❤ I love watching grandpa he’s a man of many trades. He’s a master of cooking barbecue I think anyway he’s very knowledgeable. Keep up the good work, grandpa
Grampa has become a culinary cooking treasure in the land. Known for his culinarys skills on an open fire and for fine cooking. He could easily run a dinner for patrons coming from far and wide just to sample open flame cooking.
As a young 65 year old hunter for bear, moose, deer and elk, I gotta tell ya - Gramps is spot on! Love this guy! Love this whole family! Keep it going!
A hickory smoked sirloin steak on the grill is the best! It takes time and patience to prepare a fire-cooked meal, but the end result is definitely worth the time and effort. You don't get that flavor from an oven or microwave.
In hot weather the fire does not looks as attractive as in winter, but the result is worth it, I think, especially if it was so made before burning🙂. (Hi from Belarus. Harry Davidson).
Congratulations! I didn't have grandparents because they died when I was a little baby, please continue to value and enjoy all the moments with your grandfather.
Grandpa is making fantastic food with the open fire, I love it! I can see in time maybe 2nd channel "Cooking with Grandpa on Lumber Capital Log Yard"!!
I love how you do everything as a family. I'm a long-haul trucker, so I spend more time away from my family than I spend with them. Cherish the time. It doesn't last.
Good morning, oh yes, the only way to cook. Everything looks delicious. Yum... I have lots of pecan trees so no shortage of wood to cook with. I use paper and the small dry limbs that fall off the pecan trees to start the fire. Then a few green pieces to smoke the meat and whatever else we cook. Pop some popcorn and the smoke gives it a wonderful flavor. I don't like to use gasoline, its too sneaky, the flammable vapor goes everywhere. Thanks for the great video to start the day with. 🙂
gasoline is dangerous, the vapors are just too easy to ignite. Plus you never know what additives they put in the gasoline. Benzine is a carcinogen. if you're camping, hand sanitizer and cotton balls,or vaseline and cotton balls, are good firestarters. Pine cones, too, and they're free.
Nothing says Hickory Smoked Shish Key Bob like Summer. Eh! Having Hawaaian Punch & Vernor's in a punch bowel loaded with store bought ice. Yep that's America. ben/ michigan
GP, great job as usual. I agree, cooking in the traditional way is fantastic. Yep, it does require far more effort and attention to the task but the taste is well worth the trouble. Plus, as you stated, it is fun! Thank you LCLY for sharing a little family tradition and fellowship with the followers. I believe a cup of that delicious coffee from your website store would go mighty nice with your kabobs? This is Rex from Charlotte signing off…
I had a cool grandpa. He made wine. Cheese. Prosciutto. Taught me how to fish. LCLY's grandpa is just as cool. What an exemplary family. Folks, this what we must cherish and protect. The family. Remember that in November.
As a Kid growing up in the 70's that is how we cooked outdoors, with a fire. Dad a a fireplace outside in the yard. Wood was free and Charcoal cost money! Besides steak tastes better cooked over a wood fire. Cheers.
LOL some people especially the young Gen don’t Realize how fires were started on the grill in the 50,60, and 70s. And there is nothing wrong with lighter fluid or Gas, my dad knew How to be safe with it.
I find the starter fluid leaves a taste that translates to the meat you cook. I use kindling to get started and add my wood slowly to build a fire as I would in a fireplace but no fluids.
I just grilled beef kabobs a week or so ago. I like the combination of flavors that kabobs provide by cooking everything together. Great looking cook guys.
That looks good. Been a Grill master for years with Brisket. I won I don't know how many Contests with my smoker my Dad Had Built before he retired at Houston Lighting & Power Company he was VP there. I have had it since 1985. Everyone loves it when I Crank it up. I only use Hickory. Good video thanks.
Looks delicious ! GrandPa, a tip with your smoking hickory stick... try making a bundle of chips or small pieces wrapped up in an aluminum foil pouch with some tiny toothpick size holes in top.. it will allow only a small amount of air to get inside creating a steady source of smoke without the more bitter tasting flames.
Basically it comes down to this . . . use the tools you have at your disposal. If you are in a survival situation, with minimal tools, get the job done. If you're blessed with additional tools to get the job done easier? What are you complaining about? Get the job done, period.
Recently discovered the amazing taste of grilling over real hickory wood, even when using charcoal, I'll put 2 or 3 small pieces of hickory on top. Taste like nothing else.
Spend every minute you have with your Grandpa.
...we only have them a short time❤

