    Advantages of beet juice in tractor tires:
    1. provides balast for lifting and driving through snow.
    2. has a lower freezing temperature than CaCl.
    3. will not corrode rims (as much).
    4. keeps beet farmers in business.
    5. emergency rations for preppers (tastes a bit like vulcanized rubber...)

    The loader lift capacity on that tractor is closer to 3000 lbs, especially if you move the lift cylinders down to the power position which works best with forks or a grapple.

    The liquid fill on the tires adds weight to the back end, improving stability. It's not calcium, but calcium chloride that's the most popular fill liquid. One advantage of beet juice compared to calcium chloride is it's non-toxic and will not corrode your wheel parts.

    • @johnsadler8637
      @johnsadler8637 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Is correct that it adds weight, which improves stability and traction. I don’t know which rear tires you have but an online source says it adds 6-700 lbs/tire.

    I have a 8540 with loader. Your lift hydraulic cylinder rear pins are in the higher lift height position. I have been told if you put the pins in the lower holes it will lift more weight but not reach as high. Hope this helps.

    My brother had a Kubota 34 horsepower tractor, somewhat smaller than yours, and it was in a barn When the Northern California fires blew through the area about 3 years ago. The tractor, with the grand total of 43 hours on it, was a total loss. It was insured, but to see a brand new piece of nice gear melted and the hoses all burnt out was pretty grim.

  • @gordbaker896
    @gordbaker896 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I suggest you move the cylinder pins to the lower hole. Greater mechanical advantage.
    Beet juice does not corrode the Steel Wheels like Calcium Chloride does. Wheels are usually filled to top of the rim.

    Thanks for the tour of the 7040. And it has the 3-point hydraulics at the back which I see you've fitted the tow hitch adaptor for pulling the trailer. 3:08 suggests a manual transmission which means you drive it like you do a "stick shift" car.

    FYI, on kubota loaders the numbers are the capacity in half metric tons. So, for example, I think your loader is an 1158. Times that by 2.2 and that gives you its rated capacity in lb’s. So your 1158 loader is rated for 2548 lb.

    As someone who used a Kubota M6040 for years on a horse farm, I can attest that they do come smaller than your 7040. See if your supplier has or can hook you up with a rough terrain fork lift. Kind of like a backwards tractor with forks run off of the three point hitch. Major lifting power. Again, just FYI.
