Got 40+ mini tubs going now. Will be adding more as well. Not counting fry tubs or indoor tanks.
    All guppys and plecos.
Over 30 different lines of guppys, 4 mutt ponds, and 6 wholesale ponds...
May even toss out some pools for wholesale lines as well...

Hey Michael. I've been watching your channel now for about a year and I love it. It's full of common sense and excellent ideas. After several months I'm usually bored with most aquarium channels, but not yours. It's all the common sense and your great sense of humor. BTW I've been keeping guppy ponds for profit for 20 years now.. We live in Nebraska and had some unique issues with them last year since we live in the flood zone.

My first year for summer tubing. Going with the Dumbo Purple Mosaics in one tube and Green Cobra in the other tub. Both are 100 Gallon tubs from Tractor Supply. No fry yet but they have only been out there for a week so far. Love to sit out there and watch the tubs, summer fun!

Could buy plastic chicken wire (the one I looked up has 1/2" mesh). Should keep the dragonflies but allow other bugs in.
The sun itself will also dechlorinate the water (learned this from owning a pool). Without the right chemicals in the pool the sun will cause the chlorine to be used up faster.

I’ll have to check temperature at the bottom. Daytime water temp in the pond has been 86 everyday for the past five days. Morning water temps (6:00am) have been ranging between 77 & 79. Last night air temp dipped a little so the water temp this morning was 75.

Glad I got that heater in mine. Got down to 41° last night. Last year was the first time I did pond guppies. Originally made the pond for shubunkin goldfish but all they did was hide in the bottom. Took them out and sold them. For S&Gs, my wife suggested I put some guppies in it. These were a bunch that I was going to give to my daughter to feed her turtles. They weren't producing any fry and I was getting tired of them wasting tank space. So, what the hey. Anyways, they had some really cool fry, some snake skins! This year I'm crossing the females with the offspring of the dumbo mosaic I bought from you last year. Should be 'interesting.' Anyway, I didn't cover them last year and haven't covered them this year... yet. Haven't seen any dragon flies but I'm watching! I'll let you know what comes out.

FYI: We used Dragon fly 'nymph' as bait for over 40 years, fishing for pan-fish in lakes & streams. We call them "Mud-bugs', since they bury themselves in shallow pond mud, or just hang around on grasses in the water. IMO, it's about the best bait for fishing said species' of fish. Thank you for the information on the Guppy interactions though.

If your water has chloromide as opposed to chlorine(some use both I've heard) the chlorine will evaporate, but the chloromide chemically bonds. My guess if you live in a major metro area your city uses chloromide, hence why some of us have to use dechlorinators(apparently not even a word?) regardless. Just a heads up.