What a wonderful family you have and a way of life,if only things were like that over here in the UK
Food looks delicious
Great video! Thanks for sharing grandpop with us. Family is what ties it all together ❤️
What a nice family. Now I got to eat something, my stomach is really growling.
We use pine stump pieces to start our wood fires. Some call it pitch pine, fat wood, pine knot.
Congratulations! I didn't have grandparents because they died when I was a little baby, please continue to value and enjoy all the moments with your grandfather.
Emerald, listen to every word this man has to say. He is sharp as a tack
Red the feminine attire suits you 😂👍✌️potatoes and steak with salt and pepper was my father's fav 👍
I do mine every time with starter fluid
Those kebabs on the grill had me salivating.

My son gave me a tee shirt with Taz on it with an apron, chefs cap, and spatula with caption I am barbeque man.
Keep using the Boy Scout juice Grandpa...its long burnt off by the time you get coals.
You have a lot of nice potted plants. I like that one that hangs from the tripod with a picture frame. Very creative!
My mouth is watering watching this video. Great job Grandpa.
wow these girls preparing the meal are beautiful Grandpa is as red as a pepper in front of this fire😂
Nice technique grandpa. I like that you charcoal your wood rather than use just charcoal. The flavor from the wood really comes thru.
I love to see the whole family enjoying the great cooking that grampa is doing. A delicious looking meal and my mouth is watering. 👍❤️
Nice video production. Well shot and well edited. As an editor I see the work put into this.
Carry fatwood when you're camping! Can't beat it for catching a spark from a ferrorod.
I wouldn't mind following him around. My grampa's are both gone. I like outdoor cooking so I'm gathering ideas and tips.
☕morning coffee and a LCLY video, best way to start the day ☕

You never know how much you miss grandpa until he's gone.
GP is Iron Chef Grill!
Great to see someone who knows how to do things and why to do it that way.
The way you people eat is a testament to the good physical shape everyone is in.
I really enjoy your grilling videos!!

“Grilling Season” is every day that ends with the letter “y” for some folks
I used some of the techniques Grandpa showed. Can you ask Grandpa to show us more? I'm sure he's a wealth of knowledge!

tell me you grew up poor without telling me you grew up poor ("Wood was free" aka stealing LOL)
@@Hansgame Nope... came off property and Dad was thrifty. 😁
Now I am hungry, just in time for breakfast!!!
I watched you cook while I was buying tires... I've bought cars for as much as I paid for these tires
LOL some people especially the young Gen don’t

Great share thank you all ,
Do a cookout with some of the homemade Charcoal that you make in the barrel. Charred Wood Cookout .
Bet that would be a new way of cooking for Many
Next time I watch one of these videos, I'm gonna make sure I'm not hungry 🙂. Expertly done; the grandpa has it well sussed.
When they're not milling they're shish kabob ing!!! Lol
I think of long-grain rice rather than potatoes when making a meal of kabobs.
Corn on the cob anybody? Grilled in the husks. 🌽
Best to just ignore the critics.
Grandpa reminds me. Of chuck wagon cook. On the open prairie. For cowboys
Man that makes you mouth water. if you said shish kebabs, in the middle of winter time, it still sounds like Summer👍
So beautiful dresses you gals are wearing looked delicious the food 😍😘

"If you're a microwave cooker" 🤣🤣 grandpa got some one liners, exercising patience while cooking is always rewarding
🤣I like that line also !!! 🤣
Awesome!
I love that grill and that food looks so amazing. Send me a plate lol.
