Hi Liziqi, I live with my grandmother who has Alzheimer's, and she has the television as her main source of entertainment and comfort, so we have to keep looking for good content to show to her, because she gets upset easily with the contents that are shown in broadcast channels, like news and movies in general, mainly because of the tragedies and statistics of Covid. And I'd like to thank you, because your content, with all your arts, cookery and farming, is one the few that really put her in a harmonious state, she becomes uplifted, and because of the Alzheimer's she even tells us that have known you for quite some time and you have always been a hard worker \o/. Your content changes our routine with her for the better!

So I read an article about her, her parents divorced when she was very young, then she went to live with her grandparents in the rural area. When she grow up, she tried various job at the city.. once upon a time, she got a call that her grandma was sick so she left everything and cameback to hometown to take care of her nana. She was inspired by her brother who uploads singing videos on Meipai (Chinese social media) and thinking that she could do one of that too. Over the years through trials and errors she was able to build her channel.
After learning this about her, I was really impressed. All i can say is, she is truly a hard working person and never leaves her family. We all should be inspired!!
Ps: All that woodworking and cooking skill she learned from her grandpa. Apart from this channel, I heard that she is also a bussineess woman 😍

Now I remember the tradition of hanging Ai leaves around the door frame. It is supposed to ward off diseases and maladies. I miss my childhood growing up in rural China with a strong tradition. My grandma knew special foods for every festivals and occasions. At the time, I took it for granted.

Honestly not that amazing Humans have been doing it for litteraly thousands of years. Not everyone lives like u do.
Here's the thing - I saw in another video where someone commented that her videos are showing a 'romantized' (not the exact word used, but similar meaning) portrayal of village life, and that whatever she is showing us are skills that all rural villagers have/know. Yes, those skill sets are not unique to her alone but thanks to her videos, we've found a way to escape from our sometimes mundane reality.

We aren't born yesterday, and of course most of us know there's more to what she's showing us on screen. To those naysayers or complainers - say what you will, but you cannot deny that behind the camera there is much toil, sweat and tears also. The fruits, plants and livestock aren't going to grow on their own and needs constant tending to. Tamales are made in dried corn husks, corundas are made in fresh corn leafs, which are even shaped like the leaves she's using in this video, only longer, and are wrapped in a very similar way, then cooked in water exactly as she does.
They would be if LiziQi used corn flour and not sticky rice and used corn husk instead of Sasa leaves.
We have tamales in China too. Often served as breakfast. The only thing different from Mexico version is that we only add sugar and lard for the flavor. This isn’t Chinese tamale.
