how you were able to do some really dynamic styles and editing in this style.
Also interesting, I never read the original fic, but I did see (and loved) the rainbow dash presents version of the story and I was amazed how much I was able to follow along with the story. lol
