A few months ago I posted one of your videos on Facebook and captioned it "dream life ❤️". I was working and at university full time. Since then, I have moved back to my favourite place in England surrounded by hills and countryside. I have a small garden that I've started working on - I've bought lots of seeds and tools. And then the country went into lockdown. And the world kinda stopped. And although I still work a few days a week in a care home, and I still have university online, I can finally sit in the sunshine in the garden in the morning, plant seeds and bake bread and I don't have to feel guilty or silly for not going out and meeting people or running errands. I know a lot of people are struggling with quarantine - and of course I wouldn't wish illness upon anyone at all - but I am finally at peace and able to genuinely enjoy life now that we all have to stay home ❤️ and I am sure that watching your videos inspired this calm gratitude as well. Thank you Liziqi!

I'm convinced she was either a princess of an empress in a previous life. The thing that impresses me the most about her is the sheer amount of dishes she knows how to make. I read her late grandpa was a cook, so she learned a lot by observing him. However, she must know hundreds of dishes by heart as shown in her various videos and the ingredients she uses are not exactly common. Amazing.
@John Doe The dishes she makes are not all found in Sichuan cuisine and I guess using flowers to make desserts is a rather rare skill even in rural areas. It'd be nice to have more background on the origin of all these dishes/ingredients! Also, the cinematography is indeed absolutely stunning 😍

One of the top tourist spot is china the climate, culture, farming, you will amaze espicially in cooking they are creative no wonder they are the best of the best in asia.
I so admire this girl’s talents and artistic skills she puts in the food there. That place looks so peaceful, food looks so delicate and yummy, and people live in harmony with one another. I’m stuck home trying to relearn cooking and baking skills. I guess Covid-19 teaches people like me a lot of things in life.

but what is even more amazing is the joy she finds in looking after her elderly mother
when i look at western society we are so far removed from taking care of our elderly its more like a burden than a joy when we should remember the sacrifice they made to bring us up and return that with gratitude and love
Grandmother to be correct, her mother ran away and her father remarry but after her father passed away, her stepmom treat her badly. So her grandparents raise her up and after her grandfather passed away she realise she can’t repay them when they’re gone or it’s too late by then. She moved back to village from city just to look after her grandmother that brought her up well.
It's still common in countries like italy and spain and now it's getting us cursed out as irresponsible for letting the pandemic spread to the elderly that live with their relatives. It's not a good time for families, not to take care of your elders nor your children.
My grandma died last week. I wish I could have done a better job at taking care of her, like Liziqi does with hers. It hurts too much...

March the 3rd on the lunar calendar is Daughters’ Day, also know as the Peach Flower Festival. It’s a romantic ancient festival according to the legend. I used some fresh n eatable flowers as ingredients for food. (this is one of the festival’s traditions)
We had a picnic in front of my yard pretended that we went on an outing to enjoy springtime. This is what we can do to greet spring during this time!
Dishes she made:
1. Egg roll with pear blossom fragrance
2. Fermented Chinese yam with peach flower (It’s sweet and has a wine-taste)
3. Purple sweet potato cake decorated with radish flower (It’s soft, creamy and has milk and honey in it.)
4. Fried petals from yulan magnolia flower
5. Rice roll with herbaceous peony
6. Crystal Bozai cake with cherry blossom (Bozai cake is like a Chinese pudding or jelly. It’s tender, smooth and mild sweet.)
